Bets 07/04/2012

There are some wide open races today, so I could take a battering. Am I scared? Yes, yes I am! Want to head into Aintree with my ego intact, else I will bottlejob my genius.

Cork 2.50 – J Murtagh is onboard The Reaper who had a couple of great Meydan races, including behind Krypton Factor who has landed me a couple of big prices.

Carlisle 2.50 – Couple of theses ar not proven over fences so often difficult to assess. Rich Lord won’t like the ground so Degus Art it is!

Carlisle 3.25 – Although Sir T Hawk is probably the classs horse, will take a chance with Long Distance who is down in to 1lb higher than last winning mark (though technically 6lb lower with the claimer) and also down to a more suitable trip.

Haydock 2.25 – Taking a lot of the list due to ground. Extalar(18/1) looks tempting back to mark of 116 and goes well around here. That’s The Deal is 8lb out the handicap but 33/1 in also tempting seeing as won penultimate race giving a 10 length head start. Tiger O’Toole is on top of his game step down in class and return to good ground could see him through

Haydock 2.55 – Hada Men is a short favourite, and maybe justified, but this is a big arse-race

Haydock 4.05 – Sydney Paget will go well. Think will go even better on this ground.

Haydock 4.40 – Dom D’orgeval won this last year easily of the same mark and looks in good heart to repeat, although Wide Receiver will run him close

Kempton 2.05 – Segal has tipped up Fantasy Gladiator who might well go well, but I think Nazreef and Chapter and Verse are others to consider. With Ryan Moore onboard the latter, might be more value than Fantasy Gladiator although weights put FG ahead?

Kempton 2.40 – Night Lily was narrowly beaten in this last year, but there are a couple of class acts in this race in Law Of The Range and Sooraah who are rated far better though their prices are short enough already.

Kempton 3.15 – Segal has gone for Thimaar. Doesn’t normally go for favourites so might be something in it.

Kempton 3.45 – Might be worth chancing with Tactfully. You can’t not love the arrogance of Barzalona and the horse looked a force on his first race. Fingers crossed for the bounce back.

Kempton 4.55 – Taking a punt on Hadaj. Lengths behind Harbour Watch but that is horse and a half.
