4.20 - Uber competitive this but for me the best chance is Twinlight Son 4/1 £50. Drawn badly last time, with a 5lb penalty on ground too quick. Has beaten Magical Memory before and The Tin Man and was second to Muhaarar over C&D last year. Not sure why Sweeney held him up last time either. Gold Fun and Undrafted are huge dangers but for me unknown on ground

5.00 - Urgh - no time to look in detail. DInkum Diamond 33/1 25 e/w 6 places with PaddyPower. 5lb claim, drop from G3 backinto handicap which outran mark, back to 6 furlongs, goes well ascot, draw is good, 10lb better off with flash fire with claimer, so hopeful of a place here. The Happy Prince 20/1 £25 e/w AOB is smashing it, but this one on paper is very well handicapped based on form last year with a fair few decent ones. Looks ropey this year, but Ladbrokes are currently 12/1 and the rest are 16/1 - 20/1 so msybe they know?

5.35 - No one fancied Frosty Berry to beat Clever Cookie last time out. Clearly no one fancies her today either. Frosty Berry £25 e/w @ 20/1 has to be worth a bet if she hits same gear today

Pretty solid day in the end yesterday. After watching the Norfolk I'm not too worried about the low bias from the previous day. Watching the Britannia being drawn high didn't look a huge disadvantage

2.30 - There does not seem to be much money for Cuff, so not sure is as well fancied as others this week. Note AOB has never won the Albany and favourites don't do that well. Brave Anna is a typical worry bead 2nd string AOB nag, but just can't back it. Clem Fandango got merekd by Lady Aurelia so that kills Grizzle form. Romatic View, Kilmah and Bletccly are unknown on soft.

Create a Dream 8/1 £50 has has form hugley franked by Create a Dream. Queen Kindly 13/2 £50 is frankel so will go on any ground and I;m blinding following his crop like most. £12.5 r f/c on the two as well. I think I prefer Wesleys horse slightly on basis has won here at Ascot on softer ground

I'll have to put Cuff in some sort of Acc as will probably win now I'm taking AOB on!

3.05 - Hmm. The betting is as hard as it looks. Suspect worth waiting till closer to off and waiting for the money, but I don't have that luxury. Harzand is the clue here though. Choreographer 6/1 £50 was 9 lenghts behind Wings of Desire who was 7 lenghts behind Harzand. Beacon Rock was 8 lenghts behind Harzand, so surely Beacon Rock beats Choreo. No. Choreo was cruising in the Dante. Totally blocked and then was never tried with. Was only second run of career and handled softer on debut. Assuming progression and the fact his daddy is Sea The Stars I think Choreographers is the one to be with. Gosden has a couple in here. Linguistic looks held and exposed, but Muntahaa is massively unexposed just like Eagle Top was last year! If it wins, great but I can't take the risk, can I? Yeah I have to Muntahaa £25 e/w 12/1

3.40 Muhaarar last year was incredible. The AOB nags worry me again. Most of these won't go on the ground effectively. Quiet Reflection ought to win based on last run but the ground has to be a huge worry? La Rioja 12/1 £25 e/w looks huge value against QR. The G3 win as Salisbury was very impressive and form has def been franked. Cheikeljack 8/1 £50 win has some ridiculous form. Ribchester was 2nd in lasst race before being disquliafied and we all know about Richester!


4.20 I've been looking forward to Nemoralia 6/1 £50 for a long time. Jet Setting is by far the best chance here on the Minding form but I'm emotionally attached to Nemoralia. Alice Spings 12/1 £25 e/w is good value too. Nemoralia/Alice Springs  £12.50 r/fc 

5.00 - I have 4 on the shortlist but none are bankers. Rare Rythmn, Kings Fete, Ajmna Bridge, Felix Mendelssohn. Ajman is probably too high to win after being 2nd in this last year. Felix M is worht a very specualtive 33/1 £25 e/w as listed race at Ascot puts on good mark, but was shocking last time out so bit of faith needed. Kings Fete 9/1 £50. Looks a bit of a coup and well handicapped as last race was just softly touched. Rare Rythmn 8/1 £50 is chucked in but first race of season KF/RR £12.50 r f/c

2.30 Ascot - I've been keen on Global Applause for months. I'm not convinced is a banker on this ground and this competition but I'm sticking with it. GA 5/2 £100

3.05 - This is seriously tough, but look there's one formline that stands out and that Galileos Gold/Atwaad. Therefore going with Blue De Vega 6/1 £50. Lots of money for Prize Money

3.40 - Architecture on OR is like a stone ahead, but she only ran 13days ago in the Oaks so I can't do. I want to, but I just can't. Even Song 11/4 £50 ran behind Swiss Range who is solid. If that race was over 1m4f reckon would have won. Moore just needs to make sure does not let Architecture get too much of a lead

4.20 - Hmm. Order of St Geroge is top rated by 6lbs. Won the Irish St Leger by 11 lengths and the trial for it on soft very easily too. No reason to take on.

5.00 - I don't really fancy anything is this. Out and About 8/1 well backed, Palawan 66/1 drawn wrong side, but if reproduces from behind Galileo Gold is absolutely chucked in. Pacodali 40/1 also good form behind Awtaad.

5.35 - Again. hmmm. Shaaoh 5/1 has been smashed. Primivto 7/1 is chucked in. Bloody Harrisson 12/1 has cost me so much money following him. Guy Fawkes 9/1 is owned by the queen. ARGH. what to do? Think will go Primivto

Ascot 2.30 - After GG yesterday formline says Ribchester 10/1 £25 ew. Desai Jnr called Hills out today as had a decent day yesterday. Ibn Malik ew 10/1 £25 is worht a bet based on GG formline as well, but argubaly that was last year and IM will have had to improve significantly too. Hills thinks has as good chance as Dutch Connection who won last year. It's a sham Hanagon has switched though, but maybe that's a clue in itself. I'm hoping Gifted Master is not a gift horse in the mouth job, but was disappointed with run last time.

Ascot 3.05 - Lets keep it simple. Wesley Ward says best chance of week. The ground is fot but yesterday the class of supposed non soft lovers shone through. So, Lady Aurelia 11/4 £50 but Frankie will have move towards the lower draw.

Ascot 3.40 - Usherette has a penalty and whilst Fabre and Newmarket have a love affair, Fabre and Ascot is at the opposite end of spectrum Estorique ran so badly yesterday so passing over. Jazzi T step back in trip is odd. Miss Temple has no form on soft. Always Smile 9/1 £25 e/w has solid form with Convey and quite frankly owes me after throwing away he race last year at Royal Ascot#

Ascot 4.20 - A Shin Hakari 4/6 £100 looks remarkable. 10 length G1 winner

Ascot 5.00 - Balty Boys 16/1 £100 e/w 8lb lower with claimer than when 4th in this last year. Ellison banged in 3 winners from 4 runners yesterday. Reckon draw is good, ground will suit, big chance but has to bounce back to form. Instant Attraction 33/1 £50 e/w in solid form will love the ground and last one Secret Brief 14/1 £25 e/w as also drawn well, won the Lincoln well enough, and Battle of Marathon has gone on to nearly win a Listed race

I was up for some big wins this week, but they've all been rained off. Gutting. Worse I've only had 3 and a half hours sleep. Rain and work getting in the way retirement :)

We won't really know what the ground is like until the first race tomorrow. Going reports are always wrong so all bets are at huge risk. Big names have been pulled out this week so it must be soft despite the RP says good to soft.

Ascot 2.30 - Mulled over for a while. Tepin is being written off because of the ground, but that's reckless as is a G1 soft ground winner, but the lack of Lasix is a worry. Endless Drama held by Belardo. Estorique is solid, but run comes 10 days after prep. Kodi Bear is firmly held by Belardo. Ervedya has every chance and goes well at Ascot on the round track, but this on the 1m Straight on very soft ground. With a pacemaker and Toomore likely to provide more than enough pace for Belardo. So Belardo 9/2 £50 for me. Coral really think Estorique will win as 11/2 and other firms are 15/2

Ascot 3.05 - This is a tough one. I can't back Caravaggio at the price when know is not a soft horse racer. Mehmas is decent as beat my previous fancy Global Applause over this distance but has to be doubts about ground. I backed Yalta 14/1 antepost but can't be sure ground will suit now. Really because of the ground Psychedelic Funk 6/1 £50 has to be the angle. Using Ambuguity as the formline you could argue PF beats Cara, but Cara is very well touted but I've made my choice against the top 2 in the field. The only other that interests me in Mokarris 9/1 £25 e/w as hit 91 RPR on debut which is very good

Ascot 3.40 - No Acapulco, No Goldream, No Sole Power. 3 solid CD winners out due to ground. Frankly. Mecca's Angel, Jungle Cat are the shortlist Profitable. Meccas Angel has been hacked at due the price. People are writing was unlucky not to beat Profitable last time. Ha. Did they watch the race? Clearly not! I did as I lumped on Profitable and I genuinely think has the better of Meccas Angel, but the ground, yes might turn the tables. I already have ANTEPOST Profitable 5/1 £50, so guess it does not matter that I think Mecca might do him. I heart a formline and so Jungle Cat 20/1 £50 e/w who runs well here and is not too far off Profitable based on last time out and is fresher and I think has a huge chance e/w therefore.

Ascot 4.20 - Hmm. Good ground and would have smashed The Gurkha. Instead £50 on Awtaad 15/8. Looks a very very classy horse but that could be said for many of these!

Hopefully one lands, though several bookies offering 8/1 for Wings of Desire just to place so that can't be a good sign and we know is better on good ground. US I hope still has a solid chance. AOB has so many runner not worth me trying to pick one. Instead Across The Stars has form with So Mi Dar, will stay and has improved must have a squeak of a top 5 place with SKybet @ 33/1 and Clothe Of Stars 9/1 also solid alternatives

Epsom 2.00pm - Holy moly. Tough. Roll a dice job. However, the best race to date was the 10k c3 @ Windsor which Sea of Snow and no reason to think can't continue winning

Epsom 2.35pm - I originally fancied What About Carlo but Houghton hasn't won a race in 15 runners. Sennockian Start has won over C&D but most times pretty much come last. Could win of this mark. Pasaka Boy was off for a long time and not sure last race gave much away about well being but if is back has a huge chance. I can;t risk it myself. Darshini was really badly hampered last tiem out but was off the bridle a way out. I don;t think Felix De La Vega can turn the tables with Dark Red. Will go very close to winning again today, a solid C&D winner and looks a pattern type

Epsom 3.10pm - There is just too much concern around Arod and the ground that it's put me off. Good way to whack the price up!!! Soveriegn Debt is the nearly horse but def good places chances. Decorated Knight back in trip is interesting but again think needs better ground. Custom Cut second in this last year must go close again despite 5lb G2 penalty. Mindyourownbusiness cost me a fair whack on the AW Mile and despite being a C&D winner I'm going with Tullius. I don;t know how soft the ground is but Tully loves soft ground. Finished 3rd in this behind Arod last time but I think with the ground and first time visor, Balding and Fortune can team up again to win this

Melvin The Grate is consisent, runs in plenty of big handicaps    Alcatraz has a solid chance, big improver, Dutch Uncle went on to win C2 and is now betteer weighted and Weetles went on to run well in Listed so the form is rock. Melvin the Great and Spring Offensive were next on list
