Bets 30/04/2014

Back on track yesterday with a handful of decent winners and ew double on couple of Segals picks which I was keen on came in too.

Today Tom Pricewise Segal has gone for:
4.55 Punchestown – Apache Jack 10/1
5.30 Punchestown – Lyreen Legend 7/1
6.40 Punchestown – Miteball Forluck  25/1, Competitive Edge 12/1

A few more back on the flat and might consider Punchestown too…

Ascot 2.00 – Magical Roundabout 11/8.

Ascot 2.35 – Speedfiend 11/2. takes a step down in class from a G1

Pontefract 2.45 – Roseburg 6/4 has decent enough form

Ascot 3.10 – Once Evita Peron 10/3 got the hang of things she flew. Ordinarily I’d have picked Adhwa as has the experience but hoping Evita Peron is forward and one to follow

Ascot 3.45 – If Tac De Boistron wins this it will be impressive with the weight he has to give away. A solid C&D performance from Harris Tweed 2/1 last time out has to be pick

Pontefract 4.25 – Dullingham 9/4.

Ascot 4.45 – Most of these look well handicapped, but on soft have to go with Russian Realm 6/4

Pontefract 5.00 – Smidgen 6/1 on maiden form here

Punchestown 4.20 – Medival Chapel 10/1

Tuesday 29 April 2014

Bets 29/04/2014

Only 1 winner yesterday. Not cool. Nothing unexpected though as the early season unfolds and a few more went into the tracker. Is the Punchestown festival today and Tom Pricewise Segal has gone for 3 today:

4.55 Punchestown – The Game Changer 16/1, Sea Beat 11/1
5.30 Punchestown – Ballynagour 11/1

I picked both TGC and Ballynahgour at Chelts so interesting me….

Back to the flat….

Lingfield 1.55 – Big Orange 11/10

Nottingham 3.15 – Kashmiri Sunset 5/1 bigish ew bet. That form looks very good and hopefully that means this handicap mark will be blown away!

Yarmouth 3.35 – If takes to turf and everything suggests will, Horsted Keynes 5/4

Nottingham 3.45 – Hassle 5/2 takes a step down in class and is hopefully fit enough first time out to continue improvement

Nottingham 4.50 – Gowanharry 5/2 looks to run a good race every other race. Ought to get ideal conditions so good chance

Nottingham 5.25 – Kiss from a Rose 6/1 is interesting back to 5f on slower ground and might be ahead of mark in these conditions.

Bets 28/04/2014

Two 2/5 shots turned over, a few more losers and an AP bet on Treve which I thought was decent blown. I'm not sure why Treve sat so far back from the pacemaker but I'm never confident on any horse Detorri now sits on since he came back from his ban.

I picked these all last night without knowing the prices…

Bath 1.30 – Spectator 9/4
Bath 2.00 – Perfect Muse 9/4
Bath 3.00 – Desert Command 7/4

Windsor 5.35 – Dougal 4/5. Hannons better 2yr old horses are apparently named after Magic Roundabout characters…
Windsor 6.05 – Principle Equation 5/1 – Beckett’s 2yr old filly are flying
Windsor 6.35 – Aldborough 6/1 should put his experience to good use and that Newbury maiden is pretty decent form
Windsor 7.35 – Palus San Marco 7/2

Naas 4.55 – Packing Go Go 5/2

Naas 6.25 – Sea of Blue 22/1 and Timbuktu 6/4

Sunday 27 April 2014

Bets 27/04/2014

An okay day yesterday but importantly lots of good formlines for me to follow. Hit a fair few winners but was gutted Kaka didn't quite make it as had a big double on with Battalion who continues to look very impressive and is making me shed of loads of dollar on the way. Annoyed about the emphasis I placed on draw bias at Ripon as I had Fast Shot down as first pick before drawbias.com said I had no chance!

Segal is feeling more gutted I imagine as a few horses he has backed in the past and have let him down and winning big races at big prices! Today he has gone for:

Kempton 5.15 - Flemish School 3/1
Limerick 2.50 - Kims Dream 10/3

I'll go for a few today, but my 7/1 on Treve to win the Ganay, Prince of Wales and Arc is the one I'm looking forward to the most.

Ayr 2.00 - Galvanise 2/5
Longchamp 2.40 - Treve 2/5
Limerick 2.50 - just to take Segal on for fun, Truckin All Night 9/1
Gowran Park 3.35 - I was spot on with AOB yesterday taking on the favourite with Third Dimension, which makes a change. Will go for a double but this time back AOB - Exotic 7/2
Kempton 3.45 - Angelic Air 11/10
Kempton 4.45 - Relation Alaexander 9/2
Kempton 5.15 - I will take Segal on with Ranjaan 9/4
Kempton 5.45 - I expect the favourite to win but Shifting Star should not be 22/1

Bets 26/04/2014

Segal I hate you, I love you, I hate you, I love you. I’m sure he’d admit he’s not having a great time of things. When you say a horse @ 5/2 could be bet of the season you really better be willing to put your house on that. Useless, absolutely useless. I lost a fair whack on Sacred Act, but made a bit back on Western Hymn, Eccelston and Windshear. Right rant over today. Today Pricewise Segal has tipped:

Haydock 2.20 – Louis The Pious 9/1
Sandown 3.50 – Bury Parade 12/1, Midnight Appeal 25/1

I’ll give most of the flat a go….

1.20 Haydock – Nubar Boy 6/1 – looks to have hit good form and perhaps 1m turf was what has always needed.
1.50 Haydock – Kyllachy Star 11/4 – Pants race but looks the best handicapped and marginally best form
2.20 Haydock – Sir Reginald 6/1 and Louis The Pious 7/1 have been targeted at this race. Either the top 5 drawn will come 1,2,3 or they’ll go too quick and set it up for my picks. Hopefully the latter!
2.55 Haydock – Talmada 4/6 has solid form
3.25 Haydock – Gabrials Kaka 9/2 should brush off 6lb rise. Solid form. Ingelby Angel 12/1 might be one for the bold forecast and maybe Robert the Painter 20/1 for the tricast! Ha
4.35 Haydock – Approach The West 3/1 marginally on form
5.10 Haydock – San Cassiano 16/1 ew chance

1.40 Ripon – Reassert 16/1 will come on for debut and has a decent draw
2.15 Ripon – Capo Rosso 9/2 hopefully had ground quick enough, but Lord Aeryn 13/2 also has a low mark, good form here and the best draw if takes advantage of it.
2.50 Ripon – Looks set up for Doc Hay 8/1 after having first run of season and having won over C&D on a higher mark. The pundits seem to think that Hopes N Dreams 12/1 has the favoured draw but in big fields the stats do not back that up although this horse is quick and is being aimed at Epsom dash so might be hard to catch.
3.30 Ripon – Bayan 5/1  looks a big price. I wrote this last night and be surprised if can get that on day. Jumps horses do well in this race and this horse has very good form
4.05 Ripon – Battalion 9/4 looks ahead of his mark. I like this horse and did me well in couple races last year. Awake My Soul and Chancery are held in high regard by O’Meara but I’ll stick with Battalion.
4.40 Ripon – Signore Piccolo 8/11 short but looks good enough to win
5.15 Ripon – Satelitte 15/8

2.30 Leciester – Vimy Ridge 10/1 – Stable likes this one
3.05 Leicester – Fun Mac 9/2 – Burnt by a short Gosden handicap one yesterday and might today but prefer Barzys ride at the weights
3.40 Leicester – Professor 11/4 takes a big step down in class. Proven can win Listed races

2.25 Limerick – Keen to see if AOBs lot coming into form. If not Third Dimension 6/1 might take advantage

6.30 Doncaster – Perfect Blessings 9/4 will improve
7.05 Doncaster – Balding really likes Born in Bombay 10/3

8.05 Doncaster – Vanity Rules 6/1

Friday 25 April 2014

Bets 25/04/2014

Useless day yesterday although that long shot is def one I’m backing next time.

1.40 Sandown – “This could be the bet of the year” – Sacred Act 5/2. I agree. Miles ahead of a mark of 90. Couple other ahead too but not as ahead much as this one.

2.10 Sandown – I was all over Telescope last year and I don’t know whether to jump ship to Sky Hunter. Sky Hunter 15/8’s form looks better, stable is in better form and I remember Moore saying Telescope is not a world beater. Therefore, argh, will go with Sky Hunter. Most bookies taking Telescope on too.

2.45 Sandown – Doubts about whether Garswood stays. Segal has gone for Fire Ship. Hmm. Not sure Penitent is good enough or Tulius, though does have C&D form. So it has to be between Top Notch Tonto and Montridge. Ordinarily I’d just say Montridge as am a follower, but the ground, bullish comments from Ellison, OR and form do point to TNT 3/1. It’s hard to ignore that Hannon has won this 7 out of last 10 years though!!!

3.15 Sandown – Western Hymn 4/7 looks decent but is a short price.

3.50 Sandown – Tough, but I found the winner. But, I’m gutted as was 7/1 this morning and is now only 4/1. Eccelston. The Wetherby Super Sprint puts him way ahead of this mark and clearly prefers give in the ground. Draw is ideal and trainer is bang in form. Havent totally ruled out Sacha Park on old form, or Desert Ace who will appreciate a stiff 5f, but will stick with this

4.55 Sandown – Shouldn’t be betting in races like this but I reckon the Newmarket Race Windshear 15/8 last ran in, might be a decent race.

Thursday 24 April 2014

Bets 24/04/2014

I don’t think I’ve ever napped a horse on here, so glad it came in yesterday pretty easily @ 4/1.

4.00 Beverly – two well handicapped horses in this. On paper really should be with Bling King, but Genius Boy 9/4 is ex G’Dog, from New Approach and I’m hoping will improve a lot more. Trainer reckons is ahead of mark. Hmm forecast pays 9/1

4.10 Warwick – I’ve got Nouvelle Ere 33/1 in my tracker but no idea why. Must have read a trainer comment sometime ago.

6.15 Newcastle – That Manchestar formline comes into play again with Trade Secret. It might be worth a Bling King/Trade Secret Double but Fahey has said if Time and Place 7/1 bounces back to form he is well handicapped. Saying that King of Eden has been samshed and that’s no doubt down to Paul Kealy the tipster. He has a point about this one but at 7/2 I can’t back it.

Wednesday 23 April 2014

Bets 23/04/2014

I never got round to posting Segals’ Irish National tips, but he duly obliged at 12/1 with Shuthefrontdoor so happy days. He is at it again today:

Epsom 2.20 – Red Runaway 4/1
Epsom 3.25 – Charles Camoin 10/1

Right here goes…

Epsom first two races are too tough too call. Too many have chances.

Epsom 2.50 – Hartnell is clear on ratings and Fallon likes the chances of Stars Over The Sea. They have the relevant experience, yes, and it’s important at tricky tracks, but I just want to be brave and go Nonno Guilio 33/1 who is at least Listed class level now on form after only one run. He may end up being the pacemaker for Marcozzo in which case well done Gosden

Epsom 3.25 – Another ridiculous race, but this time I’ll go with Cactus Valley 14/1 and Pasaka Boy 16/1. Both come into race in good form and on winnable marks. The latter is a C&D winner

Epsom 4.35 – NAP – Chatez 4/1. Gona go big Each Way. Observational nearly won be a big pot behind Sudden Wonder and King says this is this best 3yr old so why not listen and hope nothing better in this race!

Saturday 19 April 2014

Bets 19/04/2014

Tom Pricewise Segal has picked a few today:

2,05 Haydock - Firebird Fly 9/1 and Our Mick 8/1
3.15 Haydock - King Massini 9/1
3.30 Kempton - Loving Spirit 15/2

My big bet was The Offer this morning at 06.45 in Auz like I posted a few days ago and that duly obliged. Thanks Gai

I like Loving Spirit and King Massini so go Segal!

Friday 18 April 2014

Bets 18/04/2014

Useless yesterday. Got it all wrong. No energy to punt today even though great looking card

3.30 Lingfield – Litigant 2/1 looks well handicapped
3.15 Mussleborough – Angel Gabrial 4/1
3.50 Musselborough – Roachdale House 7/2

4.05 Lingfield – Stepper Point 5/1

Thursday 17 April 2014

Bets 17/04/2014

Pretty annoyed that jockeys don’t understand the basics of not going off too quickly in sprints on the Rowley Mile. It sets it up perfectly for hold up horses. But, who am I to tell these professionals! Annoyingly I nailed the horses I was really keen on yesterday but didn’t accumulate them. the best of those bets was backing True Story @ 50/1 for the Derby. I can’t get away from favourites today.

1.45 – I called Mind of Madness as the biggest danger yesterday but I didn’t back it. Belle Fille 16/1 is in the same boat, but I am backing this time and looks like is on better side of draw. But no one apart from the stable is really going to have a clue. All the money is for Lacing 10/3

2.20 – Fallen In Line 10/3 – I like the pedigree. Obvs Pivotal produced Farrh and Fallen For You won the coronation stakes

2.55 – I bloody hate O’Brien. I rarely back his winners. However you’d kick yourself for not backing a horse 12lb clear on ratings if it won. Johann Strauss 15/8. Might have a small each way on Observational 16/1 or 15/2 without Sudden Wonder and JS.

3.30 – Segal is having a nightmare patch and he has gone for Hamza. I just don’t see it and for me Aljamaaheer 11/8 is the class act. Everyone seems to be saying Hamza will be hard to peg back. If he front runs my view is, and was yesterday and proved right yesterday, he will weaken and Aljamaaheer will bowl passed to win.

4.05 – Look This is clearly between Be Ready and Toomore, but I’m a massive Toomore Evs fan and he was the top rated 2yr last year. I think Be Readys form has taken a whopping after Somewhat and Barley Mow were useless yesterday.

4.40 – When Tom Segal backs 2 horses in a 9 runner race, quite frankly as much as he is my hero, it feels a bit desperate. He has backed First Mohican and Elkayeed. I get the latter. But for those who follow me you know there’s only one pick for me and that’s Just the Judge 4/1

5.10 – It’s really not worth taking on Gosden at the moment. Eastern Belle 7/4. Wedding Wish 12/1 might be the danger.

5.40 – Another Gosden nag which I will have to put in a Gosden treble, but I really can’t get away from Top Tug 3/1 who beat Toast of New York. Enough said. Laugharne could complete the tricast

Wednesday 16 April 2014

Bets 16/04/2014

YES! Sick flat racing on a Wednesday! Newmarket is on the Rowley Mile today and have to remember the incline at the end which doesn’t help speedy front runners if not proven stamina. The reverse on the July course.

1.45 Newmarket – Gosden, Gosden, Gosden. Provident Spirit 8/11. Solid debut, trainer bang in form.

2.20 Newmarket – George Baker reckons Hurricane Harry as he accidently called him faces a tough task in this so despite weight reverse with Flyball I’ll keep Flyball ahead. 5 are debutants so will pass over, although Mind of Madness is the one to fear on trainer form with 2yr olds. Bill Turner’s Abscent Friends won on debut like a lot of his 2 yr olds and he is always someone to follow early season. However Flyball 11/4 is a big horse and just think he’ll improve again. The stable has a decent record in this and will stick with them. Just hope he doesn            t go off too quickly.

2.55 Newmarket – Wedding Ring 11/4 is fit, goes well at Newmarket, Applebys lot are running well after Meydan and is best weighted. Price won’t last.

3.05 Beverley – Aetna 11/4 landed me a phat wedge last time out and is still well handicapped. Signeur 5/1 is the biggest danger today, but runs the traffic risk coming from behind!

3.30 Newmarket – When I saw Segal backed Parbold I was really annoyed as was all over this one and meant could only get 5/1 when bookies changed their morning price. What I didn’t realise was this was a handicap race at the time. I’ve backed him anyway because Fahey really likes this one, but Shifting Power 7/4 of a mark of 105 who has been aimed for this race has to be the pick. I was toying with Mushir as arguably is best handicapped on RPR, but not convinced will stay. He is nippy no doubt, but let’s stick with Hannon. I’ve also got £20 at 90/1 on Betfair for 2k with view to lay out after bolts up ;)

3.40 Beverley – Fahey reckons Flycatcher 7/2 is well handicapped. I don’t see it but I’ll trust him as nothing looks well handicapped.

4.05 Newmarket – Segal has tipped Dorothy B. With Gosden in form I get it. If front runs again will have no chance, but the form is solid. Loads of these are similar though with strong form behind Lucky Kristale, Princess Noor, Kiyoshi etc. It’s tough to work out who will come on top from those. And so I’m going left field. Folk Melody 8/1. Hitting an 95 OR after 1 race with at least 5 runners from that race going onto win, must have a decent chance. Using Dancelot as a marker in that race she must be rated higher. Also have to take a chance on Euro Charline 8/1. The last race puts here as top rated horse in this field, but guess it’s turf and not AW. Still, work a shot.

4.40 Newmarket – Somewhat looks pretty class and has Barlow Mow on form. I’m just wondering whether the 3lb Listed penalty might be a penalty kick to Somewhat. He has been aimed for this. Truth or Dare finished well behind Kingston Hill, Master of The World related to KH will no doubt go one from here too, but the two I’m toying up are True Story 7/4 who bolted up in last race whilst green looks a 110 at least. And Obilterator 5/1 who is related to Just The Judge will def also improve from a solid debut. My only concern with both of these is the lack of experience might hurt their chances. I think True Story 50/1 is worth a nibble for the Derby….

5.10 Newmarket – Munjaz 11/8. Good form on course. Looks like will stay and it’s another Gosden lad.

5.40 Newmarket – If Quiet Warrior 8/1 is as effective on Turf, he ought to go close. Was toying with Expert but weight will be a burden. This is hard to call but I’ll take a chance with Sleepy Sioux 12/1. Looks on a capable mark although I’m not sure likes Newmarket. But at the weights worth a chance.

Monday 14 April 2014

Bets 14/04/2014

2.50 Windsor - There are a few of these who are in blinding form on the AW, but I think Pal Of The Cat 11/2 who has been off for a while is ahead of the handicapper. 4 year olds have a good record in this, good jockey booking and won on reappearance last year.

3.10 Pontefract - If Colonel Mak 12/1 gets out to the front he'll be hard to catch. Annuication 11/2 looks a danger though as form is solid.

3.20 Windsor - Again a lot of these have decent form on All Weather but there is one who was on the upward last year and that's Marmalady 4/1. The form is decent and Ryan is again onboard.

4.20 Windsor - Every man will be on Gosden today and Blessington 9/2 is no exception. Back on good ground and turf has the class to win this. Decent draw too. The biggest danger is the favourite who has romped his last few races but that was on AW. Joeys Destiny and Robot Boy are not ruled out. Actually I this race gets harder the more I look at it. Hmmm.

Bets 13/04/2014

Nearly hit a big win yesterday, but I'll take the £2k profit, happily. I'm up £4k on the flat since the Lincoln and I'll say it again. Welcome back Flat Racing.

Tom Segal has tipped Taglietelle in 3.20 Curragh.

I can't be arsed with Irish racing today. Will just blindly back Weld's 3 horses. Desai Jnr has told me to back Nicholls blindly today too, so that's what I'll do...

Saturday 12 April 2014

Bets 12/04/2014

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped up 5 today and I like a couple of them. Going to miss the FACup Semis, Day 3 of Masters and an amazing day of racing. Cousin is getting married; no consideration for sport! Ha

1.50 Newbury - Mutashaded 9/2
3.30 Newbury - One More Word 16/1, Foxtrot Romeo 14/1
3.50 Ayr - Roalco De Farges 14/1, Adrenalin Flight 33/1

Will no doubt be seeing decent future winners today:

Newbury 1.50 - I agree with Segal on this one. Mutashaded 9/2

Newbury 2.20 - On paper for me this is between Joyeuse, J Wonder and Manderley. Although Al Thakira is top rated was some reports hadn't wintered as well as liked. Guess Joyuese 4/1 safest?

Ayr 2.40 - MTOY Evs

Newbury 2.55 - Kingman 7/4 romped home ahead of Emirates Flying who performed very well in Dubai this year. After Gosden rattled a 4 timer yesterday, would be nuts to go against him on this one especially as is rated 111 after only two runs! Also worth hitting a Gosden treble today. Have to be worried about Night of Thunder if not only for the fact is has won it 5/12 years. Horse looks decent too.

Thirsk 3.25 - Farlow 5/1 is a handicapper worth keeping eye on

Newbury 3.35 - Brownsea Brink 10/1 looks well handicapped as does Highland Duke 20/1

Ayr 3.50 - Tidal Bay 18/1, Godsmejudge 18/1, Lackamon 40/1

Thirsk 4.00 - Baccarat 4/1 is still on upgrade

Newbury 4.40 - Top Diktat 11/1 on a winnable mark, in good form and likes Newbury

Friday 11 April 2014

Bets 11/04/2014

Newbury 2.00 – Started to read more on pedigree and today Ballymore Castle and Justice Good hit the line up. I’ll go with Justice Good 7/1 as Elsworth won this race last year with Justice Day

Newbury 2.30 – I’m not a major fan of 2m flat races but Leo Luna 7/2 is pretty tempting.

Newbury 3.05 – You’ll all think I’m mad and I’m probably going too far left field on this, but God’s Speed 33/1 ran okay in a Listed race last month. The winner went on to be a close third in a G3. I think I know why I am on this. Because last time I saw a horse bolt up by double lengths it was Toast of New York and we all know how that ended up. My calculations say he has a better chance than 33/1 especially is as more race fit than most. Pretty much all of them are entered in the Derby. Scotland has been smashed in the betting.

Ayr 3.15 – I’ve had a sh*te time with the jumps but Hartforth 20/1 looks massive to me

Newbury 3.40 – Really don’t know who will have improved the most over the winter and loads have claims. Over C&D Exchequer 4/1 finished behind Kingston Hill and is well handicapped on that form alone. However Extremity’s 5/2 form over C&D probably makes him better handicapped.

Newbury 4.15 – I don’t think this is easy at all and I really shouldn’t bet but I want to purely so I keep track of form. Sounds daft but it’s how I learn. Dutch Masterpiece has a ridic weight to deal with and I hope the ground is quick enough for Jimmy Stlyes 6/1. El Viento 16/1 might be the danger with a 5lb claim, but needs a good start.

Newbury 5.15 – Be My Gal 2/1 has been hammered in the betting

Newbury 5.45 – Approaching Star 3/1 could be the next Oaks winner, but Tinga 4/1 has the experience needed to land this

I think it’s a tough field with so many unexposed horses but reckon worth following a market Acc on Leo Luna, Scotland, Extremity and Be My Gal

Thursday 10 April 2014

Bets 10/04/2014

5 winners yesterday but no big acc landed. I'm just playing today because want to stay in mode, but a very small patent only on the below today. Shouldn't really bet in this low class stuff, but hey...

5.40 Kempton – Desert Colours 3/1 is still on a good mark.

6.10 Kempton – Baars Causeway 9/4 has from here and looks the best on paper

6.40 Kempton – Heartsong is very interesting back at Kempton after a while but will stick with Ray of Joy 4/1 who won pretty comfortably over C&D two races ago

Wednesday 9 April 2014

Bets 09/04/2014

Schoolboy error yesterday not remembering the draw bias at Pontefract. Blew out on 5 races!

Lingfield 3.00 - Lujeanie 5/2 should win at these weights

Notts 3.10 – Signore Piccolo 5/1 ran a decent race last time. Had a hampered start and ran green and hung. If has those things put right could be a few notches ahead of handicapper especially if has further improved over winter.

Notts 3.40 - Maybe Qatar Racing are desperate for £8k and have entered Pearl Secret for that reason. Pretty shocking if he lost this.

Lingfield 4.00 - Market wants Glorious Empire. I want Outback Travellor 4/1 who is proven at Lingfield

Notts 4.10 - Not sure how good Flying Officer will become and Gosden said will be 6 weeks before reaches peak. For me have to back Biographer 3/1 as goes well fresh and is a Listed winner and like soft ground.

Notts 4.40 - Which form is better? The Irish Licoln or the British? We'll find out with Lord Aeryn vs Robert The Painter. The last time they met RTP beat LA by 4.25l. There's now a 10lb pull meaning RTP should still win by about 1 length over LA so will stick with that theory.

Lingfield 5.00 - Grasped 8/11 has been let in lightly

Notts 5.10 - Secret Pursuit 9/2 is on a tasty mark. Just have a small concern the ground might not suit though.

Notts 5.40 - Supachap and Sahara Desert lock horns again. On paper Supachap 9/2 has the edge.

Tuesday 8 April 2014

Bets 08/04/2014

2.40 Pontefract – Munaaser 4/9 has no competition on paper

3.10 Pontefract – If Jazz 5/2 has improved a tiny bit he will take all the beating as last race was solid, although despite a wide draw Kickboxer 9/1 looks well weighted

4.15 Pontefract – Stepping ahead 8/1 is pretty interesting with decent Aw form behind Robin Hoods Bay. On paper looks like prefers turf, however last run slightly worrying. Romantic Setting 8/1 at Ayr on GS ran a blinder behind Sharestan and back in handicap company looks tasty on this mark. Las Verglas Star 8/1 might win or come last!

4.45 Pontefract – On paper have to back Too Smart 13/8

5.15 Pontefract – Though was going to hit jackpot with High Office 7/2 last week. Still on decent mark.

Monday 7 April 2014

Bets 07/04/2014

Windsor 2.40 – I reckon Star Code 5/1 has the best form on paper vs current handicap mark behind Pool House. Back to turf and back in trip

Windsor 3.10 – If Tobacco Road 6/1 gets his own way upfront might nab this.

Just single ew and ew double

Sunday 6 April 2014

Bets 06/04/2014

The flat saved me again yesterday:

Just an ew patent on Pricewise today:
2.40 Fairyhouse - Miteball Forluck 9/2
2.55 Cork - Scream Blue Murder 9/2
3.50 Fairyhouse - Le Vent D'Antan 9/2

Saturday 5 April 2014

Bets 05/04/2014 - The Grand National 2014

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped 2 more in the National today:

·         Big Shu 25/1
·         Burton Port 16/1

He also tipped Teaforthree 20/1 (massive chance on last years form) and Shaklalakboomboom 50/1 (who has been trained for this)

Right here goes nothing (again)….

Aintree 1.30 – All form points to Wilde Blue Yonder 11/2 behind Vatour. Doubly franked yesterday. Whatever beats it will be smart.

Aintree 2.05 – Balder Success 7/2 is King’s “best chance of the week”

Aintree 2.50 – At Fishers Cross 7/4 or Zark? Hmm

Aintree 3.25 – Victor Hewgo 9/2 is ahead of his mark based on form with Holywell

Aintree 4.15 – Before these fences became so safe, it was possible to get close to the winner. You could sack off anything with dodgey jumping. Now the fences are child proof it’s more of a lottery. All the punters say so and that why we now have Gold Cup runners in this race and not pure National runners. I only wanted to back one, but as always I’ve has an Antepost bet already The Package 25/1 (form of this has been franked couple times)

Every trainer is bullish, so no clues from them. The ground is too quick for a few so can at least snub a good dozen or so.

I was going to pick three in this and one was definitely Burton Port 18/1. With Segal tapping him up I thought I’d hit 3 more:
1)      Golan Way 150/1  - loves Aintree, front runner, good form, has won a listed handicap race of a higher mark and a G2H too, jumping has improved from when he should have won the John Smith Novice Chase here 2 years ago and well now this race truly has become a lottery why not!
2)      Prince De Beauchene 25/1 was a major player in the betting last year before injury. I’ve always liked him and he has won at this meeting
3)      Finally a horse that nearly won the Topham last year for a trainer bang in form, Walkon 50/1

Aintree 5.10 – Katgary 3/1 is short and not sure how good that form is after Hawk High got merked. But this is a huge step down in class as it is for Vasco Du Ronceray 14/1 and Massinis Trap 16/1

Aintree 5.45 – Have to go with King’s horses Ordo Ab Chao 9/1 and McCabe Creek 25/1

A few on flat today but nothing I can be bothered to look through as wasted time looking at the jumps card!

Lingfield 1.50 – 1st Athletic 2nd Presumido 3rd Bertie Blue Boy

Lingfield 3.00 – Brass Ring looks ahead of handicapper

Lngfield 3.40 – Barley Mow 11/10 top rated

Newcastle 2.45 – Aetna 4/1 was going the right way and hopefully has improved again into a 4 yr old. Form has been franked and a winner at Newcastle

Once again spanked on the jumps, but flat was 2/3…

Tom Pricewise Segal has tapped up 4 today:

Aintree 2.00 – Art of Payroll 8/1
Aintree 2.30 – Don Cossack 7/1
Aintree 3.40 – Your Busy 20/1, Standing Ovation 12/1

Hit a Segal Treble x2. My finger in the air picks…

Aintree 2.00 – Josies Hill wins on all stats, but Sgt Reckless 11/2  looks a better bet for me the way he came after JH at Chelts. McCoy onboard will squeeze every last ounce out of him

Aintree 2.30 – Wonderful Charm 4/1 is top rated and 2nd to Oscar W giving 8lbs has to be the best form.

Aintree 3.05 – Boston Bob 17/2 is a grade 1 winner and he should have won the RSA last year. The ground has softened a littled bit so the shorter distance won’t be an issue. If Townsend is riding up close to pace reckon decent chance.

Aintree 3.40 – Dunowen Point 16/1. 8lb lower than last year when 8leghts from winning. Simple. Tatenen 25/1 is back to best too and very low in weights. Kauto Stone 33/1 is one of those who will either come last or make a mockery of his mark. Lost Legend 16/1 might be interesting. I’m going to stop as I could keep backing other nags in this all day long.

Aintree 4.15 – Tagrita 16/1 has been given a promising write up by Nicholls and Seeyouatmidnight 5/1 just looks class

Aintree 4.50 – Party Rock 33/1 lively outsider if bounces back to form, else Stonebrook 9/1 could be well handicapped based on form with Josies Hill and Ataglance 9/1 looked very unlucky last time out.

Aintree 5.25 – Lady Buttons 8/1 best rated.

Giggestown Treble x2
If I have foolishly written of Josies Hill & Raj Express – Doubled
Else EW Accs including Sgt Reckless, Wonderful Charm, Dunowen Point, Lost Legend, Tagrita, Seeyouatmidnight, Stonebrook and Ataglance

And back to the flat…

1.50 Leicester – Al Mukhdam 7/2 has more juice left in his mark and looks better at 7furlongs. He will go off upfront and just hope Dane times it right.

3.30 Leicester – Wee Jean and Beau Nash ran behind some decent horses at Ascot last year, but the form for Canyari 13/8 is better. Not sure what happended last time out but can hopefully draw a line through that.

4.40 Leicester – Shasta Daisy 13/8 should have won a similar race last time

2/3 yesterday for ones bet on. Aintree today, but don't pay too much attention to my jumps bets. I've had a torrid jumps season and my poor form knowledge leads me to want to back pretty much all of the favourites!

Tom Pricewise Segal has hit a few today:

2.00 Aintree - Hawk High 14/1, Aurore D'Estruval 12/1
4.15 Aintree - Arnaud 7/1

Well here goes nothing. Not going heavy on anything...

Aintree 2.00 – Calipto maybe could have won the triumph if not for bad luck so looks the best horse in race. It worries me when bookies are going against a favourite. Sky offering money back if fvaourite wins and Paddy Power offering money back if horse finishes 2nd or 3rd. Actival is decent too. Although favourites have won the last 7/10 so will stick with Calipto and Activial.

Aintree 2.30 – Dynaste 2/1. SC had a hard race so can’t have him. FL is the danger.

Aintree 3.05 – No point taking on The New One 4/9 is there?

Aintree 3.40 – Mossey Joe 15/8 or Warne 4/1

Aintree 4.15 - Have to punt for an outsider on this and goes to Gus Macrae 33/1. Can't believe he is penultimate in the betting. Put the heavy ground down as an excuse. Claret Cloak would have been a solid bet but the weights are now revised and carrying a fair weight. Sound Investment not out of it. Hmm another tough one.

Aintree 4.50 - I'm a sucker for Oscar Whisky 9/4

Aintree 5.25 - Spirit of Shankly 12/1 and Busty Brown 8/1

Right back to the flat

Lingfield 1.50 - BIg Kenny 4/6 clear on ratings

Lingfield 2.20 - Oaks entry Shama 11/10 will have come on for last run

Lingfield 4.05 - Gregori might set this up pefectly for Jubliee Brig 9/2 but multiple dangers coming down in class.

Lingfield Treble
Aintree a few accs involving all mentioned
Across card Acc Big Kenny, Dynaste, TNO, Mossey Joe

4/6 yesterday, which was encouraging.

2.55 Lingfield – Sacha Park Evs owns this. All his races last year suggested needed a step up in trip and the form is far beyond anything else here.

4.10 Leapordstown – Johann Strauss 1/3 too short to back, and how many times have we seen the 2nd string ballydole runner win these! (Table Rock 8/1 2 place insurebet better)

4.40 Leapordstown – Kingsbarns 2/5 too short to back but is 13lb clear on rating. No betting.

4.25 Lingfield – Sequined 2/1 looks ahead of his mark but Isabella Beeton 16/1 does too.

8.25 Kempton – Hopefully Love Excel 7/4 is not better at Wolves then here. If he is similar then is miles ahead of the handicapper.

Sacha, Sequined and Love Excel Trixie.

Isablella Beeton and Table Rock ew Double.

Arab Spring and Dutiful Son ran very well. The cockney obviously had something wrong with him as did Manor Way and both massively drifted before the off.

2.00 Southwell – Has to be between the top two in market and preference just for Lean on Pete 13/8.

2.50 Kempton – If something beats Bustopher 11/10 I reckon it will be one to keep an eye on. Aldborough might be the 4yr old to compete with him, but I’ll stick with the favourite.

3.20 Kempton – Welsh Sunrise 9/4 back down to class 5 is in fab nick and has a decent course record.

3.30 Southwell – Alumina Evs can keep the run up. A 6lb rise for winning by 7 lengths should not be a problem.

4.00 Southwell – Pretty average race which Kingscombe 11/8 can use to improve course record further

4.30 Southwell – Kasbhom 2/1 which will be a Kashbooooom if all of these come in! ha!

Singles, 5 fold and Acc.
