Sydney Cup on Saturday - The Offer 2/1

Monday, 14 April 2014

Bets 14/04/2014

2.50 Windsor - There are a few of these who are in blinding form on the AW, but I think Pal Of The Cat 11/2 who has been off for a while is ahead of the handicapper. 4 year olds have a good record in this, good jockey booking and won on reappearance last year.

3.10 Pontefract - If Colonel Mak 12/1 gets out to the front he'll be hard to catch. Annuication 11/2 looks a danger though as form is solid.

3.20 Windsor - Again a lot of these have decent form on All Weather but there is one who was on the upward last year and that's Marmalady 4/1. The form is decent and Ryan is again onboard.

4.20 Windsor - Every man will be on Gosden today and Blessington 9/2 is no exception. Back on good ground and turf has the class to win this. Decent draw too. The biggest danger is the favourite who has romped his last few races but that was on AW. Joeys Destiny and Robot Boy are not ruled out. Actually I this race gets harder the more I look at it. Hmmm.

Bets 13/04/2014

Nearly hit a big win yesterday, but I'll take the £2k profit, happily. I'm up £4k on the flat since the Lincoln and I'll say it again. Welcome back Flat Racing.

Tom Segal has tipped Taglietelle in 3.20 Curragh.

I can't be arsed with Irish racing today. Will just blindly back Weld's 3 horses. Desai Jnr has told me to back Nicholls blindly today too, so that's what I'll do...

Bets 12/04/2014

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped up 5 today and I like a couple of them. Going to miss the FACup Semis, Day 3 of Masters and an amazing day of racing. Cousin is getting married; no consideration for sport! Ha

1.50 Newbury - Mutashaded 9/2
3.30 Newbury - One More Word 16/1, Foxtrot Romeo 14/1
3.50 Ayr - Roalco De Farges 14/1, Adrenalin Flight 33/1

Will no doubt be seeing decent future winners today:

Newbury 1.50 - I agree with Segal on this one. Mutashaded 9/2

Newbury 2.20 - On paper for me this is between Joyeuse, J Wonder and Manderley. Although Al Thakira is top rated was some reports hadn't wintered as well as liked. Guess Joyuese 4/1 safest?

Ayr 2.40 - MTOY Evs

Newbury 2.55 - Kingman 7/4 romped home ahead of Emirates Flying who performed very well in Dubai this year. After Gosden rattled a 4 timer yesterday, would be nuts to go against him on this one especially as is rated 111 after only two runs! Also worth hitting a Gosden treble today. Have to be worried about Night of Thunder if not only for the fact is has won it 5/12 years. Horse looks decent too.

Thirsk 3.25 - Farlow 5/1 is a handicapper worth keeping eye on

Newbury 3.35 - Brownsea Brink 10/1 looks well handicapped as does Highland Duke 20/1

Ayr 3.50 - Tidal Bay 18/1, Godsmejudge 18/1, Lackamon 40/1

Thirsk 4.00 - Baccarat 4/1 is still on upgrade

Newbury 4.40 - Top Diktat 11/1 on a winnable mark, in good form and likes Newbury

Bets 11/04/2014

Newbury 2.00 – Started to read more on pedigree and today Ballymore Castle and Justice Good hit the line up. I’ll go with Justice Good 7/1 as Elsworth won this race last year with Justice Day

Newbury 2.30 – I’m not a major fan of 2m flat races but Leo Luna 7/2 is pretty tempting.

Newbury 3.05 – You’ll all think I’m mad and I’m probably going too far left field on this, but God’s Speed 33/1 ran okay in a Listed race last month. The winner went on to be a close third in a G3. I think I know why I am on this. Because last time I saw a horse bolt up by double lengths it was Toast of New York and we all know how that ended up. My calculations say he has a better chance than 33/1 especially is as more race fit than most. Pretty much all of them are entered in the Derby. Scotland has been smashed in the betting.

Ayr 3.15 – I’ve had a sh*te time with the jumps but Hartforth 20/1 looks massive to me

Newbury 3.40 – Really don’t know who will have improved the most over the winter and loads have claims. Over C&D Exchequer 4/1 finished behind Kingston Hill and is well handicapped on that form alone. However Extremity’s 5/2 form over C&D probably makes him better handicapped.

Newbury 4.15 – I don’t think this is easy at all and I really shouldn’t bet but I want to purely so I keep track of form. Sounds daft but it’s how I learn. Dutch Masterpiece has a ridic weight to deal with and I hope the ground is quick enough for Jimmy Stlyes 6/1. El Viento 16/1 might be the danger with a 5lb claim, but needs a good start.

Newbury 5.15 – Be My Gal 2/1 has been hammered in the betting

Newbury 5.45 – Approaching Star 3/1 could be the next Oaks winner, but Tinga 4/1 has the experience needed to land this

I think it’s a tough field with so many unexposed horses but reckon worth following a market Acc on Leo Luna, Scotland, Extremity and Be My Gal

Bets 10/04/2014

5 winners yesterday but no big acc landed. I'm just playing today because want to stay in mode, but a very small patent only on the below today. Shouldn't really bet in this low class stuff, but hey...

5.40 Kempton – Desert Colours 3/1 is still on a good mark.

6.10 Kempton – Baars Causeway 9/4 has from here and looks the best on paper

6.40 Kempton – Heartsong is very interesting back at Kempton after a while but will stick with Ray of Joy 4/1 who won pretty comfortably over C&D two races ago

Bets 09/04/2014

Schoolboy error yesterday not remembering the draw bias at Pontefract. Blew out on 5 races!

Lingfield 3.00 - Lujeanie 5/2 should win at these weights

Notts 3.10 – Signore Piccolo 5/1 ran a decent race last time. Had a hampered start and ran green and hung. If has those things put right could be a few notches ahead of handicapper especially if has further improved over winter.

Notts 3.40 - Maybe Qatar Racing are desperate for £8k and have entered Pearl Secret for that reason. Pretty shocking if he lost this.

Lingfield 4.00 - Market wants Glorious Empire. I want Outback Travellor 4/1 who is proven at Lingfield

Notts 4.10 - Not sure how good Flying Officer will become and Gosden said will be 6 weeks before reaches peak. For me have to back Biographer 3/1 as goes well fresh and is a Listed winner and like soft ground.

Notts 4.40 - Which form is better? The Irish Licoln or the British? We'll find out with Lord Aeryn vs Robert The Painter. The last time they met RTP beat LA by 4.25l. There's now a 10lb pull meaning RTP should still win by about 1 length over LA so will stick with that theory.

Lingfield 5.00 - Grasped 8/11 has been let in lightly

Notts 5.10 - Secret Pursuit 9/2 is on a tasty mark. Just have a small concern the ground might not suit though.

Notts 5.40 - Supachap and Sahara Desert lock horns again. On paper Supachap 9/2 has the edge.
