Bets 19/04/2012

Yesterday was a tad butters. The form lines I had banked on, didn’t deliver. It’s very difficult to assess the improvements horses go through over the winter from 2-3 year old so I really should be waiting a few weeks until I get tucked in. That’s never going to happen though. The market moves did well yesterday but again I can’t sit and watch them so have to punt on what I know…

Newmarket 3.00 – Chance taken with Alkazim with both horses in front winning at the weekend. I totally missed the form line of Light Heavy and the market move on him at the weekend. Don’t want to fall short this time if this form works out well.

Newmarket 3.35 – Sirius Prospect won me some decent wedges in handicap races last year but failed to deliver one first start this season. One of my favourite horses is Genki and see no reason to oppose him on last year’s win in this race and form behind Dream Ahead. Segal has backed Elusivity.

Newmarket 4.10 – I backed Most Improved for the 2k Guineas at 25/1 and I’m not sure I want to veer away from him. The favourites do well in this race. Danger might be Forgotten Hero. (UPDATE: Most Improved NR)

Newmarket 4.45 – Ransom Note may struggle to shove of the penalty and I’ll stick with another one of my fav horses in Twice Over, but Segal has tipped Ransom Note up. He has done so in previous years, so may be an emotional attachment here!
