Bets 17/01/2013

Segal has busted my tip for the betfair hurdle. Clearly My Tent Or Yours was going to be one, but doubts over his participation so not worth it and I missed the 10/1 too. I backed Punjabi last time out as at peak won a Champion Hurdle. Henderson reckons is in good nick which means 40/1 is a daft price. As a result of Segal tipping it, it is only available at 25/1. Boo. Anyway. Next. The weather is likely to KO plenty of racing in next few days which means we are going to get some mint races when planned runners will have to run in other races. Can’t wait. In the meantime Winny is still on today and so is Dubai! J

Wincanton 1.50 – I can’t work out whether the form of Master of the Sea now fully stacks up as Loose Chips was finally caught out at this level. The really interesting one has to be Minella Stars 6/1. What on earth was he doing in the International Hurdle on a mark of 111. If you stack that up he must be 20 odd pounds if not more ahead of the handicapper over hurdles and he won chases on 125. Very interesting but is a huge field and I’ve not looked at much of it

Wincanton 2.20 – The winner on paper has to be Definitely 7/2. Didn’t go well fresh last time out so has to be a doubt, but that’s included in the price.

Wincanton 4.20 – Shutthefrontdoor 1/3 to everything in this race. Need to double with a short price to make it worthwhile though.

Some decent races in Ireland but I’m going to just sit and observe as some of them could bounce back and it would annoy me, e.g. Quito DLR. I got uber lucky at Meydan last week when I would have taken a couple hundred pound hit until in the last race up pops a 33/1 winner. Bosh, but makes me wary about today.

Meydan 2.30 – Elderly Paradise 11/1. Trainer has solid record here and another Aussie horse – they have good record at this festival. A quick google search suggests is a decent horse http://www.inglis.com.au/news/item/elderly-paradise-dominant-in-macau-gold-cup

Meydan 3.05 – Laajooj 4/1 has a solid consistent record here. 10f definitely looks his trip

Meydan 4.15 – Apparently, and stress apparently has been a lot of hype about Devil’s Cut 17/2. Just concidently is another Aussie horse. I thought Tamaathul 6/1 had won his last race only to be bummed by 33/1 shot last time out. Drop in trip will help to see out race.

Meydan 5.25 – Longshot of the day comes again in the last race. Kidnapped 50/1. 2 years ago under Dettori this horse posted a decent effort in a better race. 11lb lower now and either not run over suitable C&D since or has genuinely flopped. Hope it’s the former. The horse In The Spotlight 7/2  is all the rage in India hacking up, winning Classics, all over the country. Has been backed in from 5/1 into 3/1 in places so could be top dollar. I unfortunately have another horse in this I heart due to the form lines; Ahzeemah 4/1 who has won some very decent races here and actually fairly easily.

  1. 16/1 winner in an 8 horse race! How you pick the time of day I don't know, i just chucked a cheeky fiver e/w on Quito...smallest bet of the day (hopefully not the only winner tho, eh?) Well done, keep it up.

    1. Well I'm glad you backed Quito! Had a feeling, but didn't follow through with it! Oh well.
