Boom. Love it when a risk comes off. Segal is the one who led me down the route of taking a risk with dodgy jumpers. You do get better value as dodgy is built into the price, but with geniuses such as Yogi B around horses have a chance of leaving the dodgy behind. The Giant Bolster this season was a high profile example of this. Long Run last season, before he hacked up in the King George, etc..

Carlisle 3.15 – I’m banking on Denis O’Regan to be more positive from further out on Classical Mist. Just failed to catch Brixen last time out over C&D. Honest John is massively down in weight and get another 10lb off with Paul Bohan. Interesting if can get 3 places.

Carlisle 3.45 – Surely between top two in market?

Southwell 3.25 – Pelican Rock’s form behind Samasana in this class should be enough but I wonder if Bountiful Catch could be better value. Has stayed on over 6f here and 1m could be the answer.

Southwell 4.30 – Tough. Erza Church can bounce back on a quicker surface and reverse with Myboyalfie who is up 6lb for latest win. Imprimis Tagula annoys me and beat Ingleby Arch and has good form line, but no Joe Fanning today and hope the ground is too quick. Dickie le Davoir is decent but may want an extra furlong here but is a danger. The other danger is Andiamo Via but jockey booking puts me off.
