3/8 y'day, but two were 5/1 so on top again. Few more today but all in low class racing which might spell trouble.....
2.30 Yarmouth - Arthur Martinleake Evs has the experience and form
2.40 Haydock - My notes say Azmaam 11/10 is a surefire winner next time if does not bodge start again
3.40 Haydock - Shades of Silk 4/1 looked very green when hanging late on, ultimately costing him the race. Given's bunch running well without winning and jockey booking positive
5.10 Haydock - Ground caught me out a couple times yesterday so I should highlight I need the ground to stay on the softer side of good for Precision Strike 6/1 who won fairly well over C&D last time, albeit English Summer got hemmed in, but won next time out to frank the form. I'm not convinced backing this claimer is the right thing to do as doesn't look great but hoping the horse can win the race!
6.15 - Voyage of Discovery 7/4 massive step down in difficulty with a cheeky 3yr allowance can win this.
6.35 Newcastle - I've been told Park Glen 11/2 is well fancied. I couldn't back it on form but it was 12/1 this morning. Trainer's horses are in dire form so would be a nice surprise to me, but not holding out.
6.50 Sandown - Snoano 11/4 has all the entries to suggest is well thought of and will improve on better ground today
8.35 Southwell - The RP App has given out a Pricewise Extra tip for free. Ordinarily when this happens it's a good bet as if it wins it's gets punters hooked in. I've not looked at the card but Segal has gone for Master of Song 9/1

I really should realise by now I make all my big money at big race meets, not on average day to day. However, back to work in two weeks so making the most of the time left.
2.50 Brighton - Crafty Choice Evs
3.50 Brighton - I always worry about horses having tough races too soon before another race, but not with MJs horses. Skytrain 4/1 ran a blinder last time out in a very good race and looks a much easier race.
4.20 Brighton - La Tinta Bay 8/1 beat Mission Approved who nearly won a massive pot at the weekend. Is a course winner too.
5.25 Brighton - Lunarian 5/1 ran an okay debut and if runs to that form with a bit of improvement will go well.
7.10 Kempton - Turning Times 5/2 finished close to Assault to Rome who ran well in a Listed race.
7.50 Yarmouth - Reaffirmed 5/1 was pulling really hard last time. Has shown speed so this drop in trip might be smart. Just let him fly.
8.20 Yarmouth - Needless Shouting 5/1. Some random number text me with this bet. Looks reasonable but price is clearly shrinking because of trainer form...
8.40 Kempton - Musaddas 9/4 has been finishing runner up too many times, but was obviously given a tasted of how to win and get in front last time out. His form over C&D is quick and very strong.

Another solid day with 12/1, 11/2, 5/2 and 7/4 winners from 7 races. Up to 5 figure profits in the week! Booya....Fave backing today
3.15 Kempton - Only one horse looks well handicapped. Muradif Evs. Form with Guilty who won well off 72.
3.40 Naas - Bilderberg 15/8 def the best horse in the race
3.45 Kempton - Messila Star 7/4 strong form with Tenor
5.10 Nass - Chicago Girl 6/5
5.15 Kempton - Johara 2/1 beat Double Up over C&D when DU was well fancied. High on Life has also franked form.
6.00 Windsor - Tamarin 11/10. Horse who finished behind him came second to Royal Razlama who won me a massive pot at Goodwood at 16/1 so reckon Tamarins maiden is decent enough at this level
8.00 Windsor - Nancy from Nairobi is one I've followed painfully. I'm hoping Le Maitre Chat 5/2 who posted a decent maiden can improve past her.

Intrinsic and Online Alexander rounded off a very glorious Goodwood for me. The key lesson for me was this festival is very similar to the Cheltenham festival in that horses who ran well in previous Goodwood festivals do so again. Happened all week and yesterday Ninjago and Flying Bear did again. Always knew course form was important and again that showed all week too. Think I pocketed close to £8k this week....
Chester 2.30 - Tick The Boxes 2/1 has decent form. I would have backed Roudee but Damscombe's horses look dead at the moment.
Chester 3.05 - Boomerang Bob 11/2 although Intranegent 12/1 might pop a suprise.
Newbury 3.15 - Power Play 5/2 big step down in class and should win
Chester 3.40 - Apostle 11/2 solid course runner and good draw.
Newbury 3.50 - Silk Sari finished close to Sultania at Haydock but then a lot further behind her in next race in same conditions, which might suggest slowing of progress. Cumani also rides Khione which is interesting as I can't see any speed in this race so if Khoine goes to the front and keeps the pace slow it may well suit Silk Sari. Either way I'm going to go with the progressive Wonderstruck 9/4 who has decent form and gets a decent 3yr old allowance. Lady Tyne 16/1 might surprise a few too.
Chester 4.45 - English Summer 7/4 - C&D winner and looks worthy favourite.
Newbury 4.55 - If you got back to Ascot form Bright Cecily 11/2 looks well handicapped.

Bets 02/08/2014 - Glorious Goodwood Day 5
The weather once again for at least the 4th
Saturday recently is going to bodge things up….although if you make money at
Goodwood today then good stuff as looks tough. Right off to a wedding...
Goodwood 2.05 – Urgh, tough. I can’t back anything that ran
earlier in the week here. Might go 1 from top, middle and bottom draw. Pandar
33/1, from the middle Baby Strange 33/1 and Confessional 20/1 who is my main
pick. All of these have good each way chances based on C&D form. Tatlisu 7/1 did beat Muthmir though!!!
Goodwood 2.40 – Kings Fete 3/1 was 16/1 for the Leger last
week so assume he must be rock solid today as in now 10/1. The form is decent, lightly
raced and clearly one who will improve.
2.55 Newmarket – Enlace 2/1. Was 11/2 last night
Goodwood 3.15 – Amazing Maria 9/1 gets a hefty 3yr
allowance, has won twice at the course and has now blown away cobwebs after seasonal
debut in the Oaks. I agree is a doubt about trip but
3.30 Newmarket – Rastanora 11/4 ran on well once shaken up
on debut and looks best of those with experience
Goodwood 3.50 – Horrendous. I’ve shortlisted to 15 horses!
Ha. Wow. First pick from high draw has to go to Intrinsic 8/1. Solid C&D
winner and the rain (if it comes) will help. That form has been franked so many
times. Muthmir 7/1 absolutely romped home last race and only got a 5lb rise.
Seems lenient by the handicapper. From looking at previous results this week
looks like it’s low draw that’s the key, so Hoodna 22/1 may have a decent
chance.
Newmarket 4.40 – Golden Town Evs a big win for me last time
and can go in again
Goodwood 5.35 – Online Alexander 8/1 decent form and had a
poor start in last race so good chance.

Bets 01/08/2014 - Glorious Goodwood Day 4
It better not rain today….
1.55 Goodwood - The return of Encke. Would be some training
performance but we know does run well here. Songcraft runs well fresh but not
convince about his performances at Goodwood. Quest for Peace was solid when
winning this race two years ago but looks to have regressed now. That leaves Pethers Moon 7/4 who has rock solid
form, noteably behind Cavalryman. Hughes can kick off Day3 in better fashion
for his shot at the title with a solid C&D winner
2.30 Goodwood – I’m not fully convinced by the 1000k so
cross of Lightning Thunder. Windfast has run well, What About Carlo is solid on
fast ground and a C&D winner, Rapproachment could be anything and recorded
a 96 RPR on debut which is phenomenal. Hors De Combat won a decent race at
Ascot but has a lot to find with Bow Creek now who must have a decent chance.
Wannabe Yours could be very good too, but I really think Hughes could double up
with Shifting Power 15/8. This is a
big step down in class and is definitely a Group horse already and it’ll take
something decent to improve passed SP. I just hope Hughes has recaptured his
form!
3.05 Goodwood – Not much luck for me in the big handicaps so
far minus the blind MJ backing. Ignore Pastoral
Player’s 25/1 last run as ground was not right. In previous race was a best
of those drawn badly, which means he is back to his best. He is a G3 winner and
has run very well at Goodwood before. Morrison is in decent nick and this claimer
Charlie Bennett is decent and is one to keep an eye on. From a low draw must
have a really good chance. Magic City 14/1
was well backed last time and after an unlucky race did very well to finish
second and well clear of rest of field. He loves big handicaps here at Goodwood
and Hughes has a really good chance to bring up a treble in the first 3 races.
I know I said I’d back Horsted Keynes till he won again, but was so poor on
Saturday.
3.40 Goodwood – Fast ground rules out Tropics for me.
Kingsgate might struggle to turn tables on Extortionist. I watched Moviesta 7/1 win this last year on
course and although was not blown away he is decent on quick ground. Ladies Are
Forever could get close but has work to do based on last years race. Stepper Point 12/1 a solid C&D
winner looks a danger
4.15 Goodwood – Looks like I’m relying on H/H combo again. Sunset Sail 9/2 looks ahead of mark and
can make all today. Son of Africa 12/1
is interesting based on debut.
4.50 Goodwood – Now I’m pushing my luck, but if Manderley 9/1 reproduces her Guineas
effort has a huge chance and can bring up the H/H quad? Surely not!. The Gold C
16/1 and J Wonder 8/1 are on my list too and will probably have a nibble, but
MJ has said Muteela 5/2 is his best
chance of the week.
5.25 Goodwood – Just for consistency another H/H; Cameo Tiara 9/1. Close enough behind
Arabian Comet who nearly beat Misunited yesterday suggests CT is ahead of mark.
~~
5.20 Newmarket – Autumns Blush 15/8
5.50 Newmarket – Day Dreamer 13/8
7.00 Newmarket – Zephuros 13/8
8.00 Newmarket – Cloud Nine 4/5
