Bets 16/03/2012: Chelts Day 4

Wow wow wow. What a spectacle yesterday was. I have to book time off work next year. Appalling decision not to this year. Sir Des Champs is no doubt a potential future Gold Cup Horse - what a performance. Peddlers was not right, but he will inevitably bounce back, and I’m sure bounce back at a juicy price so keep an eye out. Riverside, Albertas and Medermit was a race and a half. Hats of again to Henderson and Barry. Good times. Anyone who doubted the class of Big Bucks was punished. I slapped everything I had in one of my accounts on him as soon as I saw it hit 5/6. It was Christmas come early. Part of me wishes I'd slapped more than £150 on, but I didn’t and the Bucks accounted for my £130 profit yesterday. I got carried away yesterday and although I mentioned all the winners and lots of places in my blog I did back a several mists of steam. Salut Flo and Sunnyhillboy wrapped up a poor day for the layers, but a great day for me J

Cheltenham 1.30  – I’ve already got Antepost money on several of these so can’t get involved any further as  much as I want to. Darroun, Dodgin Bullets, Urbain de Sivola, and a few others on Betfair. Whoops.

Cheltenham 2.05 – Nothing like a competitive handicap! Ek. Where to start. Citizenship has the profile to land the bonus, Raya Star is a solid consistent sort, Olofi has been tipped by Pricewise, Magnifique Etoile is a horse I’ve followed for a while and seems to have attracted early morning support, just as Ubi Ace whose trainer is SMASHING it, though only a recent recruit. Tough to pick out who I want to back.

Cheltenham 2.40 – All the rage for Boston Bob. Mullins has been raving about BB for a while now, but there are a couple of other interesting horses in Brindisi Breeze and Sea of Thunder who would have annihilated a field over C&D last time here

Cheltenham 3.20 – If Long Run wins, I’ll pick up a cheeky £1100, so may have to lay him but I’ve also back Synchronised Ante Post and Segal has tipped him up today, so either outcome would be great, but the former clearly more beneficial. I’ve not backed Kauto this season, to my own peril. I heart Kauto, but I can’t back him again. You have to worry about his age, his recent fall and the form of Nicholls. I quoted to the boys “I will not have Long Run beat”, so I’ll stick by it up that hill and just wish Barry was on board but with the stable popping them out no reason to look beyond these two even though there has been a lot of chat about Weird Al in the run up to this!

Cheltenham 4.00 – Salsify is interesting at the top of the market, but with no course form and such a wide open race keen to look elsewhere. I really can’t see anything I want to back. Roulez Cool was joint fav for this last year but was brought down so 16/1 is interesting.

Cheltenham 4.40 – Segal has tipped up Grandads Horse and Toner D’Oudaries the former of which was on my long shortlist! Can imagine the Henderson horse Oscar Nominee will be popular. Think will stick with Tom on this one.

Cheltenham 5.15 – Segal has tipped Slieveardagh who I gladly backed on his last outing. Looks to have a good chance. I’ll have a dabble on De Boitron as well and may well touch Lucky William (that sounds wrong), if the market keeps shortening. There are some interesting Henderson horses as well.
