Bets 31/03/2013

A few decent winners yesterday at Meydan. Hangover saved me from putting any accumulators on and having more of a go at Donny. So was my first profitable day in a while!! I’m a tad annoyed about not backing Jack Dexter but I’ll get over it.

Tom Pricewise Segal has had a punt at Ireland today:

Fairyhouse 4.30: Mikael D’Haguenet 4/1

Only a couple for me, but not really in the mood for punting today…

Plumpton 4.00: Court Minstrel 13/8  really ought to romp this but I will also punt on Constant Contact w/o the Fav

Plumpton 3.45: Browns Brook 20/1 was travelling pretty well over C&D in November for a long way before being a few out. The same again over further and then was a flop when tried chasing. This is a wild shot but the better ground might be the key.

Saturday 30 March 2013

Bets 30/03/2013 - Dubai World Cup

I’ve been looking forward to today all week, but Grey Goose and Verve have totally ruined that. I’m hanging out my freaking arse. Commentary will be short and sweet today…

Missed all the prices but Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has gone for:

Kempton 2.55 – John Biscuit 14/1
Doncaster 3.05 – Eshtibaak 10/1, Justonefortheroad 16/1

I’m not sot about how my hangover will judge the horses today…

Haydock 2.05 – On form everything points to Handy Andy 9/2. Tizzard says muscle problem long gone. Hope it has.

Haydock 2.40 – Softsong 9/1 has cheekpieices on today and that will definitely help his cause, but I really want to give Quaddick Lake 20/1 a chance. Put a line through the last race and he has solid form

Haydock 3.15 – Cloudy Too 10/1 looks the wrong price to me. If a horse flops at Chelts, you just accept it and put a line through it. He had more than the 8lb reversal with Ohio Gold in previous match up but it’s worring Smith is not in great form.

Haydock 3.50 – I’m usually against backing horses that get put up 16lb by the handicapper, but Rouge Et Blanc 6/1 smashed and I mean smashed the field last time out including Golden Chieftain who then went on to trounce the JLT by 10 lenghts.

Haydock 4.25 – Liberty Court 15/2 ballsed up over last fence last time so may make ammense and the other worth a punt on is Oscars Magic 6/1. Formline says it all.

Doncaster 1.55 – Frigging hell. Dubai Hill 10/1 could make it a decent day for WTDavies or Docofthebay 20/1 if the ground is decent enough reverse the form with him even though at the weights it doesn’t look possible.

Doncaster 2.30 – I know I said I’m following Jack Dexter but not in a Listed Race I’m not.

Meydan 1.45 – Tenenbaum 11/2. Trip up will def suit. I heart Barzy

Meydan 2.25 – Secret Number 7/4 does look like the likely winner. Shuruq 5/1 without Secret Number is uber tasty

Meydan 3.05 – Shea Shea 11/8 will eat this field. There is one to look out for though. Varsity 9/1 without Shea Shea

Meydan 3.45 – I’m feeling Mental 9/4. Renaldothewizard 7/1 without Mental is an insult

Meydan 4.40 – Really tough. I want to work this out. I can’t. Head hurts. Ahh damn alcohol! Couple of amazing international sorts but will stick to the proven C&D folk. Sajjhaa 8/1 and Mushreq 12/1

Meydan 5.20 – SNA is back. The horse that does me over ever time. I’m a big fan of Gentildonna 7/4. Jockey will have to be smart as first time up here but this horse is good, I mean really good.

Meydan 6.05 – I thought I was a bloody insult Monterosso was 16/1 for this race. Non runner. Sad times.

Rest after a serious freshen up....

2.30 pm update - Just seen the way the races are panning out. Only one more bet as think I'd lose a hell of a lot more otherwise...

Dubai Gold Cup - African Story 10/1 and Hunters Light 4/1. Both very impressive.

Thursday 28 March 2013

Bets 28/03/2013

Nailed one and double flopped on the other yesterday. I would never have called the winner. Another couple today:

Ludlow 3.00 - What A Warrior 5/6
Ffos Las 4.00 - The Bear Trap 11/8

Wednesday 27 March 2013

Bets 27/03/2013

Argh. Needed a few more yards to land the double, but fishing it the right area so all good. Hurry up Saturday! Dubai is mouthwatering. I should have booked flights...

Couple more today for the bant. I'm not looking forward to updating the P&L!

Lingfield 4.05 - I can't find a reason why Dorothy's Dancer 3/1 can't get up again except for the apprentice jockey. Go Nani Go is in my opinion second best so 5/1 w/o DD.

Southwell 3.45 - I've been stung by a couple of horses who have bolted up over C&D and then get beat next time out, but Hannah's Turn Evs looks like an decent improver.

Tuesday 26 March 2013

Bets 26/03/2013

Segal pulled through for us on Sunday which was very welcome. Nothing to get excited about until the weekend and although I was breifly tempted by Jupiter Rex at Fontwell today thought would keep the flat going so just a couple of bets and a double on:

Southwell 4.30 - Lexington Bay 5/2. I reckon he can have the favourite. (I hope too). Although Jacobs Son is a solid course winner on a hatrick, just think the hike in weights and step up might be his undoing.

Lingfield 4.50 - Wordiness 5/6. Looks decent based on last run.

Sunday 24 March 2013

Bets 24/03/2013: Irish Lincoln

I felt really positive after Donny on Friday. The Jack Dexter form I said I'd keep on side worked out with Personal Touch. Docofthebay was a NR but then came a decent second the day after. Annunciation franked some form I followed last year & Model Pupil hacked up. Mick's Yer Man annoyed me as I backed Bill Turner's horse in this last year but came 4th and I 'm not sure why I avoided the stats on it, but it was pickable! Mister Impatience was also pickable on handicap debut as was Gouray Girl on paper. The point I'm getting out is that there were far fewer 'how the feck did that win' horses than there seemed to be over jumps.

The Irish Lincoln today. I'm going to try and follow Irish form all season (TRY). Tom Pricewise Segal has gone for:

Curragh 4.30: Sweet Lightening 14/1. I can see why he has and I'll follow him, but the one I really like is Shifting 16/1. Hacked up in similar conditions on handicap debut and ran a blinder in a listed race next time out also on heavy. I think he is on a decent mark.

Friday 22 March 2013

Bets 22/03/2013

The start of the flat season! Woop! Today is a day where I know will be fraught with difficulty, but I’m always willing to take it on….

Doncaster 1.25 – A bunch of unknowns. You’d expect the market to be key and winners of this have generally been single figures. If it does know something then Vodka Time 9/2 (was 12/1 this morning is the one to be one). You can’t bet in this race unless you know something, but that won’t stop me and will probably be my downfall. Mops Angel 22/1, has little on pedigree, but is one of the oldest in the bunch, Appleby is having a good time of things and has a 17% strike rate here. Worth a pop? Probably not.

Doncaster 2.00 – Again, no idea how these have progressed over winter so should not bet, but yet again worth a punt on a course winner who is from the in form Hannon yard; Ronaldinho 9/4. I’d be worried about Arthur’s Secret on ratings with Toronado, but let’s see.

Doncaster 2.30 – Would be pretty disappointed if Model Pupil 4/6 lost this.

Doncaster 3.35 – This will be interesting. Already going to see formlines tested. I like Shahdaroba but this is a tough start to campaign on testing ground and didn’t overly impress at Donny last time. The two I can’t pick between is Annuciation 11/2 and Fortinbrass 9/1. Both had prep runs and both have workable marks.

Doncaster 4.10 – Big open field but sticking with a horse I know and like in Classic Colori 7/1. Decent form, decent mark and has solid course form.

Doncaster 5.20 – Less competitive than the 4.10 (I think). Jack Dexter form lines are definitely something I’ll look out for this season in handicaps, which ought to put Personal Touch in with a decent chance, but on paper not sure 7f is the right trip. Again I’m sticking with a tried, tested and proven horse in Docofthebay 5/1

Cheltenham Festival - Lessons Learned

One of my mundane, but understandable and uber useful, roles at work is to ensure future projects learn from past projects. Should be no different with punting. James Pyman wrote up his lessons learned in the RP today, so I'll piggyback:

1) Stick with your gut instinct on decent novices. The New One & Champagne Fever my two to take aways. I had massive hopes for both The New One and My Tent Or Yours hence the antepost bets @ 20/1 (both for supreme though). I bailed on The New One because of the bug at the Twiston Davies camp and I was worried about a similar impact such as on the Nicholls camp as the previous year. Nigel told us not to be worried. I didn't listen and The New One was 5/1 on the day. Ouch

2) Irish Form - You need to know it - The reason I didn't back Champagne Fever was not because I didn't think he was decent. My mind just couldn't compare form lines and I'm probably biased towards the English bunch. Mistake. This horse won the freaking bumper here, Mullins raved about him and it breezed up some decent sorts. Again was 5/1 in the morning. Another massive loss was Our Conor. He thumped Diakali with ease on previous race who is amongst the best juveniles in Ireland. Silly price. Yes, hindsight.

3) Sticking with Irish theme - Irish Novice Chasers - Except Simonsig we pretty much got shredded.

4) Antepost - I was better this year than last year, but there's little point unless a trainer has confirmed a target or you get NRNB/NRFB. I had The New One 20/1 antepost, shame it was in the bloody Supreme and not Neptune! BetVictor are doing NRFB for the 2014 festival. I took Big Buck 3/1 max bet.

5) Prep races - No biggie. If a horse is class it's class. Bob's Worth.

I'm sure there are dozens of lessons learned  but each will be different for each punter. These are the ones that won't balls me up next year....he says

Bets 20/03/2013

Everyone loves a last leg blow out. NOT. Just to keep the momentum going into Aintree couple more accs, but no singles:

Warwick: Power Pack Jack, Midnight Belle, Speedy Bruere

Haydock: Zaru, Thunderstorm, Simply Wings

Hurry up flat season. I need you....

6.30pm - Ha. This must be the two single most useless accs on this blog, EVER.

Need some flat love...Help me Kempton, please...

Kempton 6.45 - Littlecote Lady

Kempton 8.15 - Mystical Sapphire

Tuesday 19 March 2013

Bets 19/03/2013

Jockey Irish. Will hit an acc today:

Southwell: Luv U Whatever, Hannahs Turn, Stand Guard, Miako

Monday 18 March 2013

Bets 18/03/2013

Had a feeling Segal's tips were duff on Saturday. Thankfully took some sense and backed Faraaj. I guess Segal is not allowed to punt on short price favourites as generally little value. Anyway only one bet today and I've obviously not learnt my lesson about short price Irish favourites but:

Navan 2.15 – Bonisland 4/5 – form with Rule The World

2.20pm - When will I learn?!!!! I need to flat season now....

Saturday 16 March 2013

Bets 16/03/2013

Everything I thought I knew about Cheltenham got torn up and burnt this week. FML. Seriously. I don't  really have any excuses either. I'm avoiding the cards today and just followed Segal:

Lingfield 3.30: Viking Storm although I might actually back Farraaj

Uttoexter 3.50: Major Malaraky and Chac Du Chadran

Bets 15/03/2013 - Chelts Day 4

Merkage. Tom, you saved me from a white wash, 3 times. Good Old Boy!

This time last year I cleaned up; 4g of the good stuff. I’m not in form this time round but that’s not a prevention mechanism. I’m lumping. I slapped on a £100 e/w @ 10/1 straight after last year’s festival on the horse I said I won’t have beaten last year; Long Run. Though oddly and fortunately I backed the late Synchronised. Right let’s see what my current saviour has to save.

Chelts 2.05 – Princeton Plains 20/1
Chelts 2.40 – Our Vinnie 14/1
Chelts 4.00 – Galant Nuit 33/1
Chelts 4.40 – Village Vic 12/1, Bridgets Pet 33/1

Chelts 1.30 – JCB – Seriously, tough one. The favourite Our Conor is likely to be backed heavily after Flaxen Flare won, but that was in a handicap which he was uber lowly rated and the rest in that race Blood Cotil and Runcana didn’t go all that well in that race. Brave but I’ll take him on despite the Irish roll. Nicholls massively fancies Far West and there are obvious claims. I backed Lac Fontana 16/1 Antepost before Segal put it up and then his price went up and also Hidden Justice 16/1.

Chelts 2.05 – O’Brien County – Wow. The handicaps just get harder and harder. I’m taking 1 wild punt only – not throwing my money away again. Nicholls handicap hurdlers are actually doing pretty well this time round and I think Brampour 50/1 looks shockingly overpriced. His last 3 races were too far for him. Read the form below and you can’t not be impressed. In fact in the Greatwood ’11 Handicap over C&D he was a solid winner of 149. He’s technically on 147 because of the claimer, but that’s the only thing that’s putting me off. I’ve never heard of James Cowley but he’s been placed in nearly half his races; albeit only won 2 this year.

Chelts 2.40 – Albert Barlett - Our Vinnie 14/1 has a serious chance in this. His form has been massively boosted by Rule The World. However the thorn clearly is At Fishers Cross 5/2 who beat The New One, but again The New One was far from his best on that ground that day, but At Fishers Cross did show brute force up the Cleeve. R f/c.

Chelts 3.20 – The Gold Cup – As above I have £100 e/w on Long Run @ 10/1. That was my confidence on him this time last year. I still think he has a decent chance and I’m very hopeful of him placing at the least. If Silviniaco Conti had won a race at Cheltenham I’m sure he’d be odds on after having beaten Long Run and routed The Giant Bolster. I’m on a recent fan of him and if he hacks up, which many people have an inclining he might, we’ll all kick ourselves, but the hill has to remain a worry. I was all over Sir Des Champs for this before the race and I’ve backed him all season long to win this. I can’t do it though. Firstly because poor Old Boy Davy has someone bust a lung and it’s a farce that McCoy has wangled his way onboard but secondly I already have £200 on Long Run. I don’t rate Cape Tribulation. Maybe I’m being harsh, but that’s my choice. Wayward and Monbeg surely can’t finish in the money. I think The Bolster is out of his depth in this field. Captain Chris has a squeak of a place but his horses are just not game at the moment. And then there’s my boy Bob’s Worth. What a freaking hero. However, I genuinely believe his lack of a prep race might do him. After all this I’m still with Long Run. I think a tricast is in order though with The Henderson 2 and Sir Des Champs.

Chelts 4.00 – Foxhunter – Flip a coin between top 2 in the market; Chapoturgeon and Salsify. Baring no accidents full expect them to finish it out at the end again, but my hunter chase knowledge is 3/10.

Chelts 4.40 – Martin Pipe – There is one stand out in this for me. Kells Belle 33/1. Either there is something wrong with her I don’t know about, either I’m being really stupid or the 6 lengths behind Quevega and hack up in higher grade handicap over C&D were both flukes. Make your own minds up! Art Professor 28/1 who ran a blinder in this last year coming from the Williams yard off the same mark as last year also looks far too overpriced for me. Also in great form winning last race; albeit luckily.

Chelts 5.15 – Johnny Henderson – Bloody hell. Where to start. Tetlami 18/1. Goes at Cheltenham, higher mark over hurdles, must have a chance. The other one I just have to go with is Shooters Wood 18/1. I know Nicholls has not bagged a chase win in a LONG time here but he must have a chance on current form and at the weights with French Opera is the better value.

Thursday 14 March 2013

Bets 14/03/2013 - Chelts Day 3

Feck, I got lucky with Segal’s Flaxen Flare rocking in at 25/1. The Sprinter, Sizing, Wishful trifecta paid 8/1, but everything else generally flopped….(still profit though)

Today Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped up:

Chelts 2.05 – Jetson 16/1, Stonemaster 20/1 (although really annoyed as this was 33/1 on Wednesday and was going to be my punt, still will be)
Chelts 4.00 – Cantlow 8/1, Tartak 28/1
Chelts 4.40 – Romanesco 11/1
Chelts 5.15 – Sacree Tiepy 20/1

My thoughts are the favourites could do some damage today....

Chelts 1.30 – Jewson – I’m sure many will pile into Marito; another Walsh/Mullins combo, but looking at the ratings given to Back In Focus, Lord Windermere, Boston Bob and Tofino Bay all who point to a stack of horses here, mean that Dynaste 7/4 is the worthy favourite and I hope he hacks up.

Chelts 2.05 – Pertemps – Nicholls nearly won me a decent prize with Caid Du Berlais yesterday and I think he has another decent shot with American Trilogy 18/1, who is back down the weights and won at the festival before in 2009. Stonemaster 20/1 also has a decent chance in this. He was unplaced in the Coral Cup last year but he got going far too late. When he got going he flew. Hopefully he’ll be sharper in blinkers. The only other problem is Sam Winner. Nicholls reckons he’ll have a stone in hand, but is it worth backing at the odds. Hmm.

Chelts 2.40 – Ryanair – My question has to be. Can Albertas Run reperform again? Not sure ground is firm enough and he’s a proper old boy now. I remember First Lieutenant 5/2 nailing Rock on Ruby in the Neptune (on the line) a couple years back and I think this is his best trip. He is in very good form so hope another favourite can oblige. I get Cue Card wrong all the time, but just have a gut feel that it’ll be FL’s day.

Chelts 3.20 – World Hurdle – No Big B L . I still shocked but impressed by Reve De Sivola, but not interested in him as it won’t be heavy enough for him. Henderson has faith in Oscar Whisky but I’m not convinced. When he hacked up over 2m5f he beat jack all. Hate Peddlers. Get Me Out Here won’t stay. Smad Place is actually interesting at his price if it continues to dry, but just like Fats I think 9/1 Bog Warrior could be a steal. He has been dumping on everything he’s raced in Ireland and I reckon this could be a mental day for Davy Russell.

Chelts 4.00 – Byrne – All over Ballynagour 4/1

Chelts 4.40 – Kim Muir - After Golden Cheftain bolted up tried to find some form line. I got to Frisco Depot 16/1 but in hindsight not sure was a decent idea and I’ll return back to one of my favourites Galaxy Rock 14/1. Super Duty might be one for an acc.

Chelts 5.15 – Glenfarclas – No originality from me. Arabella Boy 9/2. Just hope he stand up! Anyone who likes number crunching will see that Leac Du Scail 25/1 is overpriced, no?

Wednesday 13 March 2013

Bets 13/03/2013 - Chelts Day 2

It was pretty difficult to focus on punting yesterday with my body in pieces but still pulled it out the bag thanks to a few short price favs and placed big price antepost bets. Mullins is clearly the trainer to follow for the rest of the week and lets follow the money from Ireland. Also should keep remembering previous festival form – Ruby is a freaking hero. Genius.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the RacingPost has gone mental today with bets:

Cheltenham 1.30 - Rose of The Moon 18/1
Cheltenham 4.00 - Un Beau Martin 20/1 and Abbey Lane 9/1
Cheltenham 4.40 - Bordoni 11/1, Flaxen Flare 25/1
Cheltenham 5.15 - Shield 16/1

I'm going to the doctors after which I'll put my punts up.

12.30pm update. It's going to be a hard day....

1.30 – National Hunt – A fairly easy one for me. I’m a big Back In Focus 7/2 (Paddy). Top rated, Mullins is obviously the trainer to keep on side and this horse looks like he’ll stay, stay and stay a bit more. Pipe has a decent horse in Buddy Bolero but this is not a handicap, i.e. a Pipe speciality so is intriguing has lined up. Godsjudgeme cleary has the best British form but back to Back in Focus – he has landed several graded races including a G1.

2.05 – Neptune – I agree that The New One does look decent and I’ve been a fan for a while. I’m just not convinved that he is that special at Cheltenham. I think he looks a much better Aintree horse. I’m not fully convinced by The Chatterbox and we saw yesterday that beating MTOY when going head down, especially when you have 5lb in hand isn’t overally knock out. I might be being harsh which means could lose out on a 12/1 shot but irrelevant of all of this for me this race is and Irish 1-2. Pont Alexandre is subject of another Mullins gamble and I’ve already followed the money from between 2/1 and 13/8. The one to give him the most to think about is Rule The World who looks worth a pop at 7/2 without Pont Al. Segal is all over Tarquin Du Seuil. I can see why but I’m locked in on Pont, Mullins and Ruby

2.40 – RSA – Hmm. Hadrian’s Approach looked like he may well have beaten Unioniste but for a slip up towards the end. However there is no course form. I can’t have Unioniste at the price despite course form as he did get thumped by Dynaste. Have to say taking Dynaste out of this race is very interesting as does Pipe think he has a winner in Goulanes? Although he won here I wasn’t overly convinced and he may well struggle with lack of experience over fences. Mullins looks to have another strong hand with Terminal, but more so Boston Bob 5/1 who was 2nd in Albert last year and looks like he’ll whizz up that hill when he gets going. I also think Houblon Des Obeaux 10/1 who will also fly up that hill. He has decent consistent and could cause the upset. Might hit the reverse forecast button.

3.20 – Queen Mother – Only a brave person would back against Sprinter Sacre 3/10. I’m not betting and I don’t think there’s any value in the winning distances market either as they will give him the easiest race possible to take him to Aintree next month

4.00 – Coral Cup – There are so many in this race I want to back, but I’ll try to limit to 4. The 2 big outsiders first: Orsippus 40/1 is a Grade 1 winner over hurdles, has had 2 decent festival runs and has been given a much easier time in preparation for this race. I reckon there will be a couple of horses better handicapped, but 5 places available and I hope he can squeeze into that space. Any Given Day 40/1. Less keen on this because I’ve never heard of the 7lb claiming jockey, but again has decent form at the festival and 2m5f looks optimum over GS. More realistically Cash And Go 16/1. Can’t believe market is ignoring a Hendo/Gerathy combo. Ran a decent race in the Racing Post Hurdle, but doesn’t have festival form and the other I like is Meister Eckhart 16/1. Does have decent festival form and looks a decent enough weight.

4.40 – Fred Winter – Tough. Am sticking with Segal on this one but may take Caid Du Berlais 25/1 as an outsider

5.15 – Champion Bumper – Again tough and will stick with Segal and the Mullins bandwagon and tap Union Dues 8/1

Tuesday 12 March 2013

Bets 12/03/2013 - Chelts Day 1

Just got back from Vegas. That place is messed up. I love it. I'm going to have to skimp on punting today due to time, but still on it....

Cheltenham 2.05 - Supreme Novices – Jezki has flopped here and at Navan (closest thing to Chelts in Ire), regardless of fact beat Champagne, can’t have it. I’ve already got a few of these AntePost including My Tent Or Yours at 20/1. Also have River Maigue 12/1 thanks to Segal, Puffin Billy and so should stay away from this. Un Atout 7/1 looks special and Mullins has been raving about this one but Mullins also has Champagne Fever who all the money seems to be for. Hmm a tough starter. Not putting any off these in my accs!

Cheltenham 2.40 – Arkle – With the ground as it is you have to go with Simonsig 8/13 as short as he is in the betting

Cheltenham 3.20 - JLT - I've already backed Merry King 14/1 and Our Mick 12/1 antepost. Think I backed The Package too, but can't rememebr. Segal has tipped up Merry King 7/1 and Poole Master 40/1. Have no time to try and crack this one. Boo

Cheltenham 4.00 - Champion - Wow. Tough again. The ground would worry me about Rock on Ruby. I can't have Zarkanadar at the price anymore and he doesnt have that 4lb allowance this time round. Cinders needs better ground. Balder and Khyber can't be good enough. I think Hurricane Fly might be hard to beat today on this ground, but I'm going to go with Paddy and bet on Grandeout and Binocular. If Hurricane wins I get money back, so easier choice.

Will come back to the rest later...

Cheltenham 4.40 - OLBG - Quevaga outght to hack up again. Segal has backed Swing Bowler which is  a decent idea but the ORs say it all

Cheltenham 5.15 - Handicap Chase - The Druids Newphew 7/1. Decent form for at least a place in this.

Bets 09/03/2013

In the one place I shouldn't be, or maybe should be before Chelts; Vegas. I'm hanging. I'm only down $100 after 4 hours of punting. To be fair don't really like casinos. Can't use knowledge against them unlike at the geeeeeee gees.

Meydan 1.05 – Snowboarder will be suited by step up in distance. He got going late behind Soft Falling Rain last time out.

Meydan 1.40 – Based on OR and previous C&D form you have to go with Sole Power but marginally.

Meydan 2.15 – If Krypton Fact loses I’d be pretty disappointed.

Meydan 2.50 – Await The Dawn looked far better than I expected last time out, in fact hacked up last time out.

Meydan 3.15 – Not really checked this out properly but hopefully another favourite obliges; African Story. Moonwalk in Paris is def a huge danger.

Meydan 4.00 – Again, not really checked out, but another fav? Surely not? Hunters light with Monterosso the danged, but hopefully needs the runs.

Meydan 4.35 – No reason The Apache can’t win again.

Sandown 3.15 – Not looked at the cards, but Mr Mole 7/2. Blind bet based on fact hacked up last time.

Bets 06/03/2013

Ah, gets worse. Yesterday backed 3 donkeys and a pony

Fontwell 2.10 – Noble Friend 5/1. Nicholls is smashing them in and although looks average over the flat, he had a similar sort in Elevenses who bolted up. Sometimes speculation pays off, sometimes you look stupid. Meh.

Fontwell 3.10 – Mic’s Delight 8/1 didn’t take to chasing as well as hurdlers to no surprise to see him swtich back. Case to say just not in good form but has run well fresh after break and has won listed handicaps of higher marks.

Fontwell 3.40 – Hopefully Speedy Bruce 10/11 didn’t fluke his last run and can hack up today

Fontwell 4.10 – Lienosus 8/11 is miles ahead on paper

Fontwell 4.40 – Current Climate 10/11 placed

And today’s just for jokes bet goes on the r f/c for Sannibel and Renoirs Lady @ Lingfield 3.00

Total Staked £240.00, Total Returned £117.82
£30.00 Lienosus 8/11 - WIN £51.82
£15.00 e/w Mics Delight 8/1 - LOSE £0.00
£30.00 Speedy Bruere 10/11 - WIN £66.00
£30.00 Current Climate 8/11 - LOSE £0.00
£15.00 e/w R F/c N/A - LOSE £0.00
£30.00 Renoirs Lady 3/1 - LOSE £0.00

Backed a donkey yesterday. Happens.

Exeter 3.00 – Presenting Arms 4/1. Huge field yes, but best form by a way with Mr. Mole, King’s Lad and Home Run all lurking and on a fair mark as long as continues form. Fry stable going well too.

Exeter 4.00 – All form lines and weightings suggest Abnaki 15/8 should oblige.

Southwell 2.40 – Hot Sugar 7/1 – on trainer stats

Southwell 5.10 – Seamster 2/1 – on trainer stats

Not a great weekend. One small speculative bet today:

Ffos Las 4.00 - Pause and Clause 16/1. Running okay and actually the form is better than you'd think at initial glance. Step back in distance a definitive positive.

It’s been a while since I smashed a tricast and it’s seriously good feeling when it comes in. More Meydan today and some very good jumping in store too. Sadly am going to miss all the racing again but hopefully I can come home to a few more pounds ready to plough into Cheltenham in 10 days time! Ahhh

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped up 4 today:

Doncaster 2.25 – Mr Moonshine 8/1, Quentin Collonges 16/1
Newbury 3.15 – The Pier 16/1
Newbury 3.50 - Garynella 5/1

My thoughts in couple of hours after some grub….

9.45am update...

Meydan 2.50 – Tamaathul 9/2 can bounce back today in handicap company

Meydan 3.25 – Could be fight on the line between Rerouted and Free Wheeling 7/2, with the latter just getting vote. The main danger could be Zafeen Speed but he not raced for 2 years so would have to be mega primed, but if he is he could breeze this at the weights

Meydan 4.35 – No reason Con Artist 6/1 can’t win again after a strong win last time. Daddy Long Legs may be a threat but not seen how he’ll fair in a handicap yet.

Meydan 5.10 – Musir let me down last time and not convinced he bounce back. A speculative bet on Royal Ridge 11/2 who has decent form, looks on the upgrade and De Kock must think highly to step this one up into Group racing.

Meydan 5.45 – Royal Empire 5/6 looks a worthy favourite with Kassiano and Mushreq form.

Doncaster 2.20 - Toubab 6/4 will be a different horse now the ground has turned good

Doncaster 2.25 – Not interested in Mr Moonshine tip Segal gave out but will back the other one. There is a case of most of these and I feel like an a overly outrageous bet on Lord Villez 66/1 but for me the winner is Night in Milan 7/1 who came thundering home here couple races ago, ground is better and step up good news

Doncaster 3.30 – Aaim To Prosper could hose up and Nicholls reckons it’s his best chance of the day. It is speculative and everything points to a solid run but I’m rather hit Barafundle 5/1 without ATP. That form is rock solid. Possol is a horse that has cost me a lot of money in the past and hope he doesn’t hack up of a very low mark.

Doncaster Acc – Havent’t backed Themilanhorse as could get too tactical but will put him in, Ma Filleule who def not worth a single at 1/3 even if is a banker and Toubab pays just over 4/1

Newbury 2.05 – The Water Garden 7/1 would have needed first run back and now technically 10lb lower in lower class race. Could be a big day for Pipe.

Newbury 3.15 – Segal’s pick, but ordinarily wouldn’t bet in this race.

Newbury 3.50 – Despite this race being dominated by Nicholls, everything points to Garynella 9/2; the Cheltenham entries, the tipsters, the trainer comments, the money, etc. Have putter a bigger bet on the place but Pepite Rose is the main danger

Newbury 5.00 – Marie Des Anges Evs

Also thrown Aaim To Prosper and Harry Topper into a few accs :) Good Luck!
