Newbury 3.00 - I wish I'd looked at the cards earlier. King Frankel been backed of boards already. Looks well handicapped along with Oz Legend. Clearly Bay Bridge is on a good mark but you have to gambel will be as good on tuf.

 My old betting patterns would have made me a small fortune yesterday. Called a 170/1 forecast and a 27/1 forecast but didn't do my usual rfc. By the time got to the 8.20pm in a 13 runner 3yr old handicap, no way wasn't going to back the tricast.....608/1 landed :)

40/1 and 25/1 placed and 16/1 winner so te ew accas paid out very well as well. Not my usual £2 lines, just the 28p ones!

Anyhow all good cleared about 1.3k.....

Tough day today plus not looked in detail.......

1.40 York - I've not looked through the full card as I think the market is right with the Top 3.Count D, Illusionist and COpper Knight. If I use Musicka as collateral from then Illustionist gets the vote, but just as COppen Knight is on best form the best handicapped. I hope Illustionist can improve but who knows.

2.40 York - I immediately jumped to Firmament here. But given the jockey bookings I just can't do it. I also suspect they will lower his mark and then take advantage of a lower grade.

Shelir is a total cliff horse of mine but should go really close. Brunch is a obvious improver and should be close, but also Kyren who ran well ;last time and dropped n weights. Urgh which one? No utmost confidence but I guess bigger prices are better?

York 1.40 - This race tends to go to a 4yr old improver and if Illraab stays surely wins this? Problem I have is Raymond Tusk (once rated 113, now 99) who is absolutely chucked in based on penultimate run. Appreciate others could improve more, but RT was 4th in Ebor so stays beyond the trip and the ground will be fine. Needs a decent ride for sure.

York 2.40 - Varian a big fan of Mothalam and why not. Probably best trip will be 6.5f :) of course. FInal Song nearly won a G1 in Meydan. Interesting. Hmmm

York 3.40 - I can't pick between the top3 in the market (Rifleman, Huddleton Mac, Northern Express) but given Huddleton was tried in the Greenham they must think a lot of it? If repeats the Sandown form is chucked in either way

York 4.50 - Lyfdord ignore last race and should win this given the romple of 5 lengths in penultimate race. Second Slip was of interest but stick with 1.

 Bath 8.20pm - Love a 3yr old handicap. An interesting pick in My Boy Charles. September last year ran far better than the 9 length beating on paper. Hands and heels ride when no chance. Horses around it running off higher marks and doing well enough in handicaps to suggest off a decent mark back on turf. Wintle knows a good Bath horse and Muscutt rides well here. Tich Toch has the best form and Devils Cub the best chance on CD runs, but I'll take a punt on My Boy Charles

 Ascot 1.20 - Hiroshima is chucked in based on that Listed race. I think will stay. Ground will be good. Dawson rides the track well.

Ascot 3.30 - Equitation is surely the best handicapped horse here? Ran a cracker last time out and formline is strong. Is a C&D winner and okay have to guess on the draw but typically high work well. It's drfited from 5/1 to 12/1 so maybe someone knows something I don't! Jonah Jones looks pretty solid and PEndleton may be a big threat at 20/1.

 Frustrated by the results on Saturday. Given the money for battleground before the off surely was the one to beat. Looking at both guineass the draw bias was massive. I wont give up on this or Van Gogh. Essentail Quality missed the break and screwed his chances. Again will back next time out.

Didn't blog on Sunday (again) and of course backed only Mother Earth and it won....

Chester 1.45 - Evans clearly fancies Lihou with the booking of Buick, but I wouldn't book BUick at Goodwood.....he says.

Copper Knight is the best handicapped horse in the race and loves this festival. Clearluy needs to bounce back as a number of disappointing runs in a row, but worth chancing does.
