Bets 31/05/2014

Woah so much racing. Too much too take in! Tom Pricewise Segal has gone for 5 today:

2.05 Haydock – Moment In Time 8/1
2.40 Haydock – Here Comes When 8/1
2.50 York – Long Awaited 16/1
3.00 Newmarket – Hadaj 10/1
3.35 Newmarket – Mighty Yar 4/1

Okay here goes….Lots of trebles on today!

Haydock

Haydock 2.05 – Cubinata 3/1 back in trip might be the one to beat with Astonishing not far behind although it’s not going to be easy with the 3lb reversal. It was also Astonishing’s first run back so might well reverse and Hughes reckons Astonishing sets the standard. Hmmmmmmm…

Haydock 2.40 – Garswood 7/2 was a big let down last time but no excuses this time. Top rated. The biggest danger might be last years winner Amarillo

Haydock 3.15 – York Glory 4/1 is going for the Wokingham again so really doubt he wants to go there with a higher mark. Steps is very interesting. York Glory should win on paper especially with 6lb in hand over nearest to rivals but not going overboard.

Haydock 3.50 – Parbold 2/1 can make up for unlucky run last time. Top rated, top form, top chance. Hughes reckons his ride and Shamson are the ones to beat though.

Haydock 4.25 – Lightining Moon 2/1 looks ahead of the handicapper and it was a very impressive debut winner

Newmarket

Newmarket 1.55 – Epithet 7/1. Speculative only.

Newmarket 3.00 – Another speculative punt. Hoodna 16/1 in first time hood who ran a very good Listed race over C&D. Clearly price is based on poor/average efforts on paper since, but, actually ran to mark in last listed race so not totally mad.

Newmarket 3.55 – Rye House 3/1 goes on this ground and I still think would have won last time out with a clearer passage. Mighty Yar’s form has been franked 4 times and Duke of Clarence arguably has the best form behind Arab Spring and earlier behind Gospel Choir. However best performances have been on better ground and didn’t run all that well at Newmarket last time, so sticking with Rye House who connections really like.

Newmarket 4.40 –Pretzel 9/2 could be massively underated here. The horse he beat on debut is now 107 (second to Barley Mow in a decent Listed race). If the horse has improved over the winter could be very very good. Glorious Empire has to prove takes to soft turf and Speculative Bid could also go close but not sure the form is anything to worry about.

Newmarket 5.45 – Stomachion 9/2 looked ahead of his mark last time. Looked like need that run. Top Diktat loses Ryan Moore to Stomachion which will be key to his chances. Not sure Flow has the formline to back up chances

York

York 1.50 – Any time Sirius Prospect 7/2 runs at York in a handicap back him. Might be a tad high today, but can’t see a major danger

York 2.20 – Clever Cookie 5/1 has been backed all night and all morning

York 2.50 – Monsieur Joe 11/1 could win again off this mark and Top Boy 10/1 is interesting if the amateur onboard can work some magic as could Magical Macey 10/1. Tough race

York 3.25 – Bute Hall 25/1ew and Itlaaq 20/1ew

Chester

Chester 3.05 – Purcell 3/1 if you can ignore last race

Chester 4.50 – Storm Force Ten landed me a decent win last time, but Captain Morley 3/1 was absolutely flying home. There are a couple of others who look well handicapped but Captain Morely has the Chester form and Koukash quoted him as being a future Chester Cup Winner.

Bets 30/05/2014

Another couple winners in the evening yesterday but I had my biggest bet on Tiger Cliff, so a bit down. In hindsight the way the market moved for Brown Panther should have told me I was mad. Anyhow...

Nothing overly exciting today.

Newmarket 2.30 – Miss Atomic Bomb 9/1 really looks interesting on this mark especially as Intikhab is known for soft ground preference. Only a half bet though as loads of unexposed horses and not one for an acc.

Newmarket 3.05 – If you pay 2.5m g’s for a horse it better be bloody good. Hydrogen 4/1 runs today and this week connections have stated that they have been backing this from 100/1 – 999/1 on betfair! There are a couple of good horses in this race so if he does win is going to be decent. Again only a half bet.

Newmarket 3.40 – Hillbilly Boy and Czech It out have the form on paper to win this. I’m hoping AA makes all and steals this from the front so going with Hillbilly Boy 4/1

Newmarket 4.15 – Famous Kid 5/1 goes on soft and looks on a good mark. Also think form is decent

Newcastle 6.05 – Harrogate Fair Evs

Haydock 7.30 - Bond Fastrac 9/2 ran a very good race after long absence. If doesn't bounce then big chance.

Haydock 8.35 - You're Fired 2/1 with Regiment following home

I’m going to try something out, with quarter stakes. It’s purely stats based on trainer form, trainer course record, trainer/jockey combo, trainer race type record and jockey course form. I’m not even looking at the cards. Will chuck a ton at it and see what happens. Statistically speaking at least two should win….

Brighton 1.50 – Gregoria 4/1
Newcastle 4.25 – Thatchereen 7/2
Newcastle 5.35 – Bourbon Prince 11/4
Stratford 7.50 – Oscar Prairie 4/1
Haydock 8.00 – Mount Shamson 15/2
Stratford 8.25 – Paint The Clouds 13/8
Catterick 8.45 – Cloud Monkey 22/1

Haydock 9.05 – Daydreamer 4/1

Thursday 29 May 2014

Bets 29/05/2014

Bath 3.00 – Principle Equation 5/4
Haydock 3.20 – Red Icon 11/10
Haydock 3.50 – Chosen Character 11/2

Will update for Sandown later

5pm update:

Two agonising second places this afternoon and one winner. Lets hope can get on top this evening:

6.40 Sandown – Tiggy Wiggy 9/4 with Roudee close behind

7.15 Sandown – Segal has gone for El Salvador. I remember winning this race with Gloomy Sunday last year @20/1! Think we have to take Brown Panther on as I not convinced about him staying on heavy ground. I think Tiger Cliff 4/1 has a decent chance. I’m not sure King would run him if he thought hadn’t recovered from last race couple weeks ago.

7.50 Sandown – Segal has gone for Sheikzayedroad. I’m going Sharestan 11/4

8.20 Sandown – End of the Line 5/2

Nearly a big win on Spas Dancer yesterday. Just a quick couple today:

3.30 Leicester – Nirva 3/1

4.20 Redcar Jack Luey 4/1

Monday 26 May 2014

Bets 26/05/2014

Solid win on Great Minds yesterday. Noble Mish and CDA also obliged, but my big acc included Vazira who must have been beaten by a very very good horse and is one to keep an eye on for the Arc.

Just one today:

4.15 Redcar - Spas Dancer 11/1 ew. The horse has been blasting home on so many 8f races. His last two jockeys also think he will stay the extra 2 furlongs. I'm banking on the ground drying out slightly and there has been no rain today and none planned (according to google), so at the price is worth a punt as the last two races are good handicap yardsticks.

Sunday 25 May 2014

Bets 25/05/2014

Curragh 2.15 - Great Minds 4/1 big ew 5 places
Longchamp 2.45 - Vazira 7/4
Lonchamp 3.15 - CDA 8/11

Curragh 3.20 - Noble Mission? 7/4 Always get this one wrong!
Curragh 3.55 - Vote Often 8/1 and Segal picked Ballybacka Queen 25/1

Saturday 24 May 2014

Bets 24/05/2014

Aptly Luck of The Game destroyed a BIG payout yesterday, but still quadrupled investments yesterday. The weather has ruined any confidence I have about today but heyho, here goes:

Haydock 1.35 – I don’t tend to do that well in long distance staying handicaps, but Entihaa 8/1 is in really good form as is his trainer

Curragh 1.45 – AOB mentioned I am Beautiful 12/1 in his stable tour as promising.

Goodwood 1.50 – French Navy 9/4 looks to have a favourites chance and we know is a C&D winner too. Godolphin’s horse cranking up the form now

Haydock 2.05 – Barkston Ash 7/1 and Trader Jack 8/1

Goodwood 2.20 – Gatewood 8/11 has not real competition how Pether Moon is a NR.

Haydock 2.40 – I’m just a massive Sole Power 5/1 fan and the ground conditions are not overly bad. He nearly won the Nunthorpe when was GS. Hot Streak might well become the new sprint king today but lets see how he goes at Haydock first. Sole Power beat him by a lot more than the result last time out.

Catterick 2.50 – Just Paul 6/1 and Hadaj 10/1

Curragh 2.45 – Maarek 15/8

Goodwood 2.55 – Wahaab 5/1 is Hugheys pick but guess must be ground concerns and I personally can’t see the mark as advantageous, but they know best

Haydock 3.10 – Gracia Directa 11/1 was second in this last year but comes here in slightly better form than last year so much have a squeak for at least a place

Curragh 3.20- Mustajeeb 7/1

Catterick 3.25 – Johnny Cavagin 6/1 and Solar Spirit 10/1

Haydock 3.45 – A number in here I like but Bilimbi 9/2 appeals the most. Definitely ahead of the handicapper and with Moore onboard can continue progress. Hot Coffee 33/1 is tempting at a big price for a place

Goodwood 4.05 – Debdebdeb is favourite, but Eshtiaal 7/1 destroyed DDD when giving a stone last year

Haydock 4.20 – Fun Mac 4/1

Curragh 5.05 – Piri Wango 10/1

Friday 23 May 2014

Bets 23/05/2014

Three solid winners yesterday and let’s hope the weather has ruined today’s prices as already a host of NRs

2.00 Haydock – Luck of The Game 11/10 could be miles ahead of the handicapper. If he is Sebastian Beach is too. They both romped 7 lenghts clear on 3 mid 70 rated horse.

2.50 Goodwood – Red Refraction 15/8 has the best form here and likes to come from the back which means you can always hit traffic or go too late. Hughes is onboard and he rides Goodwood better than anyone so he ought to time this perfectly. Czech It Out and Lord of the Shadows could be well treated but I still with Hughes on this one.

3.25 Goodwood – If Kalispell 11/4 runs as well as did at Newbury last October, she ought to blow this field.

4.00 Goodwood – I think Barley Mow might struggle with this distance especially on soft ground. Big fan of Observational too but that form has been fully franked. Marzocco and Signposted are rematching, but on this ground I think Signposted 12/1 might turn the tables here. Was definately travelling better for longer and step up will be in favour.

4.15 Haydock – Crowley’s Law 2/1 and Tea In Transvall both finished behind 89 rated horses, however TIT was not given a hard time when beaten and with Dascombe current form and form at Haydock preference is for Crowleys Law. Also this is first time out for TIT and some of hannons have needed first run

4.35 Goodwood – Intrinsic 3/1 looks very very tasty. I reckon he is about 10lb ahead of the handicapper.

Think a biggish trixie on Intrinsic, Crowleys Law and Luck of the Game

Thursday 22 May 2014

Bets 22/05/2014

Big win on Lawman yesterday. Can’t ignore a horse who wins by over 4 lengths with minimal effort and not lump. Will potentially be another winner next time out.

2.10 Goodwood – Hannon has won this race 5 times in last 6 years. Today he run’s Toomore’s half brother Estidhkaar 15/8

2.20 Ayr – Classy Anne 17/2

3.50 Goodwood – Russian Realm 11/10

4.25 Goodwood – Marshy Daisy 10/1’s form behind Bright Approach and Be My Gal is really very strong and closest to Listed level except for Secret Pursuit

7.00 Sandown – Hitting an RPR of 88 on debut was decent enough for me to go with Provenance 11/10. Clearly a workable mark.

7.15 Salisbury – Positive report about Lunarian 5/1

7.35 Sandown – Part of me wants to avoid this race but I’ll feel stupid if Munaaser 13/8 wins as looks on a decent mark.

Lawmans Thunder 6/4 and Jazz Master 4/1 will get some slapping at Kempton tonight

Tuesday 20 May 2014

Bets 20/05/2014

Some seemingly random race selections today:

Newcastle 3.20 – Lily Junior 7/2 ran a strong debut looking at RP ratings and was clearly inexperienced and will no doubt improve for step up . Haggas has travelled a long way with her and has a decent record at the track

Nottingham 3.30 – Heho 5/2 looks ahead of mark

Bath 3.40 – Tunnel Tiger 7/1 ran as well as expected on AW last time out. Back on turf looks a winner in the making on this mark. Saxon Prince may be the biggest danger

Newcastle 4.50 – Fieldgunner Kirkup 10/1 looked back to form last race and just had zero luck in running. On a very low mark now so can pounce.

Bets 17/05/2014

Boom 1 better than yesterday. One dead heat winner. Blimey, not cool. Only woke up at 11.30am today so won’t get much research in. Tom Pricewise Segal has goen for:

Newbury 2.40 – Bronze Angel
Newmarket 3.30 – Fear or Favour
Newbury 3.50 – Chopin

Just time for a few before head to Wembley!

Newbury 2.05 – FFS. Several horses who I absolutely adore in this, but none more so than Mount Athos 3/1. Batallion has done me wonders but needs cut in the ground. Sky Hunter has ground excuses last time, but SBS big boys are flopping at every opportunity at the moment. Month Athos takes a massive step back in grade, runs well fresh, has won at newbury convincingly so pay me back damnit!

Newbury 2.40 –Indignant 9/1 is ahead of  mark and I’m hoping hse improved over the winter. Represents inform trainers.

Newmarket 2.55 – Parbold 7/2 ran a blinder off top weight last time out and is top rated

Newbury 3.15 – Satellite 7/2 looks ahead of mark but have a note against Windshear saying ‘Group Class’

Newmarket 3.30 – Stomp 7/2 won very easily last time out and not has a 5lb claim

Newmarket 5.15 – Miners Lamp 7/2 still ahead of mark

Friday 16 May 2014

Bets 16/05/2014 - Dante Day 3

Woah. Blog whitewash yesterday and 4 ton blown on those posts. Was hoping to make it all back, and some on Quest for Peace in the last. After he got held up in traffic I thought I’d just have to accept the loss. Then, Mr Oliver, my new saviour pops up with a tip. Certavi 16/1. Legend.

Right, on to today and Tom Pricewise Segal has tipped the following:

2.15 York – Saptapadi 18/1
3.15 York – Lady Lara 10/1, Pelerin 12/1

Hopefully more than ZERO winners for me today….

York 1.45 – Two horse won their previous turf races very easily and are both liked by their trainers; Don’t Tell Annie 9/1 and Zuhoor Baynoona 5/1

Newbury 2.00 – Hadaatha looks decent, but Sound Reflection 10/1 and Lamar 12/1 both ran better debuts, have shed loads of experience and 100/96 OR respectively so Hadaatha will have to improve a shed load on only second race to beat either of them

York 2.15 – I was adamant Batallion was a shoe in last time out and ‘stable boy’ disagreed with me. Won easily enough. From the form Chancery 8/1 looks to have a decent each way chance. We know he can win at York too. Having seen hot favourites turned over, even though Arab spring on paper looks Group class he beat sweet fa in last handicap and 11lb at York might be his undoing. Probably not, but worth opposing at 11/8.

York 2.45 – I’ve missed out of Tac De Boistron twice now, but surely have to go against him on this ground? He needs juice and there ain’t any! Gospel Choir won me a decent wedge last time, but was not convincing at York last time. Glens Diamond has won this and come second, but I think today I’ll go with Ahzeemah 9/1. I like this horse a lot. We know he stays, we know he likes York and has decent consistent form.

York 3.15 – Adhwaa 12/1 has decent enough form to get involved

Newmarket 3.25 – Justice Day won this race last year, but I reckon Dougal 11/4 can turn the tables over the extra furlong. Assuming Hughes will ride too as KK been pulled out so he knows to go earlier this time.

York 3.50 – Piazon 10/1 looks ahead of mark although G Force has been hammered in betting.

Newmarket 4.00 – This is a tough one as there are loads of up and coming horses ahead of their mark, but interestingly Heavy Metal 20/1 who was rated 110,  might be worth backing after won again. It’s very tentative but at 20/1 worth the risk.

Newbury 4.10 – Charlton called out Hooded 6/1 as one to watch/will be progressive.

York 4.25 – Looks like a match between Dusky Queen and Patrona Ciana 8/1. Based on their first battle last August PC should beat DQ by 1.5 lenghts. Ha.

York 5.00 – Latin Charm 9/2 was beaten by a horse who was miles ahead of mark, so hoping he might be too. Def looks like will stay the extra distance well

Newmarket 5.05 – Angelic Upstart 6/1 has clearly improved, likes Newmarket and if decent form like his trainer.

Dundalk 6.15 – Nuts Johann Strauss is running in a race like this, but someone told me to back Bad News Bear 16/1 ew.

Hamilton 7.35 – Special Meaning 3/1 won me a decent race last time out and looks like the best handicapped horse here today

Thursday 15 May 2014

Bets 15/05/2014 - Dante Day 2

I’m convinced Rye House would have won had he not been blocked in. He came up to a similar position pretty much on the bridle last time out before bolting home. It’s even more gutting as Aetna and That’s The Spirit would have made a PHAT treble (325/1). Maarek was certainly pick-able (old boy Fats) , but I thought the ground and penalty would make it tough. Had a couple of horses that came stone cold last, which I prefer to just missing out on a win.

York 1.35 - Tom Pricewise Segal has picked two today in the first race Elusivity 16/1 and Normal Equilibrium 12/1. I’m going Bogart 16/1 and Desert Law 16/1. Desert Laws form in Dubai is rock solid but I do question poor run at York

York 2.15 – Tough but maybe Mango Diva 6/1 is the most unexposed here.

York 2.45 – I already have a decent position on True Story for the Derby and there has been more clipping in that market today. There are some decent looking horses in this race but sure would be much disappointment if True Story 4/5 lost.

York 3.15 – Tentatively on Spas Dancer 6/1 and Fury 5/1

York 3.50 – Justice Day 11/8 ought to be winning this and Astaire helped build up the form yesterday.

York 5.00 – I wild punt on Aviator 33/1. I look back to the Vadamar race, who is probably about 115 rated, over a distance Avaitor looks best at and think hello, could be well handicapped.

Newmarket 6.25 – Anything that beats Venezia 6/5 will be smart.

Newmarket 7.00 – Quest For Peace 4/1 returned to action seemingly well ahead of current mark and can take revenge for being badly hampered last time. Big ew.

Wednesday 14 May 2014

Bets 14/05/2014 - Dante Day 1

I managed to stay clean yesterday and no punting on average racing. York is always a decent meeting and CD form is always important.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost had tipped:

1.45 York – Lahaag 10/1
2.45 York – Lily Rules 16/1
3.15 York – Jack Dexter 6/1, Body and Soul 16/1

My go…

1.05 Saint Cloud – Shamkala looks decent

1.45 York – Big things were expected of Rye House 4/1. Gone big ew. Romped home last time over C&D and despite injury have faith Stoute wouldn’t be running without a chance of winning. Imagine will step up out of handicap company following this. Had a dabble on the Rye House/Tres Coronas forecast 40/1 too. Awake My Soul could get closer this time round at the weights to Rye House and Segal’s pick Lahaag was second in this last year, but all on Rye House.

2.15 York – Aetna 12/1 won me a decent prize 2 races ago but then lost me a few nice acss next time out. Hoping was the ground and returns back to the progressive horse she was as looks ahead of her mark. Lancelot Du Lac 10/1 is a solid horse and loves York. Ivory does well with these types and has an entry in Diamond Jubilee Stakes so must be held in high regard. On that form Picture Dealer might be a big price but has not run too well first time out before. Hmm one of many tough handicaps today. I have Secret Witness, Summaerinthecity, Yeeoow, Royal Rascal, Blaine and Baccarat all on the shortlist still. Fahey unsure about Baccarat on this ground, else would have been 3rd pick and similar story for Yeeoow. I really want to back Secret Witness but stable is in the dumps at the moment so will leave. Summerinthecity runs well fresh but maybe slightly high in handicap which is why I assume is a claimer onboard. Royal Rascal I’m sure has a chance but I’m not sure is well handicapped. Blaine 10/1 is being aimed at the Wokingham and to be safe will need a few pounds. Is a concern about the ground but reckon is worth chancing.

York 2.45 – Hmm tough. There could be a heck of a lot of pace in this which on this ground could blow some of them up. So I’m inclined to go with an outsider in Lady Heidi 8/1 who will be held up and like the ground. I know Channon thinks a lot of Nancy from Nairobi but really has to step up. Regardez might be decent as the only Oaks entry Beckett has, Cambridge has been well touted but are ground concerns. Could go on. Queen of Ice 4/1 looks decent as does Shama

York 3.15 – Segal has gone for Jack Dexter who has been laid out for the race. Maarek might not have the ground soft enough and has a big weight to carry. Astaire has a tough ask for a 3yr old, and I think the one to be with is Tropics 12/1, another Ivory  horse who has won here and is a G3 winner. Is also top rated.

York 3.50 – Think the top two in market are right. That’s The Spirit 4/1 and Tea Leaf 5/1

5.00 York – Gabrials Star looks short enough but if reporsoduces effort last time must be in with a shout. This is a tough race and another careful not to lose all your money race, but Fahey is mob handed as obviously wants to win this. The best of his looks to be Mika Mika 12/1. In good form on AW. We know he stays, know he goes on soft and has won here before. Ebony Express 12/1 also looked really progressive last year. Bumped into Esteaming and not sure what happened at Epsom, but every chance will improve again today in conditions likely to suit. Pligrims Rest and Astra Hall were also on short list.

Big bucks on Fascinating Rock. So close to being more. Hit results of 112224. Had the last one come 3rd and not 4th was a 30/1 pay out on the ew acc. No time to look today so just one race briefly glanced over

3.50 Donny - Personal Touch 7/1. Solid C&D winner which is important here. Won first time out last year.

Bets 11/05/2014

Segal hit form again yesterday with two solid winners and it turned my poor bets around. Not seen the races, but do need to analysis how went so wrong. A few today. Tom Segal has gone for:
2.08 Longchamp - Excellance 9/1
2.45 Lonchamp - Muwaary 12/1, Galiway 9/1

2.25 -- Whip Up a Frenzy is in my tracker but must be a mistake?

2.45 Longchamp - Karakonite 15/8 looks decent enough from this draw

2.55 Leapordstown - Brendan Brackan 15/2

3.25 Leopardstown - Palace 2/1, although there are two STS 3yr old kids in this. However Palace was the best 2yr old filly in the AOB yard and am hoping can improve again.

3.55 Leoporadstown - I had a large ew bet on Fascinating Rock 3/1 yesterday after I saw money for this in AP market for Derby and also think the form is the best.

4.25 Leapordstown - Shipyrad 17/2 has good handicap form

4.55 Leapordstown - Manhattan Swing 5/1

Bets 10/05/2014

Going to miss all the racing today but some good races worth looking at. Will look at jumps too purely because of Scoop6. £7.5m. Woah!

Haydock 1.50 – Big Easy 7/1. Big step down in class looks back in good nick. Tom Segal has tipped Broadway Buffalo 12/1 and Firebird Flyer 16/1

2.05 Ascot – Glorious Protector 7/2 is a decent consistent horse. If he settles under George Baker must have a chance of getting up soon in a race like this.

Linfield 2.20 – Casual Smile 11/4. Mother won oaks and is useful. Very good form and trimmed for Oaks

2.40 Ascot – Hmm. I’m going to go for a Baker double and hope Harris Tweed 6/1 bounces back. Is the class horse in the race and goes well at Ascot. Elidor 12/1 might be dangerous. I’m not convinced Pethers Moon will take to ground and had a pretty hard race last week.

2.45 Nottingham – Ha – joke race. Only looking due to Scoop6. Hmm. Taurus Twins 8/1 and Point North 11/2. Urgh. Rylee Mooch 16/1? Feck this

Lingfield 2.55 – Segal has tipped Snow Sky 5/1. Sudden Wonder or Western Hymn form. Which is better? Hmm. Well I will go with Sudden Wonder 7/2

Haydock 3.00 – Intibaah 15/8 looks decent. Some useful form behind him in last race

3.15 Ascot – Ribbons 9/4 def one to follow. Beaten by a decent 109 rated horse last time, so looks worth the price on a mark of 95.

Lingfield 3.25 – Only a few of these have race fitness, and the best of those is Soviet Rock 5/2. Although there could be something in here that has made a marked improvement over winter and we just don’t know about it!

Haydock 3.30 – Vibrato Valtat 9/2. Pricewise Segal gone for Dubawi Island 8/1

3.50 Ascot – In these big races, I’ve found just going to C&D winners/close calls on the right mark does you well. Don’t Call Me 33/1 looks a huge price as the handicapper has let him down to 95. He love Ascot, he loves soft ground and has won and got close of this mark over C&D. Segal has tipped this one too so doubley keen despite it being a huge field! Next is Heavens Guest 20/1 who has decent course form and is in good enough nick. Reckon more improvement from 3 to 4 was found and that 3lb claim could make all the difference. And finally Captain Ramius 25/1 who will love the conditions and is in good form and is another decent C&D winner.

Lingfield 4.00 – Unless ADRD has come for tea and scones Dalayna 3/1 could raid this. Walloped Easter Sky who we saw last week.

Lingfield 4.35 – Yourartidonfire 7/4 denied me a massive win on Kaka so can make amends. Best Form by far.

5.00 Ascot – Kinglami 7/1 looks like a big each way bet depending on draw. His course form behind Breton Rock, his very good 3lb claim and a good enough return could mean a decent priced winner.

Linfield 5.10 – Seek The Fair Land 12/1 comes here in good form and on a turf mark has won off before.

Evening Races but have not looked at races, literally read comments on my tracker

Thirsk 7.10 – Genius Boy 11/4 ahead of mark maybe
Warwick 7.55 – Sea Defence 4/6 ahead of mark maybe

Thirsk 8.10 – Famous Kid 4/6 Fallon likes

Shame I didn’t bag the tricast in the first race yesterday and was just lucky the 28/1 placed at end of day. The front runners really did dominate again. I just seemed to be getting screwed by the jockeys. You read previous races about them chasing the leader and making all, and then at Chester when you need them to front run they get held up. Go figure.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped 3 today:

Chester 1.45 – Laffan 16/1, Pintura 10/1
Chester 2.15  - Bow Creek 7/1

Woah a shed load of racing today and tomorrow! Could be costly!

Chester 1.45 – Some decent handicappers are letting me down at Chester this week and I really want to back Here Comes When but with such heavy ground and first race back probably not one to back, but I know what will happen.... I think Segal has picked a couple decent choices in Pintura and Laffan but part of me thinks Big Johnny D 7/1 in first time blinkers can continue good progress from last year.

Chester 2.15 – No idea so will stick with Segal’s Bow Creek 7/1

Lingfield 3.05 Double up could bolt in and before the rain I had lined up Ashkari and Amahoro who would have loved the quick surface as have proven they handle it and look ahead of their current marks are better value. Now Stomp 3/1 looks like a decent bet

Chester 3.15See The Sun 10/3

Lingfield 3.35Exceptionelle 4/1 looks a good bet here. Off the back of last race looks well ahead of mark

Lingfield 4.45Penny Drop 4/6 looks decent enough and now has enough experience.

Lingfield 5.20Winter Thunder 5/4 has the name of horse doing well but SBS did give a good word for this one.

Will look at Ripon and Ascot later...

Ascot 7.15Hillbillyboy 6/1

Bets 08/05/2014

Storm Force Ten was smashed in the betting and thankfully he saved a below average day. Also ended up having a wedge on Lawmans Thunder so not overly bad. Anything with Thunder in it seems to be running very very well!

Tom Pricewise Segal was torn a new hole yesterday but let’s hope he repairs it today:

1.45 Chester – Tres Coronas 9/1
3.15 Chester – Our Gabrial  7/1

Right, my turn…

Chester 1.45 – I can see why Segal has picked Tres Coronas, but I think he might be too high in the weights, but still let's go with it. That’s Plenty 7/1 looks rock solid from the Irish form line and trainer has done well at Chester. Makafeh may have improved over winter but might be tough ask on return but not totally dismissed. If Party Royal wins, Johnston will take over AOB on my allow yourself list. Sennockian Star 10/1 has to be good value to win again and the ground has turned in favour too.

Chester 2.15 – As reckless as this may be, I heart Telescope 5/2.

Chester 2.45 – I missed a nugget about STS 3yr olds yesterday. Can’t see any movement in AP Derby market except for some money on CB last night on Betfair. Stars Over The Sea 12/1 looks tempting on that and Johnston reckons has a decent chance. I just have to back both my annoying trainers and go for Carlo Bugatti 7/2 as was a very good race last time out.

Chester 3.15 – Fahey mentioned he thinks a fair lot of Brian Noble but doubts his professionalism and that was evident in his last race which he still somehow managed to win. There are a number of these who really could be ahead of their mark, but I’m willing to slap it on one and that’s the favourite. Muteela 11/4 looks decent and although got a hefty rise last time could still have more to come.

Chester 3.50 – Pah, any of these could probably win. Dascombe gave a good word for Red Icon 20/1 so why not, although he has not had a winner in a while now….

Chester 4.25 – Was pretty worrying Buick sat of the pace in the sprint races yesterday especially on Lucky Beggar. That really worries me about Jazz 7/2 today who must have a really good chance. Puskhin Museum 9/1 is worth chancing. If flops again then clearly turf might be a challenge, but if it was just the heavy ground then could be well handicapped

Chester 5.00 – Hmm tough one. Go with an outsider in Tepmokea 28/1 who won some decent races in higher class of this mark. Clearly based on last race will have no chance, but if bounces back to form has a decent chance.

Bets 07/05/2013 - Chester Cup 2014

The Chester Cup! A decent day of racing where is a lot of emphasis on speed and a low draw. Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has picked 3 today:
Chester 2.10 – Brown Diamond 10/1
Chester 2.45 – Brockwell 16/1
Chester 3.15 – Ballista 10/1

Right let’s go for the elusive clean sweep!

Chester 1.45 – Cheerio Sweetie 5/2 clearly holds all the cards with this draw and looks pretty decent too. I know Roudee 6/1 is drawn wide but Quatuor won from stall 9 last year but to me looks the best horse here and wouldn’t it be fitting for Roudee to win on the Roudee and the sponsor to win the race?

Chester 2.15 – I was keenish on Brown Diamond after Taghrooda bolted in but Segsal has already found her out, AOB just does my head and so will go with Bright Approach 9/4. That form is rock solid and obviously decent pedigree.

Chester 2.45 – Duke of Clarence 16/1 was bought for this race. The form with Gospel Choir and a couple of others makes this one look decent value. If Body Language had not run in that liasted race, think would have been a total banker, but he did and got whacked up 13lb. Mawaqeet represents McCain who has twice won this but both of those came fit from jumps. Glenard 10/1 is of interest. Has had a prep run and looked decent enough, Hills has a good record at this meeting and is in good form. Mubaraza 6/1 and Angel Gabrial will go head to head again but the former really must have a decent chance with the draw and 3lb pull.

Chester 3.15 – Go Nani Go 5/1 has a Chester maestro onboard, good draw, ahead of handicapper, in good form as is stable.

Chester 3.50 – This has to be between Prince of Stars 13/8 and Computer 11/2. Just don’t know which yet. Hills in decent form and reckons is a dark horse, but Gosden has won this race 4 out of last 5 times had a runner. Hmm.

Chester 4.25 – Lucky Beggar 5/2 is clear on ratings and has a decent draw. Can’t believe Buick will not try and make all. He is quick enough to do so and has won over 6f so stamina should not be an issue. Trinityelitedotcom 4/1 is targeted for big handicaps so needs a rise in weights and after Absolutely So franked form hard not to bet on and with the ground quick might actually be the better value as LB needs some cut.

Chester 5.00 – Storm Force Ten 7/1 improved markedly over the winter and this race has been his target for a while. Won pretty easily last time out despite hanging over 2f out. Hopefully will improve from that.

Away from Chester…3.35 Brighton Nesterenko, 2.05 Brighton Dougal 6.45 Kempton Lawmans Thunder 4/1 Treble

Bets 06/05/2014

Segal has tipped True Story 7/1 and Kingston Hill 14/1 for the Derby AntePost. Been there, done that and got them at 50/1 and 40/1 respectively. Gives me more hope he thinks they are good bets!

2.40 Kempton – Would be surprised if Despot 5/6 lost but Si Senor 3/1 would be the one to do it if any

It's clear all my big bucks turn up on Saturday or big race meets so sacking today off and will focus on Chester tomorrow!

Hughesie mentioned two dangers in the1k - Miss France and Ihtimal. After Esoterique beat Integral I had a strong suspicion Miss France was the one to be with. I slapped a wedge otn and each way so am now £8k up after 3 days. Nuts. A load of average racing today, but there's a few on my tracker:

2.40 Beverley - Rural Celebration 13/2. Can continue progress. O'meara said wintered well so fingers crossed.

3.15 Beverley - If Grapsed does not take to turf as well then Easter Sky 6/1 could be on a decent mark. Although finished 9 lengths to a decent horse finished 10 lengths ahead of the rest including a decent 79 rated horse

3.40 Warwick - Bousatet 6/1. Ryan reckons this on can sneak some black type so no back to conditions that will suit let's hope keeps improving

4.50 Warwick - I have a note about Nouvelle Ere 66/1 but no idea why?!

5.25 Curragh - I certainly underestimated Johnny M is big races last year when he was riding. I think it's wise to stick with his training career in big races. Chicago Girl 6/1 lost out to Flying Jib last time, but Weld reports FJ is not fully ready. Over 1f less also thought CG would have won which is the distance today. The other looks like they want slower ground.

Bets 04/05/2014

16/1, 5/1, 4/1, 5/1, 8/1, 5/2 winners and 10/1, 7/1, 20/1, 2/1, 4/5, 9/4 placed worked out at over £2800 profit, so £4500 in last two days. Booya! I’m even more delighted about not betting further on the big race. Knew was tough. The 5 shortest odds bets I had yesterday all failed to win and if I had not put £800 on Off Art I’d be over £5k up in last two days

Newmarket 2.05 РHmm. The best form has to be that Excellent Result race so has to be Caf̩ Society 5/1 and Elhaame 14/1. Segal has also gone for the latter

Newmarket 2.40 – Integral 11/8 is the class yes, but I was brave enough to take on the faves yesterday and I won and it might be, worth backing Zurigha 6/1 to upset again. However Stoute has won this race so many time would be naïve to think Integral is not ready to prove her top rating. Money is coming for her. The forecast pays 8/1 or Zurigha is 10/3 without Integral.

Newmarket 3.10 – Secondo has a good chance if has improved over winter, although Charlton says will improve for run. Seeking Magic 12/1 was a consistent handicapper last year with a couple of good wins. If has improved as much over the winter as Cox reckons must have a decent chance. Backing a 10year old in a race like this which seems a bit mad, but Jimmy Styles 16/1 was my pick in his last race and it was decent but he ran one of his best races over C&D this time last year. Yeeoow will be dangerous especially as his trainer is in form and Alben Star has best current form. Segal has gone for Zanetto 16/1 and out Do 14/1

Gowran Park 3.20 – Gorteo Evs

Newmarket 3.50 – I already have Bracelet, Rizeena, Lucky Kristale and Miss France Antepost so can’t back anymore! Segal has backed Lightening Thunder 33/1

Newmarket 5.00 – Sound Reflection 4/1 could be the one to beat Taghrooda Evs, but money for favourite in the Oaks this morning suggests otherwise

Newmarket 5.35 – Ganges 5/1

Oh Jessie Jessie Harrington. What a freaking hero. Thank you for my free £2k with Burn and Turn and Operating doubled. If her last would have won, I’d not have written this blog as I’d have been offski to somewhere hot. Anyhow, it didn’t and I’m here and there’s an incredible day of racing ahead.

2.05 Newmarket – There are two hopefully unexposed improving horses in this races. Rock Choir 7/1 who returns to handicap company on a decent mark. Only negative is last time he looked to lose balance in the dip. Hopefully Seb will remember that and control him. The second is Bold Sniper 10/1. Never had any chance at Goodwood so am ignoring that race. Segal has also tipped Bold Sniper and Niceofyoutotellme 16/1

2.20 Goodwood – Waila is 13lb clear on ratings and hood is back so must be hard to beat, but with the ground want someone who I know will stay and that’s Johnston’s Special Meaning 5/1

2.40 Newmarket – Sole Power 4/1 comes into this race in the same form as last year when he won this and is looking lively for a big ew bet. Iptisam 33/1 might sneak a place

2.55 Goodwood – Magic City deserves to be favourite, but you have to back Jacks Revenge 7/1 too as the Lincoln form is bloody hot right now. The last time these two met, Hughes the master at Goodwood was onboard Magic City, and am hoping that was the main difference.

3.10 Newmarket – If Trading Leather does not win Gospel Choir 5/1 looks decent value to find 10lb on ratings.

3.30 Goodwood – Long Awaited 7/1 is the class handicapper in the field. With Kirby on board on ground he will like must have a good chance. Pal Of the Cat has made enough $ for me so will pass on now but guess may continue to improve.

3.40 Thirsk – Back to the Lincoln form Off Art 3/1. Could be a big bet coming but Robert The Painter 33/1 looks pretty big too!

3.50 Newmarket – I have so many AP bets on this now and I basically win £100 whoever wins on betfair, but I have other AP bets too which I probably don’t remember. I think this is awfully tough. If O’Brien speaks to truth about Australia, this field will be beat. 7/2 might look a mighty good price in hindsight. Kingman looks class but is short in price and at Newmarket on debut didn’t look fully at ease at Newmarket. Toomore looks good each way value but the stable form is not overly great, but he was the top rated 2yr old. If you take Grey Gatsby as a marker then Kingston Hill 14/1 is a big each way price, but needs soft and is surely more a Derby horse. Segal has gone for War Command as have a few other pundits and AOB is no mug. Using Toomore as a marker then Ertijall 40/1 might offer some value. Even the Great Gatsby is not out of this. Glory Awaits was a massive 2nd at 150/1 last year. Tough betting race be great to watch! Coupon Buster.

4.05 Goodwood – Zibelina 2/1 looks decent and is a G3 winner in

4.20 Punchestown – I know jumps has been bad, but Tiger Roll 2/1 looked very good and probably still unexposed.

4.25 Newmaket – Strategic Force 9/1 looks tasty under the assumption takes to turf. Trainer said was ready to fufil potential now and on this mark has no excuse.

5.35 Newmarket – Born In Bombay 9/4 could be decent.

7.45 Doncaster – Kommander Kirkup 4/5 has best form. Dazeno bolted in of a mark of 90 in a C2H.

At Punchestown Segal has gone for Charteux 8/1 and Valmy Baie 14/1.

For the Kentucky Derby he has gone for Medal Count 33/1. I have back California Chrome AP and set to make £500 in rocks in as first part of a double has come in.

Maybe just a few jumps, but looking at the cards for tomorrow as priority….

Punchestown 4.20 – Ballinvarrig 12/1

And all of MJH horses, Operating 16/1, Burn and Turn 7/1, Steps to Freedom 50/1, Jezki 10/11, Rock The World 14/1

Rats. Up and down, up and down. Yesterday was a down. Annoyingly I really tried to avoid the jumps, and I did. Inevitably Boston Bob and Beat That, two horses I locked onto at Chelts won again. Oh well. In it to win. I was not.

Tom Pricewise Segal has gone for two today:
4.15 Punchestown – Sizing Machine 20/1
6.40 Punchestown – Felix Younger 8/1

A few more today for me too:

Redcar 3.25 – Chance on Johnny Cavagin 13/2. Likes soft ground and hope that Manchestar form is one to follow in this class.
Redcar 3.55 – Back to the GM Hopkins form. Sprit or Soul 6/4 looks on a good mark. Roseburg franked it. Kashmiri Sunset nearly did. Might consider a largish punt with a lay in betting
Redcar 5.05 – Everything looks pretty average expect Sherriff of Nawton 7/4 who looks ahead of mark. Obviously a question on ground and fact is running again quite soon after last race. Sticking with it though

May as well have some half bets at Punchestown J

4.15 – Ned Butline 4/1
4.50 – To say thanks and probably goodbye Uncle Junior 13/2
5.30 – AFC has cost me shed loads of cash so inevitably when I back Quevega 11/10 he’ll cost me more of that
6.40 – Balder Success 5/2
