Bets 01/01/2020

Chelts 12.15 - Redford Road is the best horse on OR, but taking a step back in trip with stable struggling for winners and a 5lb penalty for winning a G2 race is likely too much. Grand Mongul could be anything but it's a stablemate I like. Welsh Saint xxx rousted a field last time out and given Some Detail was beaten at the festival last year by a similar distance by Envoi Allen and co then I'm hoping Welsh Saint 9/4 is going to be somewhere close to that league.

Chelts 12.50 - Cogry was a big winner for me last time out, but surely Singlefarmpayment turns the tables today with a 4lb pull. Another Venture brings strongish form but Chester Williams hasn't ridden a winner here at this tough course so I going to assume not massively fancied. Commodore looks too high in the weights. Anteros is a danger despite age, as has won a listed hurdle race at the course of a higher mark and won on this ground but on balance is old and has fallen too many times for my liking. Doing Fine was my cliff horse last year and is still well handicapped. Kingswell Theatre a threat back in trip but I think prefers better ground. On clear cut but SFP 4/1 brings the form and down in grade can take this.

Chelts 1.25 - Champ 4/7 is very short but looks like the winner here. Could have won by a massive margin had it not had 3 calamities.

Chelts 2.00 - Kalashnikov and Oldgrangewood bring strong handicap form to table but both pushed up the weights a fair whack here. Ok Corral taking a strange big step back in trip which is odd. Ballyhill would have won the race last year off this weight but in dire form so can't back it. Lalor was a big hope for Chelts festival horse last year and perhap if headgear works with step up in trip we'll see the real Lalor. Mister Whitaker had a decent end to the season and I'm tempted but until see him this year is a risk. Saint Calvados is likley to benefit from step up but the way Vaniteux nearly collared him couple races ago up the hill worries me. Cepage another huge threat as was closing quick enough over C&D last time but race not long ago and this step up in class. The horse that calls out is Ex Patriot. 4th in Triumph, easy winner of a handicap couple races back even if up in the weights and ran in couple decent graded races which plenty of potential.

Ex Patriot 11/1ew
Lalor 16/1ew

Chelts 2.35 - The Jam Man would have been interesting if second place had gone on to win, but looks like the 16lb rise might make it tough. Skandiburg looks ahead of mark and Anytime will do may have won last time out if didn't rock and roll all over the place in run in.

Skandiburg 11/2
Anytime Will Do 12/1ew

10.00am 01/01 update- given AWD is a NR will hit The Jam Man 11/2. Was much bigger when wrote above! Oh well

3.10 Chelts - Roskana 11/2

3.40 Chelts - Out of time, shouldn't bet but :) Quick Draw 12/1ew

Bets 28/12/2019

1.50 newbury - Severano 5/1 chucked in if runs to ability. Solid course winner too

2.35 leopradstown - Cherif de Lisis 11/2

Bets 26/12/2019

12.50 - getaway fred 4/1
1.20 - simply the betts 7/2
2.30 - epatante 5/1

3.40 -  mr pumbelchook 7/2

Bets 21/12/2019

Ascot 1.50 - First Flow 4/1
Ascot 3.35 - Remiluc 33/1, Not So Sleepy 9/1

Saturday, 14 December 2019

Bets 14/12/2019

Solid yesterday.

12.10 - Botox Has 5/6 is short but has the form to win

12.45 - Shouldnt bet in this as very competitive, but marginal prefernece for Good Boy Bobby 5/2. Decent form and ground and distance not an issue. Clearly never run here so is a risk. Nearly poppoed for Garo at 50/1 but bust blood vessels last tiem out.

1.20 - Looks betwwen Croco Bay 8/1 and Eamon De Craic 5/1. Croco a festival winner goes well fresh and Eamon is well weighted and 2m looks best and ground suits too

1.55 - Trying to work out the best form here is tough and involes so many Nicholls horses in Frodon, Brelan DaS, Deigo Du Charmil and Capeland. Hmmmm. Given Frodon won the Rynair although must have massivley improved suspect the best formline and especially as 3rd place in last race has gone on to win but Cepage has been slammed up the weights so a hard one. Given Nicholls record will go with Brelan Das 5/1 and watch out for Secret Investor 10/1

2.30 - hopefull Champagne Well 7/2 stays on this gorund ans has the form

3.05 - hmm. All the rage for Call ME Lord 9/4 but on paper surely stablemate Pentland Hills is better? JCB winner so C&D winner. At the wieghts and OR though CML should win. Maybe slam for the champion hurdle at 25/1 and then lay out?

3.40 - Another tough one, Dame De COmp is the obvious one but maybeIndefatibile 8/1 offers more value as has looked very solid over C&D

Friday, 13 December 2019

Bets 13/12/2019

Chelt 12.10- Chantry House is short but lools solid 4/6. Took some 40/1 on supreme but who knows what race will run in if good enough

12.45 - Rockpoint 9/2 Solid last time out minus jumping. If sorts that out post more experience will be close

1.20 - Reptiito 8/1 well in on weoghts and solid course form

2.30 Cogry 4/1 weighted to repeat last years win

3.05 - Chic Name 8/1 solid ew though Fats tells me the Frnech nag is very good :)

3.40 - If K Storm hits peak game over but I like the improving Smartwatwr Jack 8/1

Saturday, 23 November 2019

Bets 23/11/2019

Haydock 12.05 - Second in g2 bumper annd would be unbeaten over hurdles if didnt fall Thebannerkingrebel 13/8

Haydock 1.50 - Man Of Plenty 201/1 ew 2nd in this couple years back off a weight now wih cliamer that good go close. Clealy still rate the horse given running in listed handicaps, so this is a step down in class

Haydock 2.25 - Breaking Waves and Tedham looks decent both staying on in last race. I'm torn but will go with Breaking Waves 8/1ew who looked in better shape but Tedham now second run post wind op so who knows? rfc?

Haydock 3.40 - Speculative punt on Kings Monarch 8/1ew. Ran a few decent races over shorter distances. Suspect needed last run. If gona stay will be today as Lee does well in handicaps on this course and suspect wouldnt bother otherwise.

Ascot 12.20 - Valtour is so obvious, but looks a 3miler and having been chasing will he take to hurdles over less distnace? Probably, but lets go Vinnie Dev 15/2 ew, who is fit and looked well last time out or maybe a rfc? hmm

Ascot 1.30 - Oscar Rose 5/1 could have won this last year. Has improved since, bolted up last time, gets a decent 3lb claim and trainer in form.

Ascot 2.40 - If the Cap Fits 3/1, won this last year and at the weighs even though seems to be money for Rocksana shouldnt turn the tables? Call ME Lord looks best at Sandown

Ascot 3.20 - Marracuja 14/1 ew if is ridden more prominently has solid chance of a lowly weight. Has been rated higher and stable still in good nick.

Ascot 3.50 - El Torando 10/1 ew purley based on trainer form in bumpers

Sunday, 17 November 2019

Bets 17/11/2019

12.45 - Voodoo Doll 20/1 ew solid course form, lower mark ran well last time out

1.15 - Be surprised if it wasnt one of the top 3 in market that won. Urgent looks best weighted on current form but Kingswell has beaten it before and Fact of Matter in the mix too all based on C&D form behind Tiger Roll. Given I can get 70/1 - 85/1 for combi tricast I'd rather change that :) Maybe Fact of Matter 5/1 gets the vote given age on his side and maybe more improvement left

1.50 - Getaway Trump 11/8 will be fit now and weight onside to reverse form with Al Dancer

3.00 - Bennys Bridge 8/1 solid C&D horse. Bolted up last time and hopefully still improving so overcome the rise.

4.00 - Time Flies By 5/6

Saturday, 16 November 2019

Bets 16/11/2019

12.05 - Solid 3rd in Champion Bumper, wins a G2 on hurdling debut; Thyme Hill 6/4 has to be the one to beat

12.40 Nicholls farms this race and Mick Pastor 5/4 looks the part on paper. Horse beat last time out has gone on to win a G1

1.15 Wholestone is the obvious choice looking at ratings, but Rockpoint 11/1 whose second run back post wind op might be worth an ew instead. Won the albert barlett trial last year and hoping will improve a whack and turn the tables on wholestone

1.50 - Potters Legend 8/1 won by 11 legnth last seen over fences. At this weight would have won the Kim Muir coupld years back. The way finishes of races suggests the extra trip is needed

2.25 - Slate House 5/1 looked solid last time out. I think the rise may even underestimate him yet.  A solid C&D winner so decent chance

3.00 I cant believe Tobefair has won at 15/2 and 8/1 given his Pertstemps second to Sire Du Berlais, but now up 20lb a serious ask. The BUther Said 6/1 was 18lb worse off than Ramses De Telisse last time out and finished well enught to suggest is plenty ahead of mark

4.00 - Midnight Castillo 9/4 hit 110 RPR on debut. Looks decent on paper

Saturday, 19 October 2019

Bets 19/10/2019

1.35 Ascot - Sands of Mail 12/1. Won this last year in similar conditions pretty easily. Few coins on So Perfect 40/1. AOB only chucks one dart so may feel good about this.

2.45 Ascot - This time AOB chucks lots of darts so no idea which is best chance bu on paper it's Fleeting 6/1. Instead I look to Tarwana 13/2. Decent formlines and Weld loves a bit of Ascot.

3.20 Ascot - Assuming AOB wouldnt run Manga Gracia 9/2 is not feeling good about return. 2,000G winner is the class horse. Centrury Dream 16/1 could pick up some place money

4.00 Ascot - Seem to be in AOB mode. Hmm. Not sure a good thing. Anyhow I Can Fly 33/1 nearly beat Roaring Lion in the QEII in this meeting last year. when 2lb overweight. Huge ew price

4.40 Ascot - Clon Colis 9/1 - Second in Royal Hunt Cup on soft, same mark and Spencer booked. Biometric won the Brittainia and might still have more to give. Few coins at 12/1. Looked at Mitchum Swagger and Dark Vision pretty closely too. Clearly AOB wins this though. Amdeo Mod 10/3 looks well in off a mark on 98 but so short at 10/3

Saturday, 12 October 2019

Bets 12/10/2019

If took away the pattern races did pretty well in the handicaps yesterday. Draw scuppered me few times.

3.50 York - Air Raid 22/1
4.10 Newmarket - Buildmeupbuttercup 13/2, Ceour Bliemy 40/1

Friday, 11 October 2019

Bets 11/10/2019

there'e two decent handicap formlines to follow today. Ranch Hand and Hamish. Which is better. HMMMM....

1.50 Newmarket - Platinum Star 9/4. Top rated, highest top speed, solid course form, nearly a G2 winner, solid course form. Probably too short in price to be betting in a 2yr old race but fook it.

2.25 Newmarket - Stylitisque 3/1. Again, Top rated, highest TS, solid C&D form and form with Daahyeh, though granted FInal Song's form with Raffle prize is rock too. The pick has more experience so going for it.

3.35 Newmarket - Quadrilateral is totally unexposed and will probably win. Love is a G1 winner already. Caynne Pepper on form with So Wonderful beats Love. Even tough should avoid this race coins on Cayenne Pepper 11/4

4.10 Newmarket -
Rythmic Intent 8/1. Ran well in the Ascot Hertigage Handicap and on run previous to that looks well handicapped.
Trueshan 8/1 - Really well handicapped. Winners all over the place from the race at Ffos Las and being second to Ranch Hand on paper is solid given odds for Casearwitch.

5.20 Newmarket - Fanny Logan 11/10 looks solid enough. SImply Beautifuls form is the best but been jumping around distances so hard to judge

2.00 York - Vardon Flyer 16/1 ran a decent race at Ebor festival. On wrong side of draw and up with the main pack for a long way out until faded so trip back is in favour

2.40 York - Firmament 13/2. Always does the business for me by placing at least. Backed a big C&D win for me in June and only 4lb higher so can do it again. Tudhope is the main stable rider and has picked this ahead of several others in race

3.50 York - Hamish a warm favourite understandably here. 7/4 just so short. Moon King 10/1 is massive value given how has been romping races and was drawn wrong side to Ranch Hand last time when finishing very strongly.

4.20 York - Dark Shot 20/1 huge price. Chucke in at the weights. solid york form and has won on soft before. Just depends if drawn on the right side or not

5.30 York -
Mogsy 28/1 worth a pop. Looks ahead of mark and run well on soft before.
Flying Pursuit 8/1. Down in class desperate for a win. Loves York, runs well on soft but slight concern about distance.

Saturday, 5 October 2019

Bets 05/10/2019

3.10 Ascot - Kyren 15/2, Silver Line 20/1
3.40 Ascot - Donjuan Tri 11/2
4.15 Ascot DI Fede 3/1
4.50 Ascot Came From Dark 11/2

1.40 Newmarket - Gallic 18/1
2.15 - Under The Stars 13/8

2.25 Newmarket - Promisory 6/5
3.00 Newmarket - Daahyeh 11/10
5.20 Newmarket - Escaper the CIty 10/3

You could back a whole host of Faves including King of Comedy and Mount Everest alsongsife Promisory and Daahyeh. Just don't know how much it will rain today though!

2.25 York - Land of Oz 9/1

4.10 York - Mighty Spirit 8/1

4.45 York - Johnny Drama 9/1

Friday, 23 August 2019

Bets 23/08/2019 - Ebor Day 3

1.55 - Most of the nag I like are hold up horses and they have generally struggled this week at York. Surely some of them need to change tactics, but who will? Given I don't know, despite draw we know Genetics will go forward and Speed Compnay wont be far off the pace who both have a good mark and decent YOrk form especially the latter

Genetics 28/1
Speed Compnay 25/1

3.00 - On all known form Threat wins this.

Threat 7/4

3.35 - Battash not run to best here and Ten Soverigns is a step down in trip which may well suit but rather side with Mabs Cross who nearly won this last year

Mabs Cross 5/1

4.50 - Fanaar 10/1 and Dark Vision 6/1

Wednesday, 21 August 2019

Bets 22/08/2019 - Ebor Day 2

I have an aversion to backing horse turned out quickly after winning but should have learned after Blue Point. My excuse for not backing Dakota GOld and Eddystone Rock meaning Marnie James was beaten into second. On the flip side was inevitbale Owney Madden would win. Picked it out as well handicapped at Goodwood but flopped then wins at OP 33/1 today. Some hope

1.55 - Liberty Beach has served me well but this is 6f and Under The Stars unbeaten over 6f including a storming G3 win gets the pick. An impressive 104 RPR on second run so just needs minor improvement to win

Under The Stars 9/2

2.25 - Most of these havent won at 6f yet. Mums TIpple only once raced looks like could make all but could also set this up well for Fleeting Prince who bolted up penultimate race with then no kind of race at Goodwood (Another one of my ridiculous losers at Goodwood)

Mumms TIpple 11/2
Fleeting Prince 10/1

3.00 - Baltic Barron unlucky not to win at Goodwood and FIrmnament still well weighted ove C&D to go close

Baltic BArron 9/1
Firmament 14/1

4.50 - Mubastimah has it all going. Solid course form, ahead of mark

Mubastimah 4/1

Tuesday, 20 August 2019

Bets 21/08/2019 - Ebor Day 1

Goodwood = car crash. Obviously a number of those I picked that were hampered, blocked, reared etc have won since. The worst of those Stone of Destiny who was 12/1 when prices opened last week. Jockey.

1.55 - Using Copper Knight as the marker across a few races. Clearly draw will make a difference. Some pace low draw but think stall 10 and 11 will set the pace. Rather go all or nothing so two from low in the draw with decent marks and course form based on Copper Knight are Marnie James 16/1 ew and Gunmetal 10/1ew

2.25 - Persuasion 7/2

3.00 - Logician 11/10

3.35 - Crystal Ocean 11/10 losing to Enable and Cracksman all good. King of Comedy another one of my unlucky losers this year is a massive threat

4.15 - Sleeping Lion 9/1 ew and Blue Luarette 16/1 ew

4.50 - Backed Owey Madden last time but not sure could find an excuse for it. Hard Nut 10/1 ew finished really well last time and Bill Neigh 25/1 ew could be chucked in maintains form

Friday, 2 August 2019

Bets 02/08/2019 - GG day 4

Rider dropped reins, hung into rail, no clear run, reared and slow away. I know how to pick horses. Ffs.

Not bothering with today after luckless 2 days

One bet. Game player 6/1 ew 6 places skybet

Thursday, 1 August 2019

Bets 01/08/2019 GG Day 3

I was feeling strong about selections yesterday. Two solid face winners ans one loat fairly to an MJ nag. The other 4 big ew bets were all merked. Hampered, not clear run, awkward slow leaving stalls. Nightmare. Not spent any decent time on it today.

Sinjarri 7/2
Guildsman 6/1
Constantinople 9/4
Indian Creek 20/1

Bets 31/07/2019 - Glorious Goodwood Day2

1.50 - Zubary 16/1

2.25 - Tribal Craft 14/1

3.00 - Liberty Beach 6/4

3.35 - Too Darn Hot 5/4

5.55 - La Marqina 12/1

Tuesday, 30 July 2019

Bets 30/07/2019 - Glorious Goodwood Day 1

Who knows what the weather will do :)

1.50 - Setting sail is a C&D winner and on a decent mark and won on soft. Price is okay. Mountain Hunter would have been right up there but not for the weather winning in decent Meydan handicaps of couple lbs lower but with a solid 5lb claim. The big ew for this race is First Sitting. 9lb pull with Setting Sail and absolutley comes alive over C&D. Twice a listed winner over C&D with wins on GS and Wall had his string in decent nick a week back

Setting Sail 3/1
First Sitting 11/1 ew
R Fc for the banter

2.25 - Pinatubo looks decent enough but very short

Pinatubo 5/4

3.00 - Speak in Colours interests me. All races indicate step up and soft ground what needed. Well here it is (assuming it rains)

Speak in Colours 11/1ew

3.35 - Stradivarius is best here of course but again mega short

Strady 4/6

4.45 - Muthmir surely has easiest race for a long time. Off 102 when a C&D winner. Also my fave follow off a cliff horse Boom the Groom. Hopefully the blinkers do the trick or its gasme over for this one. If is going to bounce back to form anywhere will be at this track

Muthmir 5/1
Boom the Groom 12/1ew

5.15 - Savannah looks to be on a decent mark and has run decent enough races at the track and has won over distance.

Savannah 7/1 ew

Friday, 21 June 2019

Bets 21/06/2019 - Royal Ascot Day 4

2.30 - Daahyeh has the formline based on the Queen Mary winner. Last Surprice romped last race inc a gdog short price but not on turf JM JAckopn looks solid as does the Wesley nag but drawn on wrong side. HMM

Daahyeh 9/2
JM Jackson 12/1

3.05 - Pablo Escobarr has the formline based on Derby WInner and Bangkok the unfilled promise

Palbo Escobar 12/1ew
Bangkok 14/1ew

3.40 - Jash only just beaten by 10Sov over 6 good vlaue here esp with Crisford smahing in winner yesterday

Jash 5/1ew

4.20 - Hemosa is solid and will be tough to beat, but Happen could offer more value

Happen 20/1ew

5.00 - Tough. Hotosy Totsy looks well handicapped here and with stright mile speciliast must be solid. Tist and Shake runs today so will inform us wheteh Magneitc Charm has a decent chance or not. Coral Beach looks tasty too based on mark from G1 races

Hotsy Tosy 6/1ew
Coral BEach 12/ew

5.35 - Fuirja Prince best of these that reoppose aagin from decent handicap at York with then COrgi and COllide

Fuirja Peince 6/1ew

6.55 Goodwood - Brasca 12/1ew

Thursday, 20 June 2019

Bets 19/06/2019 - Royal Ascot Day 3

Blaming the weather :)  :| :(

2.30 - Two form horses here. Sunday Soverigen whalloped Arizona who won here and Air Force One who edged passed Southern Hills who also won here. Sunday Soverign has 3 races under belt has hightest RPR and TS

Sunday Sovereign 2/1

3.05 - Circus Maximus won here earlier in the week but I think King of Comedy should have won and therefor think thats the stronger formline. That leaves Sangarius and Roseman. Sangarius was hanging all over the place and had 3lb more to contend with than Roseman so expecting Sangarius to come out on top. Of course Dettorri smashed in a couple yesterday and nothing on day1 whn followed him off a cliff.

Sangarius 15/2 ew

3.40 - Fleeting clearly stands out a mile. I assume Peach Tree is there to be the pacemaker. PArt of me fancies Peach Tree to win though :)Sparkle Roll and Frankelina looking decent too

Peach Tree 33/1ew

4.20 - Let's take on the hotpot. Thomas Hobson finished second to Strady before and Called To The Bar has formlines which show close match to Cross Counter and also has beatedn Flg of Honour so is well overpriced.

Called To The Bar 20/1ew
Thomas Hosbon 20/1ew

5;00 - Trying to work out if Dark Jedi is well handicapped or not but cant work it out though I think it is! If Dunkerron finds form is totes chucked in but suspect might see it at Glorious Goodwood later this year bolt up based on previous form. Turgenev is also well handicapped back down to 8f looking at the TRophy Stakes at DOncaster. Awerdeem solid C&D winer also well hanicapped. Pog also very interesting. HMMMM

Ternenev 14/1ew
Awdeedrwam 14/1ew

5.35 - Questionnaire looks chucked in on paper. Hope ground suits.

Questionairre 14/1 ew

Bets 19/06/2019 - Royal Ascot Day 2

Hmm not how I remember Ascot

3.05 - Norway 3/1

4.20 - Agrotera 7/1

5.00 - Raising Sand 7/1

Tuesday, 18 June 2019

Bets 18/06/2019 - Ascot Day1

2.30 Queen Anne - Mustashry is best at the weights so must have a favourites chance as also a C&D winner but too old now?. Laurens not great at Ascot last time. Accidental Agent out too wide. Can Barney really be as good post stud? Beat the Bank flops in G1 races. Lord Glitters ought to run a big race as loves Ascot. I'm finding it hard to pick a winner here....

However, I do like a lot of others fancy Hazapour. Stays longer than the 8f which will help, will like the ground, still a 4 year old, Weld has a good record at Royal Ascot and at the prices worth the ew

Hazapour 12/1ew

3.05 Coventry - Hmm. Threat looks solid but only yet won over 5f. Guildsman was only recently added so was a surprise? Monoski has the best form on paper having romped the Brockleby winner?

Monoski 10/1ew

3.40 Kings Stand - Everything telling me to back Blue Point, yet I;'m going for Imprimis wo stumbled last time out and still won a decent G2 and beating Bound for nowhere is a decent fromline.

Imprimis 12/1ew

4.20 St James -  Royal Marine could be a massive price here. Shaman was sevind to Persian King who I rate highly so Shaman looks decent but King of Comedy looks really decent and unexposed.

King of Comedy 6/1ew

5.00 - Ascot Stakes - Grand Visor is top weight and I dont think has a chance so must be in here to give Time to Study stablemate as lowere weight as possible :). I backed Time To Study in the Chester Cup and was disappointed. Has run 3 lenghts behind Stravivadious in the Queens Vase, 2nd  in the Sagaor Stakes (so we know stays), Crowley has been booked and running of 96 is chucked in. SOme of these Irish jump runners are chucked in but which to pick. hmm. Batts Rock very iteresting

Time To Study 16/1ew

5.35 - Wolverton - Star of Bengal unexposed

Star of Bengal 12/1ew

Detorri has a solid book of rides today. Worth an acca

Mustashy, threat, blue point and too darn hot as an ew quad and trebles

Bets 31/05/2019

2.35 Epsom- Senioirty needs to come down few pounds. Masham Star drawn wide else would be keen on chances. History Writer left me down last time out so better not do the biz this time. Wahash very interesting but surely better suited to AW? Greenside was a tad unlucky in the Spring Cup and duly won next time out and Masham Star kept the form pretty strong so still preferance for Greenside today. Thought I'd landed a beauty with Firmament last time out and looks decent but think better at York

Greenside 11/2 ew

3.10 Epsom - Saluen nealry beat Cracksman in this last year and he arrives here today 7lb better. But I think had an easy lead on soft ground so would have been hard to peg back. La Ti Dah is rock solid and will I'm sure improve but if Old PErsain runs to form he's top rated by 2lb and been supplemented which always a positive sign

Old Persian 7/2

3.45 Epsom - Setting Sail looked nailed on to win post 9f so drop back in trip will be perfect. Mountain Angel has done me over enough times but decent C&D winner. Elector maybe just too far

Mountain Nagel 4/1ew

4.30 Epsom  - Hmm. I have Frankellina 25/1 antepost.

8.40 Sandown - History Writer 5/1 Did best of those held up in Spring Cup. Needed first run last season too. C&D winner. Trainer in decent enough form with good record at Sandown. Would be annoying if Kitaabaat bounces back to form having beaten Sevenna Star over C&D but was 8 lenghts behind Leader Writer over C&D

For the first time in a long time I didn't look at the markets when making my selections. I've been substituting lack of time with checking the markets for clues but clearly based on results that has made me a mug punter again. Yesterday went back to stats for formlines so was good to see Firmament drift to 20/1 and place and Migration win as that form was rock solid. Suspect the problem with markets now is there are so many social media tipsters that move markets and unless you know them all you can't tell a real gamble from a tip. So back to paper like yesterday.

Newbury 2.10 - Habub 11/4 well handicapped with a G1 entry

York 2.25 - Twist and Shake 7/4. Gosden has 50% SR when bringing horses back within 1 week to race. Maqsad form is decent.

York 3.35 - I discounted a lot of these at the top of the market and being too high in the weights. Tough Remedy 14/1ew has been beaten bay solid horses in handicaps (Bowerman and Matterhorn). Dagliesh had some solid winners this week at York and the step up in trip looks the right move for Tough Remedy. Has won on turf so have to hope last run at Newbury was a blip. It was 40/1 so never fancied that day

York 4.05 - Stoute must fancy Accomodate 10/3. Putting the 3yr old into this race agaisnt elders to get it's allowance after windop (Stout 50% SR with runners post wind op). Looks ahead of mark and form is strong as Muchly is now 92 and beat Queen Power at Ascot

York 4.35 - Ryan Moore has been booked to get the job done on Tenax. Could have and probably should have won both of last races and Leondis form stacks up well. Alfie Solomons looks well handiacapped on York form but he looks a better 6f horse. Clearly Tenax is a worthy fave but I like Ustah 7/1 ew. Very well handciapped, a confirmd front runner and Burrows decent record at York

Newmarket 4.45 - Medieval 4/1 ew. Form of fave is suspect. I think Medieval with 6lb pull on Ambient can turn it around. Has better course form, had a bad draw last time and wasnt pushed as hard as Ambient so think enough to turn tables

Newbury 5.30 - Keeper Choice 10/1 ew, goes well fresh, C&D winner and based on race at Sandown still has more to give with cuirrent mark

Aintree 5.35 - Floral Bouquet 12/1ew dropped down weights and at this distance with this ground with the 3lb claim and decent stable form can win. Only runner at track today and 50% SR with jockey

York 1.50 -  Fujairia Bridge is clearly ahead of mark and very lightly raced for age but the worry is not yet run the trip. First Eleven is pattern class but exposed already. Many of these won well last time out and have been whacked up the handicap including Crystal King. Classic Stoute 4 yr old improver over winter and looks to have more in tank.

Crystal King 7/1ew

York 2.25 - Which way will draw work out who knows. Arecibo was running in pattern races in France to an okay standard. Is the only horse in field entered into a future group race. Watching the Ripon race the horse ran well enough for a while and just looked unbalanced a few times and was then eased off on. O'meara banging them in and has won this races a number of times, cheekpieices on could be a goer.

Arecibo 18/1ew

York 3.00 - I followed Projection off a cliff  last year and stopped backing it when it won at Ascot... Yafta looks in decent form, had a run should have won last time out and beat Projection last year and also Invincilble Army. Trends strong for 4year olds

Yafta 4/1ew

York 3.35 - Can't have a horse called Frankellina for it not to hose up ;) Form working out well and we know will like the fast ground. Sparkle Roll did not like the fast ground so surely have to take on

Frankellina 11/4

Chester 1.40 - Sha La La Lee 16/1ew front running tactics have revived this one.

Chester 2.25 - Matterhorn 11/4

Chester 3.00 - Frankus 5/1ew

Chester 3.35 - Time To Study 20/1ew would have won this race last year on paper if was 8lb lower like he is today. Looking at previous runs on soft and over 2m e.g in Sagaro stake could be chucked in if Williams works his magic again,.

FunMac 12/1 ew will place (should place). At these weights would have won race last year and year before ;)

Cliffs of Dooehn 16/1ew looks a shrewd purchase from Beckett. Showed solid potential with AOB and will be more prominently ridden today

Chester 4.40 - Archippos 8/1ew 12f soft ground produces best RPRs. 6lb lower than last win. Decent enough race last time out

Chester 5.15 - Baydar 12/1ew chucked in over this sort of distance and ground. Never Surrender 16/1ew course winner and step up clearly brought our best on turf at Ascot. Not sure why I backed it last night as well but prefer Baydar

Struggling to pin down 1 horse in each race, but here goes

1.30 Supreme - I really like Fakir, but have it Antepost already. Klassical Dream is surely rock solid in this too. I was going to pick Elixur but a NR. Aramon is closely matched to KD. Angels Breathe is solid as could be Grand Sancy. Tough race for sure. Take big places on offer

Klassical Dream 5/1 ew
Grand Sancy 14/1 ew

2.10 Arkle - . Lalor not a good prep run. Glen Forsa has won couple handicaps and a 3 horse G2 race. Us and Them well beaten by Hardline. Hardline is a G1 winner and top rated so gets my vote

Hardline 5/1 ew
Glen Forsa 9/2 ew

2.50 Ultima - Noble Endevdour has soid festival form. Coo Coo looks like up for a repeat

Noble Endevaour 14/1 ew

3.30 Champion Hurdle - Apples Jade looks much better this year than Melon did when got very close to BDA. BDA is unknown for me. Laurina has a lot of hype and potential. This surely is the tricast in some shape so playing safe (I think)

Laurina 4/1 ew

4.10 - OLBG - Ruby and Willie liking this one. Another Quevaga job?

Benie Des Dieux Evs

Bad times last week in Meydan....Road to recovery this week

3.05 - Red Galileo ought to win, but at the prices Zamaam 5/1 much better value as has a 9lb pull over RG since last met over C&D which means Zamaam should win by 1/4 length over RG as long as does not give him an uncontested lead!

3.40 - I was so keen on Walking Thunder 8/11 last time out when was 7/1 but the outside stall really put me off. Not only did overcome it but clocked a good time when was eased at the end. Had it gone full pelt to the line would have hit a very good time. Small field very short price too unfortunately

4.15 - Desert Fire 7/2 won last race well enough and covered more ground than any other nag so  extra furlong and 4 lengths shouldn't stop progression

4.50 North America 1/3 should trounce the field but price is mad. Cosmo Charli 9/2 might be worth considering

Skybet 2/1 North America/ Walking Thunder double

5.25 Glenamoy Lad 7/1 gets a clean start and can win this.

6.00 - Lanksy 13/2 is top weight but has a decent shout based on last C&D run. Most other are going up/down in trip and doesn't help

3.05 - Dubai Beauty let me down and came last last race so no doubt will hack up today! Divine Image hasn't run on dirt before so I stick with the proven Al Hayette 9/2. What's intetesting is the draw of 15. Similar wide draw to when I said not backing Walking Thunder who bolted up by a dozen lenghts plus so will ignore the draw at my own peril!

Al Hayette 9/2

3.40 - On paper Nashirah is best at the weights but I have a queston on 7f  so staying with the fave Woven who was flying home over C&D last time out

Woven 5/2

4.15 - Drafted and Ibn Malik vry close on paper but I tink Drafted is slightly ahead. IM has Crowley onboard today which is the worry but will stick with Drafted

Drafted 9/4

4.30 - I kicked myself for not backing Capazzeno last time out and I might do again especially with Barza up but Moqarrar bolted up over C&D time with a quick time without really being asked a question. Draw is tougher today but hoping carrying less weight around will help overcome that.

Moqarrar 9/1

5.25 - Down to Key VIctory and Team Talk. Key Victory beaten fave twice now so again I'm sure he'll win today but I am going to edge with Team Talk who ran well last time out in fact 6 lenghts ahead of Key Vicotry.

Team Talk 6/1

Not found my mojo yet in 2019. Still searching. I will find it

Meydan 3.05 - Sporting Chance 5/2 by fsr most experienced and top rated and G3 winner already. Decent draw, trainer in form

Meydan 3.40 - Really wanted to back Walking Thunder but draw is awful. Royal Marine 4/6 is a G1 winner and whilst really short if takes to surface will walk home

Meydan 4.15 - Above The Rest will no doubt be in the top 3, but want to go left field and watch Waady 25/1 ew bounce back. 9lb lower than when last ran over C&D. Blinkers removed. Big ew if gets a decent start. Above the Rest 5/1 and Waady 25/1ew

Meydan 4.50 - Kimbear 4/1 race fit, a G3 winner over C&D but most important is a front runner who bagged draw 1

Meydan 5.25 - Hmm. Glassy Waters could romp but not proven on surface. New Trails is well handicapped but Saltarin Dubai could also bounce into form especially if gets an early lead. Hmm New Trails 4/1

Meydan 2.30 - Ispoli on a decent mark. Basateen looks a big danger based on improved run last time and well weighted on old carnival form

Basateen 10/1 1pt ew

Mydan 3.05 - Hard to know whether Dubai Beauty will transfer form to Dirt, but on ratings is miles clear of anything else

Dubai Beauty 2/1 2pts win

Meydan 3.40 - This ones tough. So many horses changing distances. Could make a case for many of these but the two at the top of market appeal most. Faatinah will wins if gets the breaks to lead and Hit The Bit will def be in the frame based on current form and last years peformances at the carnival

Hit The Bid 5/2 2pts win

Meydan 4.15 - Has Doug Watson 1-2 written all over this. Drafted and My Catch

Drafted/My Catch 1pt 8/1 rfc

Meydan 4.50 - Settle For Bay won me a massive prize and looks solid. Deauville is also top rated her

Settle For Bay 11/2 1pt win

Meydan 5.25 - Aurum looks on a decent mark

Aurum 7/2 2pts win

Chelts 12.15 - I can't explain ought to win but Jarveys Plate 10/1 ew worth a bet incase the fave flops. Exlir De Nutz is a g2 winner and yes probably a good stone better than this horse but this is just a Listed race. Goes well at Chelts based on last race too.

Jarveys Plate 1pt ew 10/1
I can explain/ Jarverys Plate fc 0.5pt

Chelts 12.50 - Robinsfirth looks decent but first run back in a while. Shanroe high in weights and probably wants further. A lot of old boys in this and I'd rather go with Beware The Bear. Needs a more prominent ride I reckon but if blinkers sharpen this one on up is on a good mark. Ran well at the festival and off this mark down in grade good chance.

Beware The Bear 1pt ew 8/1

Chelts 1.25 - Defi Du Seuil solid festival winner looks back in the game and holds most of these on form

Defi Du Seuil 11/4 2pts win

2.00 Chelts - Born Survivor decent run last time

Born Survivor 1pt ew 7/1

2.35 Chelts - De Name Evades Me ran well last time except mistake at last
