Bets 28/06/2014

Decent winners yesterday. As predicted Johnston is starting his resurgence. Segal is obviously aware of the same and today he has picked:

3.15 Newcastle - Almargo 7/1
3.50 Newcastle - Oriental Fox 14/1
4.15 Curragh - Alban Star 10/1, Alkasser 11/1

Tough day off punting and I'm banking on the ground staying Good or quicker at Newmarket. Can't predict the weather, so could blow out….

2.20 Newmarket - Zen Un Nita 3/1. La Cuesta ran behind Littlemissblakeney got marked by this horse so ZUN could be very good. No surprise of Parsley wins based on Hannon record in this.

2.55 Newmarket - Battalion is one of my favourite horses in training mainly as I've won when he has and avoided when lost. I'm convinced needs soft ground, so will leave again. I like Sheikhzayedroad 7/2. Goes on this ground. Just want Martin to get a decent start. Think headgear has sharpened him up too.

3.30 Newmarket - Do I give up on Garwood 7/2. Hmm. Not sure about this. Givens Hannons record in this and how well Professor ran at Ascot, maybe Indignant 14/1 ew work a pop.

4.05 Newmarket - I know Wedding Ring beat Manderley 11/4, but Manderley has decent form in the book. The 1k is not as strong as the 2k, but Euro Charlene and Ithimal have hardly been disgraced.

4.40 Newmarket - Seagull 6/5 looks set to turn tables with Rosehill Artist and we know Seagull goes well at Newmarket.

5.15 Newmarket - TOUGH. If Urban Dance reverts back to 3yr old form over C&D will go well. I'm not sure why Llanarmoon Lad was withdrawn last time out. I had £1k on him to win. Tanseeb 13/2 has form written all over him after Sea Shanty ran a blinder at Ascot. Almany is ahead of handicapper based on last run at Newmarket, but not sure what happened last time. Regulation 22/1 has to be worth a punt on his Meydan form

5.45 Newmarket - Not sure what happened to Midnite Angel. If returned to best would romp this off this mark, but can't have it. I really want Waveguide 3/1 to win, more because I like Lewis Walsh. Reckon one to watch.

2.05 Newcastle - Muthmir is interesting. Not a lump job by any means, but a lot of money for him. In fact staying away because Barron could also nail this with either Tarooq or Mississippi and Lack Lee might cause them issues. Me leave be…

2.40 Newcastle - Not sure if should start back 3yr olds against elders just yet, but Saayerr 9/4 looks good.

3.15 Newcastle - Another tough handicap. I'm not fully convinced Almargo ran that well at Ascot. Happy to be proved wrong, as the form is very good, but I'm on Dream Walker 7/1. In good nick, has won over C&D and the Chil The Kite form is just as good in my book. Has the Osin too.

3.50 Newcastle - Very hard. The top of the market looks pretty much right. In that case I'm going other end. Ardlui 28/1 would have got close to winning this off this mark today last year. Is in absolutely dire form, but could bounce back. More realistically though Angel Gabriel 6/1 should not be out of the places.

5.00 Newcastle - Desert Colours 11/2 bumped into a decent one last time. Still reckon is improvement to come.

3.05 Windsor - Border Legend 11/2 strong form, god mark.

3.40 Windsor - I've never been an Ocean Tempest 10/3 fan, but looks decent if ground not quick. Horses have won this with a penalty before.

4.10 Windsor - Stevens really likes Gamesome. Ashman Sam has a decent chance. So does Morache Music. They are in top 3, can't decide so leaving be.

4.15 Curragh - Fly To The Moon 16/1. If you look at Focus on Venice as a marker then Alkasser has 10lb to find on FTTM. Now clearly if you watch all the races, Alkasser looks class and is only this short as Segal backed him. This is hard though. Barkston Ash and Greek Caynon maybe too. Allow this....

4.50 Curragh - Cappella 11/8

5.45pm Update... Half time so a cheeky punt at Donny..

7.05 Donny - Amadeus Wolfe Tone 7/1 absolutely smashed that last race. Watch it. C&D winner and trainer bang in form...

7.40 Donny - Macs Superstar 8/1 knows round courses, his AW form is good. Worth ew

8.05 - High on Life 2/1 great chance...
