Fit The Bill, Rockfield Last, Bow and Arrow Treble was just under 4/1 this morning

Wednesday 29 April 2015

Bets 29/04/2015

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped:

5.30 Punchestown - Ballyganour 12/1
6.40 Punchestown - Turban 16/1, Baby Mix 16/1

2.25 Ascot - Gifted Master 5/4 landed a RPR of 92 on debut. That's good. Whatever beats this one will be good

2.35 Pontefract - Fallen For A Star 4/6 looks the best in this field

3.30 Ascot - A whole bunch of top class stayers and the one I like is Hidden Gold 7/1. I was gutted didn't win the AW Marathon but I'm certain that was the draw and a slightly poor ride. Looks like a decent horse in the making. Stomachion is interesting but will stick with Goldy.

4.05 Ascot - Limato 6/4 made me bucks last year and until I see a different horse I'm not shying away. Certainly not going as big a £1k like last few bets on him but on paper in 3 lenghts better than the rest of the field.

4.35 Ascot - Mondaliste has looked decent for O'Meara and was 5lb heavier when being beaten by Mooharib 9/2. But Mooharib was behind horses and was in top gear later than Mondaliste. Moo also swung right and looks a Group horse in the making. At the prices willing to take Moo ahead of Mon.

4.40 Lingfield - Orlando Rouge 13/8 on best form wins.

7.30 Lingfield - Lightening Spear 5/2

Tuesday 28 April 2015

Bets 28/04/2015

Segal has tipped:

4.55 Punchestown - Cliff House 16/1, Henry Higgins 14/1
5.30 Punchestown - Flemenstar 20/1

I'll have a few today too...

2.45 Nottingham - Artful Prince 15/2 has a decent claimer on arguable best conditions and track for the horse.

5.10 Newcastle - All form points to Gin In The Inn Evs

5.55 Chelmsford - Falcon's Song 2/1

Saturday 25 April 2015

Bets 25/04/2015

The start to the flat has been inevitably hard, but it's not going to stop me going at it.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racngpost has tipped a few today:

2.20 Haydock - Extemity 7/1
2.35 Sandown - Home Farm 20/1
3.50 Sandown - Unioniste 14/1, Algernon Pazham 25/1

A few small bets today....

1.45 Ripon - Norab 4/1 is going to make all and no one will (hopefully) catch up

1.50 Haydock - Barefoot Dancer 3/1. G1 entry

1.55 Leicester - Soapy Aitken Evs loads of money for it

2.55 Haydock - Gold Sands 5/4. G1 entry and Yard like this horse

4.00 Ripon - Pinzolo 5/2 romped last time out

4.15 Leicester - Lost a lot of money on Aljamaaheer 5/4 last year. Willing to lose more as big step down in class

5.20 Leicester - Storm The Stars 7/4 annoyed me last time. Time to make amends

6.30 Doncaster - Twisting Hay 7/2

7.45 Wolves - Remebrandt 8/13

9.15 Wolves - Alkwan 8/13

Friday 24 April 2015

Bets 24/04/2015

1.20 Doncaster - Kung Hei Fat Choy 25/1 e/w is massively lower on turf mark and histroy shows capable of winning around this mark so 25/1 is far too big

1.30 Sandown - Segal has tipped Purple Rock 4/1 as he think is better than mark of 85. At this stage I'd rather back Tom Hark 5/1 who is fit and showed a few times is already better than mark of 88. Form with some decent horses.

1.50 Doncaster - Aabir 2/1 looks good enough to win a race like this based on last race

2.00 Sandown - Postponed wants 1m4f, Tullius is much better on soft, Ayrad maybe wants a bit more give as does Western Hymn. That leaves Cannock Chase 9/4 who looks smart

2.30 Sandown - Here Comes when needs bit more cut, Custom Cut has a 4lb penalty, as does Bow Creek. Shifting Power 9/4 gets the vote

2.50 Doncaster - Edgar Balthzar 11/2 and Gold Flash 11/2 are decent

3.00 Sandown - Cape Clear Island 5/2

3.35 Sandown - Waady 2/1

4.00 Doncaster - Noble Asset 7/1 can resume winning ways on the right ground

4.45 Sandown - I've been passed a whisper that Jack Hobbs 11/10 is better then Christopermarlowe who won well recently

Wednesday 22 April 2015

Bets 22/04/2015

2.10 Epsom - Long Awaited 9/2 ew
2.45 Epsom - Instant Karma 7/1 ew
3.20 Epsom - Christophermarlowe 8/11
3.55 Epsom - Segal has tipped What About Carlo 9/2, I go Imshivilla 10/1
5.05 Epsom - American Artist 15/8

Tuesday 21 April 2015

Bets 21/04/2015

Kempton 3.20 - Courier 8/1 massive chance if claimer is any good
Kempton 3.55 - Celestial Knight 4/1
Kempton 4.25 - Elizona 5/2

Monday 20 April 2015

Bets 20/04/2015

Pontefract 2.10 - Tawakkol Evs - Positive debut, ran green, should use experience to win

Pontefract 2.45 - I can't choose between Express Himself 5/1, The Character 18/1 and Spohiesticated Heir 12/1 but I'm not sure the favourite is that well handicapped.

Pontefract 3.20 - If Supplicant 4/1 finds best form wins this and Yeeoow 5/1 will take advantage of any misfirings

Pontefract 4.20 - Beardwood 11/8 showed enough on debut to win this

WIndsor 6.20 - Need a hacksaw and 2 hours to pick the winner of this. Quick scan and Muir Lodge 16/1 based on form long while back and Fear of Favour 8/1 based on Eatern Impact form on Turf (obv not from AW)

Sunday 19 April 2015

Bets 19/04/2015

Praise Segal for a 33/1 winner yesterday. Saved my bacon. Last few days have had loads of losers and then 1 big winner which keeps me alive.

Today Tom Pricewise Segal has tipped:

3.50 Curragh - Sovereign Debt 4/1
4.50 Curragh - War Singer 10/1

May as well try and keep formline tabs on Ireland too...

Curragh 2.20 - Fishermans Blues 5/1 e/w

Curragh 3.20 - Shipyard might prefer quicker ground, but I think is best horse in race. Dashwood 10/1 looks overpriced. Great Minds franked form of Curragh race and last race was drawn wrong side. 10lbs lower than the Curragh race now, so big chance, but trainer form is something to worry about.

Curragh 3.50 - Due Diligence could blitz these lot, but suggestions from last year and AOB is that will need this race. I'm surprised Brendan Bracken is 16/1. Poor old Sovereign Debt 4/1 should have won the AW Mile but got trapped in. If he's in the same nick he wins this but Sruthan 6/1 won't be a push over

Curragh 4.20 - Parish Hall I think requires quicker ground but has a 5lb G3 penalty.. Geoffrey Chaucer 5/1 is a nuts price. Should have won the Derby trial last year. I know AOB starts slow, but decent horse

Curragh 4.50 - Papa's Way 11/2 could make all again

Curragh 5.20 - Los Barbados 5/2

Saturday 18 April 2015

Bets 18/04/2015

Scottish Grand National Day, but more importantly more awesome flat racing.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped:

Ayr 2.35 - Bertimont 16/1, Pearl Castle 16/1
Ayr 3.45 - Wayward Prince 33/1, Man with Van 33/1

I will have only one bet on the jumps, rest full focus on flats

Newbury 1.15 - If Mahsoob 4/1 is as good on turf as on AW, and assuming usual level of progression to 4 years old then could win well

Newbury 1.45 - All form points to Romsdal 7/4

Thirsk 2.10 - Whispered Times 14/1 ran a few pounds ahead of mark in a seller last time, is now race fit and C&D winner an low draw so good chance

Newbury 2.15 - Tiggy Wiggy Evs is 15lb clear on ratings and the way she won races last year suggests extra furlong won't be an issue

Newbury 2.50 - Ivawood 13/8 looked classed last year an sure was only beat by the ground.

Thirsk 3.20  - Ingelby Angel 10/1 well handicapped in form when last seen, good record at course and for a trainer bang in form

Newbury 3.25 - This one's tough, but Gabrial 8/1 is still well in. Last year I had £250 e/w on Brownsea Brink 12/1 and might have it again. Just not as much this time :)

Ayr 3.45 - Al Co 14/1 and Trustan Times 16/1 based on last year's run

Newbury 4.35 - There are two horses entered in Group races. Keble and Intiaaq. With Varian horses having a mare Keble 9/4 after decent debut last year is the pick

Friday 17 April 2015

Bets 17/04/2015

Punting on maiden races is a mugs game, therefore I am. Every year I have the same battle with myself. Not sure if it's the ego, the addiction or stupidity, but either way the last couple of days at Newmarket I've handed over 8 unnecessary races to the bookies. Thankfully hit a 10/1 and 3/1 in the midst of it all so losses were minimal. The only positive is I've watched all of the races in the evening and notebooked a few potential sorts.

Ayr 1.05 - Different Gravey 11/10

Newbury 1.50 - Victoria Pollard 6/1 e/w. I know this is a maiden (don't do it!), but Balding in form, entered for the Oaks and something odd in the Oaks betting. 22/1 with one firm but 66/1 with the rest. Clue or error?

Newbury 2.50 - Oooooty Hill 6/4 looked really really impressive on debut

Newbury 3.25 - Vesnina 14/1 e/w still looks a few pounds in, even assuming no improvement from G3 race in September. Has a course win to name as well. Capel Path looked impressive but not sure what beat and maybe high mark to start with. The reverse forecast with Strong Chemistry pays 60/. Strong Chemistry's form is very good and if has grown up and learned to settle is on a decent mark.

Newbury 3.55 - Last year's Lucky Beggar winner supposedly needs some underfoot so will pass up. Varian's lot look a bit dodge at the mo so will leave Steps. Whilst Robot Boy ought to win this, Green Door has a lot of potential to be better this year. The form that both GD and Boom The Groom have is uber strong and both are feasibly handicapped. However, Noble Storm 25/1 e/w does not like Beverley or Doncaster not GS ground. What he does like is GF 5f and Newbury and if age is not taking toll looks a big price

Newbury 5.00 - I've a got a Ceaserwitch trial winner, a C&D winner and a horse who loves quick ground in a C4 handicap at 11/1 e/w - See and Be Seen. To be this price must have broken a leg or fact that stable is in dire straits. Does worry me cheekpieces have been taken off. Let's see.

Newbury 5.30 - Oh dear, at it again. Maiden punting. But Tidal Moon 10/1 e/w ran a decent debut and will strip fitter than the rest

Bath 5.40 - Some Show 6/1 e/w was flying at the end of last race so any improvement over winter gives this one a chance.

Bath 6.10 - Demora is being back fairly heavily but not convinced is upto Listed level and might be better back in handicaps. If a 3yr wins this I'll be surprised, but if one does it'll be Zuhoor Baynoona. That really leave me with the Cox pair Milly's Gift 4/1 and Musicora 9/1. The former has a brilliant season last year and on form has best chance. The latter will improve (I hope) as most sprinters do at 4yrs old and that last race is solid form.

Thursday 16 April 2015

Bets 16/04/2015

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped 3 today:

3.30 Newmarket - Watchable 14/1
4.05 Newmarket - White Lake 9/2
4.40 Newmarket  - Mondialiste 9/2

Fair to say I had a mare at Newmarket yesterday and only a 10/1 shot at Beverley saved me from a white wash!

1.45 Newmarket - Nidnod 7/1

2.20 Newmarket - Fallen For A Star 5/1 from Sea The Stars

2.30 Ripon - Soul Brother 9/1 ran 3 incredible first races. There's a chance the ground has been too quick on the next 3 occasions. Not today, so no excuses and could be a decent price as reckon could be 7+ pounds ahead of mark. Similar story for Nezar who was rated 96 at peak

2.55 Newmarket - On paper Secret Brief 2/1 wins. Bossy Guest franked the form yesterday a whilst can't predict fitness, whether will stay and improvement of others SB has the beating of those he beat last time but hardly a lump job

3.05 Ripon - Lesha 6/1 based on run at Chester wins this.

3.30 Newmarket - I had a fair amount on Astaire last time out, but Naadiir absolutley destroyed that race. I'm not sure whether being sheltered from the head wind helped or whether was just massively outclassed. Lucky Kristale looks a huge price based on her 2 yr old career over 6f, but Music Master 9/4 is the form pick and top rated.

3.40 Ripon - Was pretty chuffed when nailed Moonlightnavigator 12/1 couple weeks ago. Reckon Tadqeeq 5/2 can frank the form

4.05 Newmarket - Was pretty disappointed with Nafaqa over C&D last time and whilst the form is solid means ought to tread carefully? Hmm. There's a couple sprinters stepping up to a mile in War Envoy and Kool Kompany, but what these speedsters might do is set up the race for the most unexposed horse in the race; Moheet 7/2. This horse could have won this debut by 15, 16 lengths and whilst only a weak maiden winner might be worth a chance

4.40 Newmarket - I like Arod, but I think French Navy 11/4 is the one to beat. Arguably should have won this last year and is top rated today

5.05 Limerick - Only the boys will know why I am backing Neverushacon 10/1

5.10 Newmarket - Hundi 9/2 has all the experience needs and has come up against two decent sorts. Has no more excuses unless is something very good again in the field

5.40 Newmarket - Using Game Pie as a maker I reckon Muqtaser 11/2 can beat Mohatem, but the latter could have improved more over winter. Who knows!

Wednesday 15 April 2015

Bets 15/04/2015

Nearly a 2k double yesterday! It's early season so can be a few odds results, but sticking with the formbook.

1.45 Newmarket - Am focussing on those with fitness and experience and any newcomers that win are worth keeping an eye on. Hills has not won a race this season but I think he might with Hakam 11/4. Was a decent debut against a decent Appleby horse. He is shorter in the betting for the Gunieas than Akeed Champion so odd that AC is the fav today.

2.20 Newmarket - No reason to take on Ravenhoe 6/4 against a bunch of debutants

2.55 Newmarket - Can't back the Warrior because it looks likes needs heavy ground but is race fit. Using Secret Brief as a marker Bossy Guest beats both Heartbreak Hero and The Warrior with Ballymore Castle not far behind. Encore D'or 8/1 e/w had a Middle Park entry last year so must be pretty good and Astrophysics nearly beat Beacon so the form is solid. His last race on paper puts him rated above 100 so big price I reckon

3.30 Newmarket - Faydhan ought to win but is uber short at 2/5

4.05 Newmarket - Segal has tipped New Providence 10/1, but I this is full of amazing horses and I like Beautiful Romance 5/1

4.40 Newmarket - Very tough. Peacock looks class, but I'll take a punt with Festive Fair 3/1. Whilst it's a marked step up looks to have that class turn of foot and is obviously more race fit than others, but I think Golden Horn 9/4 might win too. Hmm. Might stay away and watch it.

5.10 Newmarket - Golden Horn and Storm The Stars 7/4 formline might be the answer. Next Approach sounds like a combination of phenomenal horses so you never know....

5.40 Newmarket - Surewecan 14/1 beat the bookies with this MJ nag. On best performance which was over 6f is well handicapped. So many could have improved over the winter and only insiders will know. The money suggest Spiriting has..

Beverley 3.05 - Bogart has everthing in favour today but Pipers Note 10/1 e/w and Singeur 10/1 both offer much better value on these marks

Beverley 3.40 - Russian Heroine 6/1 e/w will definately be suited by step up in trip and assuming growth over winter is well handicapped

Cheltenham 3.15 - Alternatif 4/1 is huge based on what Theinval did at Aintree. Form is rock

Tuesday 14 April 2015

Bets 14/04/2015

A few punts on the flat for banter:

2.20 Southwell - Eva Clare big danger if now back to fitness after first run but Misu Mac 7/1 e/w looks ahead of mark and finished miles ahead of 3rd place last time and drop to 5f could suit

4.30 Southwell - Khajaaly 9/2 e/w looks ahead of mark on this track.

Saturday 11 April 2015

Bets 11/04/2015

The Grand Lottery time again. After watching all 3 of my picks in the Topham get hampered and fall I don't have any high hopes for the National today, but it's good banter.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped:

Aintree 4.15 - Rocky Creek 10/1 and First Lieutenant 25/1

Right lets see how much can lose today :)

1.30 Aintree - Nicholas Canyon and Parlour Games should take all the beating, but I fancy Ballybolley 28/1 who is 2-2 here and looks a spring horse. Has a lot to find but not impossible

2.05 Aintree - Solar Impulse 9/1 might make all and be hard to catch at this track

2.50 Aintree - Everythin says back Cole Harden as he smashed Saphir Du Rheu who smashed it yesterday, but I'm such a sucker for Zarkandar 5/2. Warren's horses were flying when CH won and Zark looked unlucky not to get closed after one poor jump so sticking with heart.

3.25 Aintree - Buywise 5/2 had form franked R Express yesterday but if gets held up may hit traffic problems

4.15 Aintree - Shutthfrontdoor will be massive for punters and massive for Mccoy, but he's really short not the best of jumpers, not run for a long time and whilst I wish him all the best I'm going for a few others. The Druids Nephew 14/1 and Cause of Causes 22/1 were both great at Chelts and are still both well handicapped. Elys Brown 160/1 is the outsider punt today as loves Aintree and is also well handicapped on best form.

Also....

3.00 Lingfield - Gold Trail 13/8

Friday 10 April 2015

Bets 10/04/2015

The Hendo hotpots were awful yesterday. Had Artic Fire won, would have broken even so not a disaster yesterday but a reminder about my poor form with jumps racings!

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost tipped

2.50 Aintree - Irish Cavalier 10/1
4.05 Aintree - Ruben Cotter 12/1, Standing Ovation 20/1
4.40 Aintree - Alpha Des Obeaux 18/1

Right here goes again...

Aintree 1.40 - The Saint James 5/1 had form franked by All Yours yesterday and Dell Arca 16/1 looked well handicapped before falling at Chelts

Aintree 2.15 - On face value Glingerburn looks bloody good and no doubt if was trained by the big boys would be odds on.When Cardinal Water 7/1 was beat by Qewy he has to give 6lb on ground not convinced suited to. At 7/1 prefer him to Glingerburn

Aintree 2.50 - Hmm. Saphir Du Rheu back to fences. Not sure how I feel, but imagine most likely winner. I was keen initially on Carriag Mor after him beating Sothfield Theatre, however Caroles Destrier 7/1 beat him easily by 6 lengths so CD it is. Close Touch might have a squeak at 18/1.

Aintree 3.15 - I feel Don Cossack 4/1 owes me a bit of moolah after one bad jump cost him his chance in the Ryanair. Sire De Grugy and Al Ferof are the best horses in the race, but the former looked dodge at Chelts and Al Feror has had some kind of illness so needs to prove is back. Champagne Fever is the obvious choice but I hope DC can do some damage today.

Aintree 4.05 - I'm still annoyed about the restart that I'm convinced cost Monetaire 10/1 a win at Chelts. Rise might not stop the win today. Eastlake 11/1 is a good placed prospect but may be too high in weigths to win now. Bless The Wings 22/1 looks a cheeky outside bet having once been rated 150. The Package was a shoo in last time.

Aintree 4.40 - Minella Rocco 4/1 looks seriously good

Aintree 5.15 - Buveir D'Air 7/1 was cantering home last race and hopefully Fehily will get going sooner and the flatter track will help

Thursday 9 April 2015

Bets 09/04/2015

I know I should not be betting on the jumps, but I can't help it :) Normally you should avoid horses who had hard races at Cheltenham, but it was 4 weeks ago which is longer than normal.

1.40 Aintree - Joses Hill 13/8 was the best of these in the Arkle and won very easily at the Festival last year

2.15 Aintree - I expect a quick double from Hendo with Hargam 8/11 winning.

2.50 Aintree - I think I hate Silviniaco Conti. I thought had a decent place chance at Cheltenham. Was awful. The horses he beat in this last year weren't great. On form Holywell wins this, but I'm going on weight and banking on a Henderson treble with Ma Filleule 4/1. She loves Aintree and at the weights beats Holywell. No doubt SC will break me again!

3.25 Aintree - Artic Fire 15/8 has the best form

4.05 Aintree - On The Fringe 4/1 looked immense at Chelts. Warne last years winner is of interest but OTF will be top of class for next year or so I reckon.

4.45 Aintree - Next Sensation 8/1 is a massive e/w price. He romped the Grand Annual.

5.15 Aintree - Call The Cops 7/1 when you've robbed the bookies

Monday 6 April 2015

Bets 06/04/2015

Another 20/1 acc landed yesterday. 2 on the trot! Irish Grand National today and no real excitement my end for it. Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped:

Fairyhouse 5.00 - Los Amigos 12/1 and Empire of Dirt 12/1

A few on the flat today but below average racing so need to tred carefully...

Redcar 1.40 - In Oct '12 Fisher 4/1 was running very well over 2m on good ground. First time will have these conditions again. Will have to bounce back from poor running though.

Redcar 2.10 - Fieldgunner Kirkup 8/1 is a course winner with pretty good form for this level. Is def a much better horse on quick ground

Redcar 3.20 - Well Off 5/6 has a Derby entry. Clue enough for me.

Redcar 3.55 - Tough handicap, but a few I like. Tiger Twenty Two, Chiswick Bey, Breakable all 12/1 all have good chances on current mark and ground. Spread low, middle and high across the track!

Wolves 4.10 - Starletina 11/10 from Sea The Stars.

Fairyhouse 5.00 - Have to have a bet, as is the national....She's Got Grit 33/1 in good form as is trainer. Good form lines too. Thunder and Roses 28/1 love Fairyhouse and Lots of Memories 16/1 has the Don Poli form

Sunday 5 April 2015

Bets 05/04/2015

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped 3 today:

3.20 Fairyhouse - Uranna 10/1, Rock on The Moor 6/1
4.20 Fairyhouse - The Tullow Tank 12/1

I'm doing well avoiding the jumps, but just one today.

Musselburgh 3.25 - Bahamian C 7/2 could be a better horse on soft. If so and has improved over winter good chance

Musselburgh 3.25 - Lady Kashaan has run well fresh before. 15/2 is a decent price. Handles soft and won here before

Plumpton 3.45 - Dormello Mo 5/1  Just blindly following the Nicholls bandwagon

Saturday 4 April 2015

Bets 04/04/2015

The Lingfield dangers of being too far held up or trapped on the the rail were on full show again yesterday. I'm certain if they reran the card a few times would have nailed 5 of the 6 races. Anyhow that's how Lingfield rolls.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped:

2.35 Haydock - Net Work Rouge 12/1, Bell Weir 33/1
3.10 Haydock - Virak 6/1
3.45 Haydock - Tenor Nivernais 12/1

A few on the flat today:

2.15 Kempton - Outback Travellor 4/1 went up 12lbs for a 7 lenght with so maybe more juice

2.50 Kempton - Lady Dutch 11/4 solid C&D winner last time

3.25 Kempton - Not convinced Made with Love is that well handicapped. A mark of 90 is steep, unless the horse has improved a stone or so will find this tough. Secret Art 10/1 looks much better value. Loves it here.

4.00 Kempton - Shagah is rated 8lb better than Very Special, but I know the Very Special 10/11 form is much better

4.35 Kempton - Peacock 8/11 looks solid on form

5.30 Cork - Hans Holbein 6/5

Friday 3 April 2015

Bets 03/04/2015

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped 4 today at Lingfield:

1.40 Lingfield  - Lamar 11/2
2.10 Lingfield  -  Rivellino 9/1
3.15 Lingfield - Big Baz 12/1
4.45 Lingfield - Mymatechris 12/1

Blue is the colour to follow today at Lingfield.

Lingfield 1.40 - Lamar 4/1 agree with Segal

Lingfield 2.10 - Pretend 6/4 - Comfortable Listed winner here. Came from the back and flew passed Alben Start last time. As long as does not get trapped should bolt in again.

Lingfield 2.40 - Tempus Temporis 5/2 on paper wins. Beat AJ by 5 lenghts and Four Seasons only did by 1 3/4 lenghts which also puts TT ahead of Lexington Times. Emirates Skycargo looks biggest threat as was very impressive last two times out.

Lingfield 3.15 - Top rated, unlucky not to be a course winner, needs some luck in running, once rated 112, Sovereign Debt 3/1

Lingfield 3.45 - I've been backing Tryster 8/11 for a couple weeks now and the only way loses is traffic issues.

Lingfield 4.15 - Portamento 11/4 ought to win. Top rated, course winner and I clearly remember this one smashing Estidhkaar last year. Decent horse.

Lingfield 4.45 - Hurricane Higgins could have won last time by 3, 4 lengths easily but had awful traffic all the way from the bend so nothing ought to turn the tables from the previous race. But he used to be pretty hit and miss and every chance will bounce after a long lay off previously. I'm presuming this race is between the Goodolphin pair. It's hard a call but for me the formlines point to Hidden Gold 3/1. She is already a Listed winner here too and a bigger price so why not.

I rarely do well at Musselburgh, but sod it....

1.55 Musselburgh - Everything says back First Bombardment, but I say back Six Sense 2/1. FB has been heavily backed today after nearly winning last week. Johnston horses have been flying and I think he is going to have a decent season.

2.25 Musselburgh - Bayan 10/3 has a very good favourites chance. Elliot has a good record with handicaps here.

2.55 Musselburgh - Moonlightnavigator 12/1 looks well handicapped and is a course winner. Tadqeeq has been gelded and will no doubt be decent, but after watching Haggas' last few runners I will avoid. I don't know why Chadic 20/1 was ever rated 100, but either way is MJ, first time blinkers, won last time on seasonal debut and is on a mark of 81.....

3.30 Musselburgh - I remember landing Blaine in a big handicap at the York festival last year at a big price. I think I also backed Robot Boy who was 3rd, but had he have been drawn same side as Blaine reckon might have won, so I pick Robot Boy Evs. A lot of old boys in here who would do well to win

4.00 Musselburgh - Viva Verglas 7/1 has tumbled down the handicap and looked like back to form last time out. If improves slightly wins this. Noble Asset 7/1 a big improver from last year. Both are course winners
