1.00 ~Catterick - Versifier 9/1ew
3.10 Catterick - Uncle Norman 8/1ew

Meydan
3.05 - Ektiyaar 7/4 still well handicapped assuming in same form as last year

3.40 - Far SKy 7/1ew.  Really tough as SBS chucks darts. Commanding bolted up last time but has a wide draw, whereas last time was (1). Dubai Avenue stuck it out really well being last off the bridle and does look a massive ew at 20/1, but Far Sky who reoppses him today is not drawn out wide this time and last time was first time up so one can assume a level of improvement. I thought about Spirit of Light at 50/1 but draw not great.

4.50 - Zakouski Evs ought to win off this mark. Assuming has been geared up to win today

5.25 -   Another tough one. If North America turns up, he wins. Muntazah probably needs the run like previous yeasrs. Secret AMbition, Rodiaon, Heavy metal and Kimbear all reoppse today, but annoying I was going to back GreatCollection. Not sure why a NR, but maybe because Watson thinks either Kimbear or Munty will win? Hmm. Going Kimbear 6/1ew

6.35 - Ureght another tough one. Firmament 12/1ew and Galavanise 16/1ew

Well that was another crossbar day. Solid handicap pick  of  Above and Beyond 9/1 flying from the back to be nosed off as was the strong looking Ibn Malik 7/2 in the last at Meydan. And to wrap up a 6/1 which also finished 2nd. Anyhow finding time after 2 years to put in the research hours is getting me close back to form.

1.20 Sandown - Chef D'Equipe 5/1 unlucky not to win last time out and Domaine De L'isle who was 7 lenghts back thast race went onto win by 10 lenghts next time out. Chef is also a C&D winner so strong chance.

1.50 Sandown - Even though Darebin gets a 6lb pull on Johnbb 7/4, having watched the race I don't think it's enough to turn the tables. Locker Room Talk will take on Darebin upfront and may not help his cause and Delire takes a drop back in trip which I'm not keen. (money back if finish 2nd on Skybet)

2.50 Lingfield - Petite Jack potentially a big price at 13/2, but Lady Bergamont 5/1, was running 100+ horse close at Lingfield last seen in a Listed race, so could have been a fluke or the surface adds some firepower. Obvs going for the latter.

3.00 Sandown - Gutted Wadham has a runner in this race as it means Leighton Aspell takes the ride on it and not on Dark Flame 15/2. Provided there's no bounce and this jockey I've never heard of can do it justice should go very close based on previous marks and last C&D run. Burtons Well 9/1 could be the biggest danger as assuming bounced last time and is now back on song and ahead of mark.

Lalor getting beat by a nose cost me over £8k! Anyhow...

Meydan 3.05 - A Momentofmadness is the obvious choice coming so close in couple of handicaps, but I'll chance the veteran Caspian Prince 6/1ew. A preivous course winner, and whilst on the decline it's last race in the G1 Derrinstown it ran above it's current mark so could have regained some quality

Meydan 3.40 - Tough one. New Trails ran a shocker before romping this race last year and again ran a shocker prior to today, so could romp again? Tried and Tuned last to first looks solid, and Festival of Ages was a top drawer younger horse, but I'll take a chance on Above Normal 9/1ew who also went last to getting close to winner last time out with step up in trip definatley going to be a plus.

Meydan 4.15 - Championship 18/1ew could be decent ew value back in handicaps of 102

Meydan 4.50 - Ibn Malik 7/2, but lavaspin could be a threat if returnig to form

Chelts 12.15 - Redford Road is the best horse on OR, but taking a step back in trip with stable struggling for winners and a 5lb penalty for winning a G2 race is likely too much. Grand Mongul could be anything but it's a stablemate I like. Welsh Saint xxx rousted a field last time out and given Some Detail was beaten at the festival last year by a similar distance by Envoi Allen and co then I'm hoping Welsh Saint 9/4 is going to be somewhere close to that league.

Chelts 12.50 - Cogry was a big winner for me last time out, but surely Singlefarmpayment turns the tables today with a 4lb pull. Another Venture brings strongish form but Chester Williams hasn't ridden a winner here at this tough course so I going to assume not massively fancied. Commodore looks too high in the weights. Anteros is a danger despite age, as has won a listed hurdle race at the course of a higher mark and won on this ground but on balance is old and has fallen too many times for my liking. Doing Fine was my cliff horse last year and is still well handicapped. Kingswell Theatre a threat back in trip but I think prefers better ground. On clear cut but SFP 4/1 brings the form and down in grade can take this.

Chelts 1.25 - Champ 4/7 is very short but looks like the winner here. Could have won by a massive margin had it not had 3 calamities.

Chelts 2.00 - Kalashnikov and Oldgrangewood bring strong handicap form to table but both pushed up the weights a fair whack here. Ok Corral taking a strange big step back in trip which is odd. Ballyhill would have won the race last year off this weight but in dire form so can't back it. Lalor was a big hope for Chelts festival horse last year and perhap if headgear works with step up in trip we'll see the real Lalor. Mister Whitaker had a decent end to the season and I'm tempted but until see him this year is a risk. Saint Calvados is likley to benefit from step up but the way Vaniteux nearly collared him couple races ago up the hill worries me. Cepage another huge threat as was closing quick enough over C&D last time but race not long ago and this step up in class. The horse that calls out is Ex Patriot. 4th in Triumph, easy winner of a handicap couple races back even if up in the weights and ran in couple decent graded races which plenty of potential.

Ex Patriot 11/1ew
Lalor 16/1ew

Chelts 2.35 - The Jam Man would have been interesting if second place had gone on to win, but looks like the 16lb rise might make it tough. Skandiburg looks ahead of mark and Anytime will do may have won last time out if didn't rock and roll all over the place in run in.

Skandiburg 11/2
Anytime Will Do 12/1ew

10.00am 01/01 update- given AWD is a NR will hit The Jam Man 11/2. Was much bigger when wrote above! Oh well

3.10 Chelts - Roskana 11/2

3.40 Chelts - Out of time, shouldn't bet but :) Quick Draw 12/1ew
