Bets 23/06/2018 - RA Day 5

Updated at 1pm

5.35 - FUnmac 16/1ew
5.00 - Victory Angel 16/1 e/w

e/w double on above

----

2.05 - Natalies Joy 6/4

3.05 - Crystals Ocean 8/15

3.40 - Tough. Van Beethoven 9/1ew, Mutawaffer 9/1ew

4.20 - Bound for Nowhere 14/1ew, Tinman 8/1ew

5.00 - Dreamfield 4/1

5.35 - Thomas Hobson 6/4

4.10 Ayr - Mrs Gallagher 11/4

Bets 22/06/2018 - RA Day4

Updated at midday. All done. GL

2.30 - Gutted about Gossamer Wings in the Albany, but Just Wonderful represents the form line

Just Wonderful 9/4
Byron Bay 33/1 ew small wager

3.05 - Elector gets a 7lb pull on Raa Atoll so odd over double the price. Going back in form Giuseppe Garibaldi looks pretty nifty

Elector 12/1ew
GG 8/1ew

3.40 - It's not normal to beat a 90 rated horse by 8lenghts over 6f, unless that is you are the winner of the commonwealth cup. It has been hugely hyped up so will need to have a cover bet! Sands of Mali decent winner for me last time but Invincible Army nerly won and with course form IA looks good ew nd holds Eqitdaar on form

Equilateral 9/2ew
Invincible Army 8/1ew

4.20 - Of the 3 guineass the English has to be the best after what Laurens is doing. Wild Illusion did the form no harm either so BIllesdon Brook looks a solid ew. Threading was a solid selection las time and I think will take to Ascot so will have a very good chance today. If Vercious had run this season would have backed it because beat a 100 rated horse VERY easily so this could be rated 112+. By Frankel. Hmm.

Billesdon Brook 13/2ew
Threading 16/1ew

5.00 - Di Fede Brings Urban Fox form. Agrorothea is potentially chucked in as close to Dathanna rated 101 so maybe another pattern horse in handicap. Hence has beaten Romanised so a threat

Agrotera 10/1ew
Di Fede 16/1ew
HEnce 10/1ew

5.35 - Dash of Spice bolted up last time out and Eyhallow can come from back to front of a strong pace. Watch this one fly down the home staright

Dash of Spice 5/1ew
Eyehallow 8/1ew

Bets 21/06/2018 - RA Day3

Mighty close to a 33/1 in first race yesterday.

2.30 - Only 3 of these are entered into a G1. Of them Land Force is potentially the better. Looks very speedy and return to 5f looks perfect. Glory Fighter next best; broke juvenile track record last time out and form working out

Land Force 9/1 ew
Glory Fighter 12/1 ew

Charming Kid was next on list

3.05 - All the horses I fancy are draw stall 10+ and that makes it tough. So take a couple of clues. Horse was sold on Monday for £300k and Dettori chosen this over another; Main Street. The other has to be Nordic Lights. Looked a strong grinder couple races back. Fluffed lines at York and didn't look to handle track

Main Street 16/1ew
Nordic Lights 8/1ew

Wadasafa was next on list but put off by draw

3.40 - Highgarden owes me bigtime. Hoping this CD can bring out best. Magic Wand also owes me :)

Great way to pick the horses!

Highgarden 20/1ew
Magic Wand 9/2ew

4.20 - Varizabad goes the distance and always a solid horse. Thought Torcdor would win for me on Champions Day but just pipped.

Stravdy should win this but unfortunately already backed these two (totally reckless)
Varziabad 6/1ew
Torcedor 14/1ew

5.00 - Ostillo was only put up 6lb for a solid win last time and could be pattern class. Qaysar cost me serious bucks last time. Convinced fluffed lines got hampered, go unbalance and then eased. Back again to make amends!

Ostillo 16/1ew
Qaysar 20/1ew

Crack on Crack and Sam Gold  will probably go close

5.30 - Cross Counter looks well handicapped on debut and stablemate Dubhe still looks well in. Downdraft potentially pattern class and might be the plot

Cross Counter 7/1ew
Dubhe 11/1ew
Downdraft 9/1ew

Bets 20/06/2018 - RA Day 2

Just about breakeven yesterday. Calyx was bloody good. I thought draw 22 would be against, but just shows how good it was. Anything else drawn high was battered.

2.30 - I was keen on Come on Leicester but having watched the match between Shades of Blue and CoL, I just can't see the tables turned, but COL is drawn 1 and SOB 22, so the draw might help do that. Cox has not had a winner in a while and the high draw has to be enough to be put off. I've already back Chelsea C @5/1 so have no interest backing it again at 5/2.

Servalan has the highest adjusted RPR in this race, is a Listed winner already and drawn well enough so much have a decent chance. Forever in Dreams form is impossible to assess but on paper winners follow winners and you'd think would be okay with fast ground being from Dream Ahead. Gossamer Wings also had something in hand when winning last time out with enough in hand. Kurious was interesting at a big price too based on form

This is a tough one. I might be tempted just to stick with the AP bet of Chelsea Cloisters. Will assess later

Chelsea C - 5/1 ANTEPOST
Gossamer Wings 33/1ew
Servalan 10/1ew
Forever in Dreams 16/1ew

3.05 - Big step up in trip for Nelson, Kew Gardens in awful form. Lynwood Gold doesn't;t look anything special. Draper Guild and Yabass held by Southern France.

Stream of Stars is a classic Gosden jump from maiden to pattern class wins, but this is The Queens Vase, can he really be that good? Hmm. The obvious one for me is Southern France, solid form and looks a stayer.

Southern France 5/1
Stream of Stars 4/1

3.40 - Hydrangea is bumping around in distance and has a G1 penalty. Aljazzi is next top rated on paper and was second in this last year so no reason why can't reproduce that solid effort. At a bigger price Urban Fox ran a solid CD time carrying top weight

Aljazzi 9/2ew
Urban Fox11/1ew

5.00 - I've got this down to 4. Saltonstall was 2nd in the Irish Licoln and won it's last race easily enough. Keyser Size was supposed to win the Victoria Cup post nearly winning the Spring handicap. Instead lost 6 lengths at the start and still only finished 4 lengths of the winner. Raising Sand another to fluff lines in Victoria cup but brings that solid form of Accidental Agent who won today to table. Interested to see Spencer has opted for Sands rather than Keyser. Finally Firmament. Came second in Victoria Cup on worst draw behind Gilamesh who has gone on to win. Well handicapped on old form. Solid chance if draw is okay.

Main bets
Raising Sand 20/1ew
Saltonstall 12/1ew

Cover
Keyser Soze 14/1
Firmament 16/1

They have watered so the draw bias may reverse today. So annoying, really fecks everything up. Might wait to bet on these

5.35 - Brother Bear was 4th in Coventry last year. May have got closer if didn't drift of line. Looks stronger now over further. Purser's formlines for me makes this horse top rated in race and price looks huge!

Brother Bear 22/1ew
Purser 16/1 ew

Bets 19/06/2018 - RA Day1

Urgh tough but final update below (2pm)

2.30 - Benbatl is top rated here. A Royal Ascot winner coming here after winning a G1 very easily. My concerns are SBS is not firing them in but he does say Benbatl is his best chance of a winner all week. Secondly his best efforts are arguably over 1m so step back in trip is a concern but not hugely? Lightening Spear has run some solid races at Ascot but not in this race for some reason and Bentabl still beats LS on formlines.

Century Dream is a live outsider, romping home last time and a CD winner but surely can't be good enough. The other to always assess is Limato but guess doesn't stay?

Bentable 5/1
Century Dream 16/1 ew

3.05 - Sergei Prokofiev looks decent but had to work hard enough. Scat Daddy has a solid record here but SP has not won over 6f yet so always a risk. Cosmic Law bolted up over 6f on soft so likely flattered by distance. Burj is held by Advertise, Dubai Legacy not run on fast yet. Ninetythreetwenty ridden a long way out to win last time. Chucked out a whole lot who didn't win last time out or weren't impressive in their wins.

Am left with Calyx, Indigo Balance, Advertise, The Irish Rover and Vange. I'd chuck out The Irish Rover only as fairly exposed now and fairly low RPR still. Will let Vange go too as probably got an easy lead in his romp. Then I'm left with 3! Calyx who just looks really very good, but drawn 22, Indigo Balance who looks decent and also Advertise who I whacked into the tracker after coming from last to first.

Indigo Balance 14/1 ew
Advertise 14/1 ew

Haven't worked out who to punt on yet. Hmmm

3.40 - Not sure dropping Blue Point to 5f is the right thing. Kachy is held on form. Washington DC was flying home and nearly beat Battaash and obviously won the Windsor Castle here.

Torn between Battaash and Lady Aurelia but likley I would side with Lady Aurelia. (I think!)

4.20 - U S Navy Flag? Thumped Mendo in Dewhurst. Slipped in France, too hard ridden

US Navy Flag 5/1
Wootoon 7/1 ew

5.00 - All the money seems to be for the Willie Mullins / Ryan Moore Chelkar. Not run for nearly two year and not run more than 10f, yet it's a solid fave to win a competitive 2m4f handicap at Royal Ascot. Hmmm. Might have a saver but I can't tip it.

Coeur De Lion looked unlucky not to win the Chester Plate and has solid credentials for today. Meri Devie has caught my eye after a solid handicap win at Punchestown but on form Lagostovegas wins. Minus the last race LTL is a solid 145 jumps horse, was 3rd in the Caserwitch off 91. Runs of 93 today but is 10lb better jumps horse this season, so gotta be of some interest

Coeur De Lion 7/1ew
Lagostovegas 10/1 e/w

5.35 - Yucatan is taking a huge step down in class and clearly runs best on quick ground over 10f. Put a total line through the Coronation Cup. Mirage Dancer is rated higher based on what I'm seeing and I think is likely best chance.

Yucatan 10/1 ew
Mirage Dance 6/1 ew

Without parole, rhodendan, calyx, lady aurelais trebs and quad
