Bets 28/12/2014

White stuff causing havoc and fittingly I had a whitewash yesterday. Bad day. Again. Just cannot get my head round the jumps

12.20 Leo - Identity Theft 6/4 decent Bumper debut (118RPR)

12.50 Leo - Ttebob 10/1 worth another chance

1.20 Leo -Balbir Du Mathan 9/2 or Un Atout

1.50 Leo - Briar Hill 8/1

2.05 Limerick - Max Dynamite 5/4

2.55 Leo - First Leu 16/1 and Bobs Worth 5/1 to battle it out again. Sam Winner is interesting

Saturday 27 December 2014

Bets 27/12/2014

Yesterday started okay with Jollyan, went bad for a while, got better in the middle when landing 1,2,3 with 13/8 1st, 12/1 2nd and 25/1 3rd, then went bad again and ended with a 5/2 and 12/1 winner. I was really peeved to find out half way through Kempton the ground was soft and not good to soft, good in places like advertised at the beginning of the day. So soon as knew this hitched onto SC....

Anyhow, Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped 4 today:
Kempton 2.15 Shangani 10/1
Kempton 2.35 Edmund Kean 18/1
Leopardstown 2.55 Groody Hill 10/1, Call Rog 28/1

Let's see if can bash the bookies like the person who took £510k of Coral yesterday. I doubt it, but let's try :)

12.50 Leopardstown - Silver Concorde 1/3

12.55 Cheptsow - Smiles for Miles 7/2 is decent and BHH is biggest danger

1.10 Kempton - Gods Own 2/1 is clear on ratings

1.20 Leopardstown – Uxizandre 2/1 followed by Hidden Cyclone 13/2 can go one better this yea

1.25 Chepstow – Bygones Sovereign 8/1

1.50 Leoparstwon - Nichlos Canyon

1.55 Cheptsow - Baron Alco nice horse in making, Golden Doyen has made me a whack so far this season but I’m going for Karezak 3/1 who can turn tables

2.15 Kempton - Loose Chips 7/1 love Kempton and an win off this mark

2.35 Chepstow - Hawkes Point 10/1 laid out for this, One In a Milan 18/1 aimed at this and ran well in this last year, Shotgun Paddy 10/1 also massive chance

2.40 Wetherby - Back to Bracka 7/2

2.50 Kempton - Mayfair Music 4/1 looked good last year and might bounce back

3.10 Chepstow – Renard 11/2 will love ground and is a C&D winner

3.25 Kempton – Chatez 13/8

3.30 Leopardstown - Kilkishen 11/1

3.45 Chepstow - Ghost River 10/3 very good horse

Friday 26 December 2014

Bets 26/12/2014

12.30 Wincanton - Avispa 8/13 short but ought to win

12.50 Kempton - Bringithomeminty could well be very good but as first, I guess as could a few of these, but Jollyallan 2/1 walked home last race and might well be very progressive

12.55 Fontwell - Meetmeatthemoon 7/4 shapes well enough

1.05 Wincanton - Malibu Sun 9/2 could go in again off this mark. Thought 11lb was a bit of a harsh rise but did romp the field

1.25 Kempton - River Maigue 5/1 not far off top class over hurdles and is potentially very well handicapped on that form. Won at this meeting last year

1.40 Wincanton - Bears Affair has a change, but the favourite Batavir 11/8 looks well treated. Western Jo 20/1 w/o Batavir is potentially another big priced Hobbs treat as could be well handicapped on this ground.

1.45 Wetherby - Rose of The Moon is interesting as has won twice here, but for me Vintage Star 7/1 in first time cheekpieces has the best form at this level. Nearly won a G2 handicap of this mark

1.50 Leopardstown - Six Stone Ned 25/1 if not too soft

2.00 Kempton - Creepy will bounce back on good ground in lower class, but Saphir Du Rheu 13/8 looks a decent bet.

2.05 Limerick - Perfect Gentleman 14/1 or the other Mullins Nag ADM 5/2 Mullins 1-2

2.35 Kempton - Would be a shock if Faugheen 4/9 is beaten

3.10 Kempton - I've backed Cue Card 2 times this season and failed. 3rd time lucky? or is Nicholls going to get a 123? This is a hard one to call

3.45 Kempton - Alternatif 5/2 good form to Listed level so could be well in if fit enough

3.55 Wincanton - Fortunate George 11/1 potentially exciting on pedigree

Saturday 20 December 2014

Bets 20/12/2014

Last Saturday I backed very few horses, but a few accs came in which made it a decent show. I just don't seem to be excited by the jumps this season. I kept an eye on the cards in the week but nothing jumped out.

Tom Pricewise Segal has backed 4 today:
2.05 Haydock - Safran De Cotte 8/1
3.00 Ascot - Via Sundown 16/1
3.30 Ascot - Bayan 12/1, Hello George 14/1

Nothing majorly exciting for me today so try a few outsiders

12.30 Haydock - Old boy Stagecoach Pearl 7/1

12.35 Fairyhouse - Annie Oakley 14/1 should have won last time

12.45 Ascot - Wizards Bridge 8/1

1.30 Haydock - Bitofapuzzle 5/4 looks decent

2.05 Haydock - Bold Sir Brian 16/1 on old form is so far ahead of handicapper. Am backing this one this wins again at my own peril

2.25 Ascot - Zarkandar 5/4

2.40 Haydock - Run Reactions Run 4/1

3.30 Ascot - Gassin Golf is a big price I think, but I think backing him to place is a better bet. Trainer reckons Hello George might be good enough for the Neptune and that's the quote Segal has used but I'm going for Shelford 7/1. Decent form

Saturday 13 December 2014

Bets 13/12/2014

Feel better after nailing an 8/1 and 6/1 yesterday, but still not going all out

12.15 Chelts - Hargam 11/10 has the best form and course form. Will no doubt improve for first run of season too

1.25 Chelts - Bold Henry 11/4 was a dream start to the jumps season for me. Was obviously well handicpapped and still is. Sew on Target 7/1 has a 5lb pull so might be the fly.

2.00 Chelts - Caid Du Berlais screwed me out of a massive win last time. I had 2nd,3rd,4th,5th in a combo tricast and CDB came from absolutely nowhere but could go in again. Evan Williams said in his stable tour that Barkilla has a decent handicap in him and maybe No Buts has has franked that claim for him although there is no course form to be fully confident. Ericht and Atalgance both have chances using Johns Spirit and Present View as form lines but Splash of Ginge could be really well handicapped too. Sod this it's tough but I'll do a combo tricast with CDB, AAG and Eric

Hong Kong Vase - Empoli 25/1
Hong Kong Sprint - Snow Dragon 20/1, Straight Girl 20/1
Hong Kong Mile - Able Friend 11/10, World Ace 20/1
Hong Kong Cup - Designs on Rome 10/3

Friday 12 December 2014

Bets 12/12/2014

Just throwing a few quid at a few races to see if my awful form continues

12.30 Chelts - I've followed Sausalito Sunrise 2/1 all season and with a massive reverse in weights going SS

1.40 Chelts - Starluck 13/2

2.40 Chelts - Any Currency 8/1 at the weights will go close

3.15 Chelts - Big Easy 4/1 massive step down in class

3.10 Chepstow Hakwes Point

3.15 Aintree Rebel Rebellion

Friday 5 December 2014

Bets 05/12/2014

1.10 Exeter - Horizontal Speed a big hope for season but Saphir Du Rheu 11/10 needed first run but has chaser build

1.20 Sandown - Howlongisafoot better lefthanded. In Fairness 3/1 will make a serious chaser

1.40 Exeter - Daymar Bay 14/1 has conditions to suit to bounce back

1.55 Sandown - All of them are really well thought of. Even Third Act. However Vyta Du Roc 15/8 in proven class already and the rest need to prove

2.15 Exeter - Hello George 8/11 potential Neptune contender. Hendo likes One for the Guv'Nr. Robinsfirth will be decent when soft ground

Thursday 4 December 2014

Bets 04/12/2014

2.15 Wincanton - Bucks Bond 7/2 loves winny and won this last year decent chance

Sunday 30 November 2014

No one will ban me at this rate

My only bans remain Coral, 888.com and Boylesports.

I am having a shocking start to the jumps season and is reminding me of how bad last season was! Normally I have Dubai to keep me afloat but since they removed Tapeta the profit angle has gone.

I've gone from £1k punts in summer down to £500, to £150, £50 and now I'm moving to £10 stakes until I feel in control of the jumps. Might be a while but it will happen. It has to!

Bets 30/11/2014

Two Saturdays and two horrendous sets of selections. Can't work it out. For the first time in long time I'm in a loss for a season (this jumps one).

12.30 Fairyhouse - Kabjoy 5/1 decent

1.00 Fairyhouse - Allez Colombieres Evs will be a decent novice

1.30 Fairyhouse - Jetson 6/1 will thrive from this small field

1.55 Carlisle - Clondaw Kaempfer 11/4 is talented

2.05 Fairyhouse - Apache Stronghold 9/2 is a very good horse and Perfect Gentleman 25/1 looks a big price

2.35 Fairyhouse - Painted Lady 12/1

3.10 Fairyhouse - Ipsos Du Belais 33/1 to bounce back today

Saturday 29 November 2014

Bets 29/11/2014

Wanted to head to Newbury today, but alas, work, again. However won't stop me from punting :)

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has only tipped two today:

2.40 Newcastle - Tutchec 7/1
3.00 Newbury - Fingal Bay 8/1

Right lets make some moolah:

Newbury 12.20 - Is Carrigmoorna Rock is the best horse in this but not convinced has progressed and have to take on. I'm not sure how deep the ground is but I fancy Broxbourne 4/1. Will come on for last run and was a decent win, that said Aispas form is rock, but lets stay with the Hendo horse

Newbury 12.50 - Jumps Road 8/1 will be better for the run. Is on a low chase mark and can be exploited today. Has won at Newbury on heavy before too.

Towcester 1.15 - Not overly obvious on paper but King of Glory 4/1 is well handicapped and a little birdie tells me has returned stronger over winter

Newbury 1.20 - Nearly went nuts and back Count Salazar 100/1 as saw only few lenghts behind Caid Du Berlais in the Galway Plate and we know what CDB did! Bailey also has a 50% SR at Newbury with £16+ profit. Not sure it the right answer though. Using According To Trev as a marker Midnight Appeal 6/1 should beat Baby Shine 14/1 but I know BS has won here before and will back them both.

Newbury 1.50 - Hammersly Lake 4/1 could be very talented but I do worry about Home Run 6/1 who I backed last time out who is well handicapped

Newcastle 2.05 - At the weights and marks Aurore D'Estuval 10/3 is the one to be on. Destroyed a listed field last time. Sea Lord 14/1 (if bounces back) could be quids in

Newbury 2.25 - More of That is class but can't back at these odds, but maybe Lac Fontana w/o the fav

Newcastle 2.40 - Lie Forrit 6/1 and Broadway Buffalo 5/1 rightly head the market I reckon

Newbury 3.00 - There's only 3 horses I've been eyeing up all week and they are Fingal Bay 8/1, Smad Place 8/1 and Theatre Guide (NR). Both solid Newbury winners, on winnable marks and both go well fresh. The outsider who worries me is Ballynagour 33/1 who is class on his day and we saw that when thumped Colour Squadron by 8 lengths and Johns Spirits by 15 lengths and only lost the Melling to Boston Bob by 4 lengths.

Newcastle 3.15 - Island Confusion 5/1 on best form if back to best wins this

Newbury 3.35 - Monetaire 11/4 well ahead of mark if can get jumping sorted

Friday 28 November 2014

Bets 28/11/2014

12.25 Newbury - I'm a fan of Golden Doyen and the fact Karezak 8/11 beat GD hopefully means is a good thing. Def one of Kings's better juveniles

1.10 Musselburgh - Hopefully the ground is good and we will be Reaping the Reward 8/1 as should have won last time

Run out of time to look at anything else. Damnit

Thursday 27 November 2014

Bets 27/11/2014

1.10 Taunton - Chapel Garden 5/1 on this ground could be decent

1.25 Thurles - Max Dynamite 5/6 decent prospect

2.10 Newbury - Southfield Theatre 8/11

2.45 Newbury - Ned Stark 7/4 looks decent and progressive

Monday 24 November 2014

Bets 24/11/2014

Bragging about Fridays results led me to an awful Saturday....

12.50 Ludlow - Jack Frost 1st , Father Edward 2nd
1.05 Kempton - River Maigue 1st, Fayette Country 2nd

Double forecast 10/1 only bet putting on today

Saturday 22 November 2014

Bets 22/11/2014

Solid 11/1 and 5/1 winners yesterday from 5 punts put me over the £2k mark for the jumps seasons so good start.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped:

2.25 Haydock - Oscar Rock 14/1, Upswing 12/1
3.15 Ascot - Brick Red 11/2

My go....

12.25 Ascot - Ballycoe will be a better chaser and stayer in time. Parish Business 7/2 is a decent prospect and might take this. Hunt Ball is running but not sure what has happened to him.

12.45 Haydock - Wellforth 10/1 a CD winner of this mark and trainer thought was good enough to enter Grand National trial

1.00 Ascot - Polisky has been targeted at the race but the extra 5lb might be hard for him. Nicholls is quite bullish but I think and I hope Minella on Line 11/4 is better handicapped as I really rate the horse that beat him last time

1.05 Gowran Park - Tell Us More 1/4 is very exciting but too short to back

1.15 Haydock - Emral Silk - Trainer likes this one and 2m4f looks right trip. If runs to best could be seriously well handicapped based on one race beginning of this year, but likelyhood is one of those prominent in the market will win.

1.50 Haydock - The New One 2/5 too short to back and actually not sure conditions perfect for him

2.25 Haydock - Not sure can back Katkeau again just yet despite being well in and looked poor at Haydock last time. Uncle Jimmy needs a real test and might get that today at big price. Trustan Times 20/1 and Vieux Lion Rouge 12/1 very interesting, but this a is tough race

2.40 Ascot - Faugheen is likely winner but not backing at these odds

3.00 Haydock - Most of these will be primed for today. Reckon last year's winner Cue Card 4/1 is the one to be with. Dynaste. Medermit ran a blinder last race and looks close to back to best and Menorah is def back to his best so could be a huge threat. SC is just an enigma and I reckon will travel really strongly into the race and then flop again. Might put a huge lay in running at low odds. TDS could also have a say. Hard race to call

3.20 Gowran Park - Wounded Warrior 4/1 went up against a decent one last time, but hopefully his turn today

3.35 Haydock - Lackamon is one for the Durham National so maybe not today. Masters Hill 4/1 looks seriously well handicapped and looks like he only ever runs well on first start of season but Shotofvodka 8/1 could win too based on form from May

3.50 Ascot - No No Manolito 11/8 looks a really good horse and one to follow

Friday 21 November 2014

Bets 21/11/2014

1.20 Haydock - Always have to take on a short price fave in a 4 horse race and Third Intention 5/1 who has rated in 150's a goes well fresh has to be the one to try it with

1.30 Ascot - Killala Quay 9/4 - Longsdon likes this one and could be one for Chelts festival

1.55 Haydock - The Brock Again 7/4 should win at the weights

2.30 Haydock - Nicholls reckon's Nickys' Golden Hoof is the one to beat but I reckon Grand Vision 7/1 who likes Haydock might pull a rabbit out. He clearly had a crap year last year, but if you go back two years he was a class act and may well find that form again?

3.15 Ascot - Grandad's Horse 11/1 takes a big step down in class and he has won a few C3 Handicaps of this mark before so should have a chance again today despite top weight

Monday 17 November 2014

Bets 17/11/2014

A few today at Leicester Nyanza, Three Kingdoms and Miles To Memphis. £100 treble 7/1

Sunday 16 November 2014

Bets 16/11/2014

A good day yesterday and was nearly a very good day for accs. Unfortunately Kings Palace was too good for S Sunrise. In the big race I had a combination tricast for Johns Spirit, Oscar W, Buywise and Present View so you can imagine how peeved I was when Caid Du Berlais won as the rest came 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th! Anyhow still landed some good accs.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost is on today too:

2.40 Chelts – Dodging Bullets 11/4 – weird choice for him as he bums Module so hope he not moving markets for a better price on Module!! Sure he wouldn’t?!

3.15 Chelts – Baradari 14/1 and Regal Encore 16/1

Right, my pop….
1.15 Fontwell – Meetmeathemoon will become a decent stayer but Wizards Bridge 11/10 is one of best in the Tizzard yard

1.25 Cork – Black Hercules 4/11. Expect to see him at Chelts in March

1.35 Chelts – Commissioned needs good ground according to trainer. STD reckons Emerging Talent 6/4 is one to follow and the form is very good

1.40 Punchestown – Pretty big jump into Graded class for Security Breach, might be worth a pop at 20/1, but Very Wood 9/4 is class and will no doubt see him again at Chelts festival

2.10 Chelts – Dunraven Storm is decent but does not want ground too soft and surely the Nicholls domination of this meeting will continue with Vibrato Valtat 9/4

2.15 Punchestown – Jezki 8/11

2.40 Chelts – Dodging Bullets 5/2 ought to win with conditions. Loves the track too but I do worry about Uxizandre. Module has a lot of weight to concede to DB

2.25 Fontwell – Kings Lad 9/2 looks pretty decent based on Newbury run. Hopefully not a fluke. Knight of Pleasure also looks good but will go for bigger price

3.15 Chelts – This is a ridiculously tough one. Exitas is chucked in, yes, but not at this level surely. Goodwood Mirage 14/1 has been aimed at this and was fairly well fancied in the Fred Winter so might be worth a pop. Vaniteux has it all to do off top weight so will pass. Not sure if Clondaw is up to this level despite low weight. If Pearl Swan 18/1 or Olofi 22/1 are fit they should win on C&D and handicap mark

3.50 Chelts – Aqalim 4/1. STD reckons will take all the beating but Hendo nominated Birch Hill as one to follow and really likes this horse

Saturday 15 November 2014

Bets 15/11/2014

Restored a good amount of faith in my jumps punting yesterday. Annoying I didn't take full advantage of having a feeling about Hobbs having a good day, but nonetheless still made a decent return.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped a number today:

2.00 Lingfield - Seeking Magic 12/1
2.30 Chelts - King Massini 33/1
2.35 Lingfield - Energia Davos 8/1
3.00 Chelts - Katkeau 6/1

I'm getting excited about the jumps season! Ahhhh.

12.40 Chelts - Royal Skies 14/1 was a poor fave last time, but with a claimer not ruling this one out as working well at home according to trainer

1.05 Uttoxter - Zeroshadesofgrey 11/10 ought to romp

1.15 Chelt - Sausalito Sunrise 5/2 is a big RSA hope this year

1.50 Chelts - The Package 8/1 runs well fresh and will be a big handicap in him this year. Chicago Grey 10/1 interesting and looked liked need first run. Remember watching Cape Tribulation beating Imperial Commander too? Hmm. Tough race as even Lamb or Cod could nail this if soft ground no problem as could Golden Cheiftan. Ahh allow this race

2.00 Lingfield - Only betting on this because Segal is and I can't see passed the fave Intransigent 5/2.

2.30 Chelts - My Achilles Heel; Oscar Whiskey 11/1 because the ground will help him more than most. Present View, Buywise and Johns Spirit are all worthy at the top of the market and maybe a tricast could be a massive price

2.35 Lingfield - With Segal on this - Energia Davos 8/1

2.45 Punchestown - Ipsos Du Berlais 9/1 looks good value (if you pray jumping better)

2.50 Uttoxeter - Pure Science 4/1 was a horse I followed to little avail last year. Hopefully better this season

3.00 Chelts - Big Easy and Katkeau 6/1 are worthy market leaders. Not sure which way to go but a shade ahead for Katkeau because of ground and trainer says looks better than ever

3.35 Chelts - Golden Doyen 9/4 has the experience edge

4.05 Chelts - Daring Carlotta 9/4 having a great season

Friday 14 November 2014

Bets 14/11/2014

Hobbs could have a VERY good day today.....

Chelts 1.50 - There are few C&D winners here who you SHOULD back, but I'm taking a proper gamble on Bold Henry 12/1. I've seen Hobbs brings back horses after long lay offs and if he does with BH and he takes to Chelts is seriously well handicapped. I know Anay Turge won this last year and also Pipe said "watch out" about Monetaire. Might need further though,

Chelts 3.35 - Balthazar King Evs

Chelts 4.05 - River Deep 10/1. On paper MASSIVE price. Beat a 133 rated by 3 lengths when giving 6lb. And that horse won a G2 Handicap of 137. Could equal a River Deep romp?? Sure must be missing something.

Others:
1.05 Newcastle - Molo 10/11
4.00 Wolves - Sneaking Budge 3/1

Tuesday 11 November 2014

Bets 11/11/2014

2.40 Huntingdon - Ned Stark 15/8. King says is an 'exciting chase prospect'

Saturday 8 November 2014

Bets 08/11/2014

Just a few, but nothing concrete today. Trying out a few things out and no expectations. Next week back in full.....

12.20 Wincanton - Gaitway 4/5

1.20 Sandown - Chris Pea Green 13/8

1.30 Wincanton - Horizontal Speed 5/2

1.35 Naas - Free Expression 9/4

1.55 Sandown - Baron Alco 11/2

2.30 Sandown - Foundation Man 7/1

Donny 3.35 - Plutocracy 16/1

3.40 Sandown - Caulfields Venture 7/1

3.55 Naas - Jack Slade 3/1

Sunday 2 November 2014

Taking couple weeks out

The jumps season has started as badly as it was all last season for me so going to take some time to read and watch videos whilst the season settles in.

The end of the flat season was also painful (as always) except Champions Day (as always)

I will be back :)

Saturday 1 November 2014

Bets 01/11/2014

Again only half bets today. I’m not in jumps mode yet and lost a wad on Breeders last year!

12.40 Ascot – Rascal 11/2 looks on a good mark

1.05 Ayr – Ardnahoe 9/4 has good chance to open account over hurdles

1.30 Wetherby – Turn Over Sivola 10/3 might upset the fave

1.45 Ascot – Monkey Kingdom 4/1 is a better chaser than hurdler based on last run so could be on good mark

2.05 Wetherby – Aurore D’Estruval 11/8 ought to win. Top rated, best form, vbe

2.20 Ascot – Manyriverstocross 6/1 goes well fresh and loves Ascot and just hope not too high in weights

2.30 Down Royal – At the weights Ma Filleule 4/1 has a massive chance

3.00 Ascot – Mountain King 6/1 can take this is settles better

3.15 Wetherby – Medermit 10/1 is too big, although the favourite is likely to win followed by TDS and hoping Medermit at this weight can pull off a win. If he had a 10lb pull in the Punchestown Gold Cup he would have beaten Boston Bob…

3.35 Ascot – Le Bec is one to keep an eye on. For this race though hoping Merry King 8/1 can go one better than last year

9.05 SA – Home Run Kitten 14/1
11.01 SA – Rich Tapestry 11/2

Maybe a Dank/Telescope Double, doubt it though

And maybe a Hendo treble at Ascot with Sign of a Vic, Chapel Hall and Clondaw Banker

Thursday 30 October 2014

Bets 30/10/2014

2.40 Stratford - King said L'Amiral David 10/1 ome of best last year. Not proven but worth a chance

Bets 27/10/2014

I had a bad feeling about Sat and thankfully only had half bets...
Cant check cards today but have Blue Rambler 4/1 3.30 Leicester on tracker noted with "group horse"

Saturday 25 October 2014

Bets 25/10/2014

I have done no reading or viewing of the jumps season yet so could be a tricky start. Down to half bets today.

Aintree 2.00 - Not done this in a while recalculating lengths to pounds over jumps. I'm always wary of horses switching between discplines but Handazan 16/1 is a huge price. C&D winner, on a good mark back over hurdles and goes well fresh.

Donny 2.10 - Be a bit annoyed in Portamento 7/4 got beat. Very good on soft and in great nick

Newbury 2.20 - Tough one. Sky Hunter is the class horse, but I've always been a big Battalion fan. Segal has tipped him at 5/1, but I'm also going with Red Galileo 11/2 who ran a decent race last time out and if stays on this ground must have a decent chance at weights

Aintree 2.30 - I think, Roberto Pegasus 5/1 looks well handicapped but has had a couple of craps run in history so needs to put best effort in

Leapordstown 2.35 - Giovanni Canaletto 8/11

Donny 2.40 - Segal has tipped Oasis Fantasy but I'm going Ruwasi 13/2 who has rock solid form behind Winter Thunder and loves soft ground

Newbury 2.50 - Astrelle 4/1 - Being from Makfi should handle ground and decent form from last race

Aintree 3.00 - Segal has gone for Module but it's a handicap so need to be careful. I think Uxiandre 7/2 is one to beat after beating Oscar Whisky

Donny 3.15 - Segal has gone for Kickboxer, but at the weights I still think Golden Steps 7/1 is a better bet based on last time they faced each other at Leicester. Dungannon could be biggest threat

Newbury 3.30 - Ennistown 3/1 is back to form, handles ground and looks a decent favourite

Aintree 3.40 - Pigeon Island 3/1 has a 10lb claim - better put it to good use!

Donny 3.50 - Apparently Royal Navy Ship was a bit of a coup. I had no idea but when won at 16/1 I was pretty damn happy although watching Jacobean closing down at rapid rates scared me and Ladbrokes are telling me Jacobean 10/3 is the one to be with today even though Elm Park looks pretty solid.

Bets 18/10/2014

Have been looking fwd to today for a long time. Not now. Have too much work on to fully research and the ground is throwing up all sorts...

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has gone for:
2.20 Ascot - Eton Forever 20/1
2.55 Ascot - Madame Chiang 12/1
3.30 Ascot - Tullius 10/1
4.45 Ascot - Gabrial Kaka 25/1, Levitate 12/1

My pop....

Ascot 1.45 - Will never forget Rite of Passage and the colours of Forgotten Rules 7/2 make me think Weld has something up his sleeve here. Shu Lewis is a decent marker. I'm only going against Leading Light because of ground and similarly for Estimate

Ascot 2.20 - Yes G Force is the best horse, but the ground will find him out. Watch his first race. Eton Forever is a decent e/w pick by Seagull. Viztoria was really good last week, but it's a quick turnaround. Maarek 8/1 is a mud lover, has won this race before and looks like might be returning to form if does not bodge the break. An Saighdiur might be worth a few pennies e/w at 100/1

Ascot 2.55 - Uber tough. Tasaday looks a big price, but then again Cubinata could reverse form. I think this is a bet driven by frustration but Seal of Approval 13/2 is a decent horse on this ground. Again think Segal has a decent e/w choice too as MC has form with Treve!

Ascot 3.30 - Tough race, but Charm Spirit 9/2

Ascot 4.05 - Al Kazeem 28/1 e/w is surely too bigger price.

Ascot 4.45 - Dream Walker 20/1 e/w Massiver massive chance is drawn okay. Is a very good horse in heavy going and ran to better mark in Listed last time out on faster than ideal ground. Chatez 9/1 and Russian Realm 12/1 obvious chances

Wolves 7.45 - Not proven on Tapeta is a worry for me, but I've been told Plutocracy 4/1 is a banker. Massive step down in class.

Friday 17 October 2014

Bets 17/10/2014

Pricewise has tipped:
4.00 Newmarket - Kodi Bear 10/1
4.35 Newmarket - Here Comes When 12/1, Highland Colori 33/1

Just a few today:

2.55 Newmarket - Ivawood 4/5 is very classy, just hope not beaten by ground

3.40 Haydock - Shared Equity 5/1

4.00 Newmarket - Smugglers Cove 4/1 beat an 85 rated horse by 9 lengths and 98 rated horse by 10lenghts!!

4.35 Newmarket - Thawanny 11/4

5.10 Newmarket - Air Pilot 4/1

Bets 14/10/2014

18/1 winner on Sunday - good result. Cleared up them mess from  Friday and Saturday. Couple small bets to keep going but nothing exciting

4.10 Leicester - Atab 2/1 on Pedigree and experience

7.00 Wolves - Waldnah 5/4

Sunday 12 October 2014

Bets 12/10/2014

Need to get on the jumps agenda ASAP because I have had two awful days on the flat. It always happens to me this time of the year, yet I still persist! :)

Segal saved me yesterday with a 8/1 winner and he has picked two favourites in two big races today!

Curragh 4.20 - Clondaw Warrior 6/1

Limerick 5.10 - Bose Ikard 6/1

Hopefully at least one winner today!

Curragh 2.10 - Always on the look out for a decent AOB second string - Royal Navy Ship 18/1 looks good just on the basis is still left in the mix for the Dewhurst

Curragh 3.10 - At the weights Viztoria 9/4 has no excuses

Curragh 3.45 - Together Forever looks good enough 7/4

Curragh 4.20 - Asbury Boss 16/1 e/w has very good form and looks progressive. Hope stays

Goodwood 2.00 - Our Folly 10/1 solid form

Goodwood 3.40 - Humidor 4/1

Goodwood 4.45 - Secateur 9/4

Goodwood 5.15 - Soviet Courage 7/4 - lump job

Saturday 11 October 2014

Bets 11/10/2014

I've not had a whitewash in a long time, but burned £1k yesterday. Painful. Back end of season always gets me. Will rethink today....as faves getting turned over all over the place.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped a few:

2.20 York - Sudden Wonder 9/1
3.10 Newmarket - Min Alemarat 20/1, Stechworth 20/1
3.30 York - Rene Mathis 28/1
2.50 Newmarket - Jonny Delta 40/1

York 1.50 - Lily Rules 12/1 has been punching above her weight but now drops into a Class 2 handicap. With the form she put up a York, the 7lb claim and a trainer who has banged in a 14/1 and 11/1 this week have to be on.

York 2.20 - First Flight 4/1 looks a decent bet on form and Balty Boys 16/1 might be a sneaky punt based on form behind Captain Cat, but not sure likes York...

York 3.30 - Aetna 7/2 has won me tons this season and am tempted to put that all in here. For me te danger is Highland Colori who won the Ayr Gold Cup last time was in a handicap of 104. on 103 today, but still think Aetna has more in hand.

York 4.45 - Jim Goldie looks like he up to one. Caledonia 16/1 was ridden conservatively last time. He ran very well at Muss'b coming from last to first. Might see something similar today...

York 5.20 - After Old Town Boys win yesterday Ultimate Act 25/1 is interesting

Newmarket 2.05 - Bartholomew Fair 9/1 - Varian thinks a lot of this one.

Newmarket 2.40 - Talmada 10/1 has best form behind Braclet on show

Newmarket 3.10 - If Top Tug 10/1 is fit will bolt up. I always go back to that Toast of New York form and also look what Cloudscape went on to do.

Newmarket 3.50  - Last years race was a joke. Scatter Dice 66/1 who blew the start by a long way bolted up. No idea where it came from. Communicator 20/1 ran well last time and will be suited by trip up and Rhombus 25/1 who bolted up he over 2m two races ago get my votes

Newmarket 5.40 - I heart old boy Nanton 12/1

Friday 10 October 2014

Bets 10/10/2014

Some decent jumps today, but need time for that to absorb first.

York 2.00 - Geordie George 15/2

York 2.30 - Top Boy 18/1, Pearl Blue 12/1

York 3.00 - Balducci 22/1

York 4.05 - Esteaming 15/2, Chancery 7/1

York 5.10 - Rousayan 8/1

Carlisle 5.20 - A chap I met at the Henessey Festival couple years ago called me this morning to say Deadly Move 5/4 is a solid bet

Wednesday 8 October 2014

Bets 08/10/2014

6.55 Kempton - Convey 4/5 - One of Stoute's best 2 year olds. Might need the run, but that's the risk you take.

7.55 Kempton - Hmm, Almerzem went up 9lb for a decent C&D win and Clear Mind might not be that well handicapped on debut. Sweetheart Abbey 33/1 e/w has to have a chance if you are able to draw a line through last run on turf. Now back to AW could be a shock?

Monday 6 October 2014

Bets 06/10/2014

I knew Longchamp would be tricky but actually lookinh at some of the winners you would think some people would be rolling it.

Just quickly at Pontefract - 2.10 Oceanography , 3.40 Statutory,  5.10 Fallen In Line and at Windsor 2.20 Rocky Rider

Sunday 5 October 2014

Bets 05/10/2014

13.20pm update...Just remembered the low draw bias. Didn't pay any attention to it. Whoooops!!!

Despite the weather racked up over £11k yesterday thanks to a juicy 5 fold; Limato, Muteela, Purple Rock, Dukes Delight and Tinghir. Happy days. Segal landed a 10/1 and 6/1 and I had 5 non runners, so everything worked out well.

Pricewise has gone for:

1.00 Longchamp - Moviesta 14/1, Cotai Glory 12/1
2.45 Longchamp - Lavender Lane 22/1
3.30 Longchamp - Filntshire 22/1
4.40 Longchamp - Fiesolana 10/1

I know very little French form so back to half stakes for Longchamp:

1.00 Longchamp - Just looking for decent C&D winners. I did back Sole Power AP @5/1 but is a hard race. Maarek won this last year but not is same form. I though Catcall 16/1 was going to win last year and he has beaten many of these before so looks big at 16/1

1.35 Longchamp - Found 11/4 is bloody good on the CG form and Ladbrokes going 2/1 says AOB thinks this horse will win. I think Night of the Light 20/1 is biggest danger

2.10 Longchamp - The Wow Signal 2/1 is one of my faves, Gleneagles looks bloody good, but Territories 16/1 might pull it off as well

2.45 Longchamp - Narniyn 10/1 C&D winner and will outrun price on paper

3.30 Longchamp - I backed 3 horses AP for this. Sea The Moon 8/1, Ectot 50/1 and Avenir Certain 18/1. Am gutted about STM, but I still like my other two picks. I think Segal is right to back Flintshire but my STM replacement is Harp Star 9/1. Very good horse

4.50 Longchamp - Karakontie 6/1

5.20 Longchamp - Bathyrhon 6/1 beat most of these before

Saturday 4 October 2014

Bets 04/10/2014

I was looking forward to making big bucks today. Once again, very annoyingly it is raining all over the country. With no idea what it will do to the ground, all bets are more risky. Part of me says don’t even bother betting because looking back at my blogs where it’s starts raining on Saturdays theres little to be happy about. GRRRRR…

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has gone for 3 today in UK:
3.15 Ascot - Lightening Moon 10/1
3.30 Newmarket – Sky Lantern 9/1
3.50 Ascot – Chil The Kite 16/1

And to en France:
2.40 Longchamp – All At Sea 8/1
3.15 Longchamp – Fractional 6/1

Bloody rain….

Ascot 2.05 – Muthmir 6/4 is the best horse in the race. If it rains to much will scupper him.

Ascot 2.40 – Never realised there was a southern hempshpher filly allowance! That makes Energia Fribby interesting, but I fancy 2012 Leger winner Encke 11/8 today

Ascot 3.50 – American Hope 8/1 good chance on Ascot form, but again rain could end chances

Ascot 4.25 – Queen Catrine 9/2 only because has Ascot form else Al Thakhira is decent

Ascot - 5.00 – Iffranesia 20/1 good e/w shout on Ascot form and was badly ridden last race

**

Newmarket 1.50 – Very Special is well touted but Osaila is the clear proven class. Not sure will bet

Newmarket 2.55 – Yodelling would have been a banker but bloody rain forecast so not sure as Local Time is also decent

Newmarket 4.40 – I’ve followed a few good formlines this season and hopefully this one is still all good; Penny Drops 6/1 (Eastern Impact, Fast Track), but Minalisa 2/1 does also look s strong favourite

Newmarket 5.15 – Kinshasa 11/2 unlucky last time

**

Redcar 3.05 – Another banker Limato 15/8 not as confident with the damn rain

Redcar 3.45 - Muteela 5/1

Redcar 4.20 – Purple Rock 13/8 Derby entry okay debut, but crucially has experience

Redcar 5.30 – Calm Attitude 9/2 massive step down in class

**

Wolves 7.00 – Dukes Delight 10/3 well handicapped

Wolves 7.30 – Tinghir 3/1 NAP – Bolted up on Tapeta last time

Friday 3 October 2014

Bet 03/10/2014

Tomorrow looks a cracking day. Some free money looking bets too!! Today couple of strong favourites I hope.

Ascot 2.00 - Scottish Glen 10/1
Ascot 3.05 - Telmeyd 13/8
Ascot 3.40 - Marzocco 13/8

Sunday 28 September 2014

Bets 28/09/2014

Like I said on Friday I just can't crack Newmarket. Glad reduced stakes!

Musselborough 2.00 - Manshaa 2/5
Curragh 2.45 - Bolger put in good word for Stellar Glow 6/4
Epsom 2.45 - Christophermarlowe 6/5
Epsom 5.05 - Ghany 4/9

Saturday 27 September 2014

Bets 27/09/2014

I'm heading back down to £50 stakes for the rest of the flat season, except for Champions Day where, on track, I'll be going nuts. Yesterday was really frustrating watching Hughes give Queen of Ice a peach as I was really really heavy on Jordan Princess. E/W thankfully. Apart from that race though I was too far away from the right answer and not following racing for the last two months is clouding my judgement. But won't stop me from trying to win it big....

2.25 Haydock - Loaves and Fishes 5/2

2.30 Newmarket - Sandy Cay 2/1 followed home by Rosalie Bonheur

2.35 Newmarket - After watching Toocoolforschool bolt up I have no choice but to back Nafaqa 6/4

3.05 Chester - Examiner 10/3 good draw and should have won last time

3.10 Newmarket - Most people will be on Tiggy Wiggy here and you can see why. She is class and will take some pegging back. But, I think she might set it up perfectly for High Celebrity 9/2 who is pure class and lightly raced. TW has had a long season and yes is the best 2yr old filly in a long time, but doesn't mean can't be beaten by a horse who will be a big contender for the Guineas next year.

3.50 Newmarket - You could back at least 10 of these. If you watch the Silver version yesterday you know you want to be on the high draw and therefore Cornrow 8/1 is the one I am on. Segal has tipped Maverick Wave 25/1 and for me Gosden has been drawn the heaven draw. Maverick and Conrow both drawn high and next to each other. Maverick will ensure the pace and Cornrow will win :) Easy! Ha.

4.10 Newmarket - Long Awaited 10/1 will have a long awaited win

4.15 Chester - Kinematic 9/4 form behind Ivawood and Charming Thought should be good enough to win this

5.10 Market Rasen - Midnight Shot 10/3

5.35 Newmarket - Suzi's Connoisseur 10/1 has form with Fast Track and Eastern Impact who are rock solid handicappers. Didn't like Donny last time, hampered time before that so hoping for it to drop today. Steventon Star at a huge price was tempting but trainer is not having a good time at the moment

Friday 26 September 2014

Bets 26/09/2014

I always struggle at Newmarket. I don't know why....

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has tipped two today:
2.10 Newmarket - Jordan Princess 13/2
3.15 Newmarket - Wannabe Yours 11/2

Looks a tough day....

1.40 Newmarket - Belle D'Or is one of those I knew I should have backed last time and I'll probably regret  not backing again. I thought was quite lucky in the end to win last race. Provenance looks decent too and both will no doubt improve further. I still feel though you should always go with the proven class sometimes and so Zibelina 8/1 gets my vote. Top rated and didn't get any light or the pace she needed or the ground so it all may click today!

2.10 Newmarket - The top of the market is pretty much spot on. Queen of Ice is the best horse, but carries a penalty. Criteria is the next best ion Ascot form but poor Newmarket run puts me off. My Spirit's form does not fully add up. Jordan Princess 6/1 ran to 93 RPR at this course on her 3rd race. Really impressive last time with step up in trip last time. Watch the race. It's phenomenal. If she can produce speed like that again will be very exciting.

2.40 Newmarket - Lucida 6/4 has been backed all week for the 1000G. Even more money today. The form is solid and let's hope lands this

3.15 Newmarket - Captain Cat looks really decent against average horses. He may well be Group 1. A horse who is Group 1, in fact a Breeders Turf winner is Outstrip 8/1. Can't believe a the top rated horse and the only G1 winner in this race is 8/1. Something must be wrong with him? After Mr. Balding's death would be amazing if Tullius 6/1 could win and does have a chance and using Toronado as a marker that stacks up against Outstrip. Tempting tricast.

3.45 Newmarket - Surely just a formality for Windshear 13/8 if not damaged by Leger

4.25 Newmarket - 2yr NH Newmarket defaults to SBS. He runs Yamllik 13/2 who has only G1 entry in field.

5.00 Newmarket - If Munaaser 8/1 is drawn on the right side, and is in same form as two races ago has a big chance. I always try to find a gem in races like this an it might be Eurystheus 20/1. Based on last race in a class 3 is about 5lb ahead of mark and also gets a 5lb claim so be interesting. Another is Lacan 12/1. Look at the form with Wannabe Yours, although the rematch with GM Hopkins means GMH ought to win. Hmmm. Tough race.

Bets 25/09/2014

Lankan Rupee in Auz

2.00 Newmarket - Mohatem 6/4 great late headway last time
2.35 Newmarket - Prince Gargarin 7/2
3.40 Newmarket - Azraff 7/1 good course form looks worthy stepping up in class
4.50 Newmarket - Master of the World 5/1

Wednesday 24 September 2014

Bets 24/09/2014

Goodwood 2.05 - Frognal Bear 13/2. Step up in favour
Goodwood 2.40 - Dissolution 4/6 will win easily (I hope)
Goodwood 3.50 - Grandeur 8/11 is class act in race
Goodwood 4.25 - Blue Surf 4/1, but Pat Dobbs needs to work this well
Goodwood 4.55 - Parisian Pyramid 8/1 should have won last time, and is a course winner
Kempton 6.20 - Loudly 6/4 has a G1 entry next month.

Monday 22 September 2014

Bets 22/09/2014

Kempton 2.40 - Strong Chemistry 4/7
Kempton 4.40 - Perfect Alchemy 4/1

Leicester 2.30 - Viceroyalty 11/8
Leicester 3.00 - Charming Thought 11/8

Sunday 21 September 2014

Bets 21/09/2014

Air Pilot = happy days. Cannot believe he went off at 9/2 with that form on show. Anyhow, clearly not complaining. I lost a few bob backing maidens again, but another storming flat festival.

4.00 Plumpton - Pricewise has backed Triumphant. Not convinced especially at such a short price in such a tough race. Cool Sky, Purple N Gold and Castlemorris King all have solid form but using Ittraid as a marker I think Castlemorris King 10/1 comes out on top unless PnG was hampered more than I think. If you take last years form then Screaming Brave 25/1 absolutely thumps CK at these weights, but might be tough after such a long break.

4.30 Plumpton - Teak 6/4 looks decent

5.25 Gowran Park - Quartz 11/4

Saturday 20 September 2014

Bets 20/09/2014

Thought Classy Anne was going to land me a decent wad yesterday, but no luck in running. Today every horse will be running towards the draw bias so will get congested and a lot of luck will be needed at Ayr.

Ayr 2.05 – Prize Exhibit 9/1 looks a huge price. I remember watching last race. Was cruising, last of the bridle. Tudhope better time this right.

Ayr 2.40 – Bogart 11/1 ran a cracker behind a group horse last time, is a C&D winner and is in a plum draw.

Ayr 3.50 – Tom Pricewise Segal has gone for a couple of decent chance; Highland Acclaim 12/1 in good form and Loius The Pious 16/1 in first time visor and also from the same form line. From that race I like Hawkthenoeye 25/1 and also Blaine 12/1 who landed me a massive pot last time.

Ayr 4.25 – Murraher 14/1 a C&D winner takes step down in class so had a chance

Ayr 5.00 – Earth Drummer 6/1 looked pretty unlucky last time. Not sure if Athletic was flattered last time or is ahead of mark

Ayr 5.35 – Buthelezi 4/1 takes a big step down in class and is miles ahead of mark if back to anywhere near best. Forced Family Fun is also miles ahead of mark but not sure quick ground is ideal

Newbury 2.20 – I had £2k on Limato in the week. The rain came, but thankfully money was refunded. Clearly Strath Burn 7/4 is the class in this on this ground

Newbury 2.55 – Air Pilot 5/1. I have had this horse on my tracker for months and it’s keeps being withdrawn. I hope everything is right today as feels like a huge e/w bet for me. Border Ledgend is of interest, but ground is perfect for Air Pilot who has serious form which has been franked all season long

Newbury 3.30 – Mecca’s Angel 2/1 is the fastest horse Dods has ever trained. 3year olds have a good
record in this race and MA showed class last time out. Justice Day is a threat….

Newbury 4.40 – Puissant 7/1

Newmarket 1.55 – Moonlight Sonata 11/8

Newmarket 2.30 – Sperry 15/8

Newmarket 5.25 – Desert Snow 10/1 could easily bounce back on better conditions as is well handicapped. Asyad 9/2 looks decent too

Friday 19 September 2014

Bets 19/09/2014

2.40 Ayr - Segal has gone for Polski Max and Mishaal. I absolutely agree. Good form and good draw. Gran Canaria Queen could go close too.

3.10 Ayr - Classy Anne 20/1

3.45 Ayr - Squats 11/4 although Miss Mulberry 16/1 looks a big price

4.05 Newbury - Marsh Hawk 10/11

4.40 Newbury - Lady Lara 6/1

Wednesday 17 September 2014

Bets 17/09/2014

It's painful not having time to punt and watch racing at the moment. I have 10 minutes today...

2.30 Sandown - Dartmouth 11/4 is apparently one of the best 2yr olds in yard. Has a Derby entry and hopefully first outing was a needed one.

4.40 Listowel - Tom Pricewise Segal has gone for Klepht 14/1 and Heaney 14/1. On The Way Out 28/1 won well last time and Wise Old Owl 18/1 badly hampered last time looks a massive price on form from 2010 and 2011. Clearly you have to back McCoy's Alderwood 8/1

Friday 12 September 2014

Bets 12/09/2014

I have no idea what is hot and what is not anymore. 4 weeks away from in depth form and videos and you become like most other punters. I'm in Greece at the moment and the wifi is atrocious so can't go in depth, but let's see what happens...

Donny 1.40 - Sarista 33/1
Donny 2.10 - Retirement Plan 12/1
Donny 2.40 - Brass Ring 18/1
Donny 5.00 - Loving Home 5/1

Saturday 6 September 2014

Bets 06/09/2014

Being back at work, has put a sharp end to my punting. No midweek form, no video form, no extra info from the RP, so I'd be staggered if I can maintain bookie bashing. But, let's see....

Tom Pricewise Segal has gone for five today:

1.55 Ascot - Redvers 10/1
3.15 Haydock - Big Thunder 16/1
3.30 Ascot - Gwafa 14/1
3.50 Haydock - Baccarat 20/1, Music Master 8/1

My pop...

Ascot 1.55 - I've always been a C&D fan especially of the same race so agree it's worth backing Redvers 10/1 who is on same mark as last year, in okay form and trainer is keen. Conrow looks pretty solid @ 4/1 and is Antepost favourite for the Cambridgeshire. Will have to win well to confirm a place I reckon. Buick knew Safety Check 8/1 was not getting there last time out, but if Cam gets positioning right today then that 5lb claim is going to massive. Day of Conquest in interesting on that form too but I think Safety Check has more in hand. Don't Call Me likely needs 8f. Pacific Heights 16/1 and Fort Bastion 25/1 could turn the tables on Heavy Metal too. Tough Opener.

Haydock 2.05 - Confessional 9/2 can reverse the placings with Barnet Fair. Inxile 20/1 is well handicapped on better form, but goes well at Haydock. Needs to break well

Kempton 2.20 - Secret Number 3/1

Ascot 2.25 - Sugar Boy 8/1

Haydock 2.40 - Short Squeeze 7/2 won so well last time but clearly Captain Cat is also class and Doyle rode a shocker on him last time. SS gets an allowance and has Course form so let's hope.

Kempton 2.55 - Buckstay 9/2 and Lawmans Thunder 10/1

Ascot 3.00 - 4 horse race, avoiding.

Haydock 3.15 - Epsom Hill 9/1 looks miles ahead of the Handicapper and Havana Cooler 5/1 is an obvious favourite too

Ascot 3.35 - You can tell Segal really fancies Gwafa 12/1 and I can see why. Satellite. Is Nancy From Nairobi a big price? Hmm. Not sure. Might be based on the Ribbesdale but can't be sure. Battersea is the obvious pick here, but Varian's horses not going too great. Satellite 16/1 could also be better than last two runs. Connections are confident he is.

Haydock 3.50 - Just love Sole Power. Backed 5/1 Antepost. Just hoping the rain stays away. G Force 10/1 could be a threat.

Ascot 4.05 - Squats 5/2 is decent

Kempton 4.10 - Home of The Brave 6/5

Haydock 4.25 - Roosey 2/1

Ascot 4.40 - Hmmm. Fray looks the obvious choice here but using Hala Hala 25/1 as a formline could be an interesting outsider.

Haydock 5.00 - Celestial Path 5/2. Stable does well with winning debutants

Ascot 5.15 - Gabbiano 14/1 is down a fair whack in an easier race.

Haydock 5.30 - Purple Spectrum 6/1

Tuesday 2 September 2014

Bets 02/09/2014

Goodwood 2.55 - Soviet Courage 8/11 strong form
Goodwood 4.05 - Johnny Barnes 13/8 86RPR on debut and very impressive when doing so
Kempton 7.50 - Ragged Robin 6/5 still miles ahead of handicapper
Kempton 8.20 - Gone With The Wind 7/2

2.05 Curragh - Today we will see this years Racing Post Trophy winner - Ol' Man River. Buzz out of the Ballydole stable for this one. Has been backed in from 40/1 into 25/1 this week for next years Derby. The only problem with backing him today is only 4/5, first run and tough draw. Instead might have a few bob some Ante Post markets.

3.05 Curragh - Cappella Sansevero 5/4 in the best horse on show

3.35 Curragh - Palace 8/1 was beaten by todays favourite Carla Bianca. Weld's other runner also beat Palace. But, AOB stable in much better form than early season and at this distance every reason to think Palace can reverse the form.

4.35 Curragh - Segal has gone for Hanasour 7/1. Bold Thady Quill 25/1 e/w 5 places with B365 has a solid e/w chance. Maybe Hint of a Tint 11/1 is slightly better here at Curragh.

France

1.30 Deauville - Fireship 9/1
2.40 Deauville - Gatewood 11/10
3.10 Deauville - Zejel 7/4

Man have I missed punting. Working 6am till 8pm again and is killing my game. However had a phat lump on Time Test yesterday and it satisfied my craving.

Tom Pricewise Segal from the Racingpost has gone for:

Beverley 2.25 – Line of Reason 16/1
Chester 2.55 – Russian Realm 8/1
Sandown 3.15 – Diamond Dove 10/1
Sandown 3.50 – Ajmany 10/1, Rydan 16/1

My go, although health warning about the weather. I never have good days when weather jockeys about. I’m also going to bet on pretty much every race. £150 otn on every bet, so could blow a wad!

BEVERLEY

Beverley 2.25 – Segal reckons Line of Reason 16/1. Rocky Ground 5/1 and Addictive Dream 12/1 might be better bets

Beverley 3.05 – Thatcherite 15/2 “he could win on the bridle” if he turns up. What the trainer says

Beverley 3.40 – Tom Sawyer 7/1 good draw, good chance, step down in class

Beverley 4.15 – Scallop 2/1 strong form

Beverley 4.50 – I like C&D winners at Beverley. 3yr olds do well in this race and so am with Jacbequick 16/1

SANDOWN

Sandown 2.05 – Ajjaad 10/1 and Tagula Night 9/1 are both well drawn are C&D winners and I’m looking that Millys Gift form thinking that 80/1 r f/c looks tasty.

Sandown 2.40 – Pallister 8/1. MJ won this race a couple times and think is value at 8/1 based on form

Sandown 3.15 – Fabre says Fintry not fully fit. If he a punter then he will be laughing as he pushes up price, but if real then Segal pick Diamond Dove 10/1 one to side with at the weights

Sandown 3.50 – Think market is right. Forgotten Hero 8/1 solid chance as does Mount Shamson 10/1. Both Segals picks Ajmany and Rydan very good chances

Sandown 4.25 – Assault on Rome 8/1 looks the best handicapped on best form

Sandown 5.00 – Green Zone 7/2 won really well last time and still ahead of mark

Sandown 5.30 Norway Cross 6/1 disappointing favourite last time. If back to form ahead of mark

CHESTER

Chester 2.20 – B Fifty Two 7/2 good draw, solid form good chance

Chester 2.55 – Beau Nash 10/1 decent chance back with cut in the ground and 3yr olds do well in this. Ocean Tempest 14/1 and Foxtrot Romeo 7/1 also have a chance esp OT who is a C&D winner

Chester 4.05 - Marigot Bay 9/1 tentatively as maybe well handicapped with form against Parsley

Chester 4.40 – Azmaam Evs

Chester 5.40 – English Summer 4/1

BATH

Bath 6.15 – Elysian Flyer 8/11

NEWTON ABBOT

2.45 Newon Abbot - Clerk Choice 7/1, Join The Clan 7/1

Bets 29/08/2014

3.00 Sandown - Time Test 4/5 RPR 83 debut. my notes say "yards best 2yr old"

Monday 25 August 2014

Bets 25/08/2014

Unbelievable. I one day I don't read the RacingPost in about 4 months and Tom Pricewise Segal hits a 25/1 winner. Typical. Bloody typical. No decent racing today, so hope I don't thrown away a chunk of my decent winnings especially as the weather will change things...

2.15 Newcastle - Bartel 11/4 very strong debut

2.30 Warwick - Fewer Few 3/1

2.40 Epsom - I know not to bet in races like this anymore but I've looked and it's too late. What A Dandy 11/1. Has learned to settle better and better and ran pretty well last time. Could be ahead of mark. But, low class races very rarely work out, so is the last one am looking at today.

3.05 Warwick - Gracies Gift 9/4

3.10 Epsom - Long Awaited 7/2. Damnit was 6/1 last night when saw. Seeking Magic 13/2 not out of it and might make a decent r f/c if SM can bounce back to form over a C&D we know performs at

3.35 Ripon - Kommander Kirkup 5/1 well handicapped if produces best.

3.40 Warwick - What's happened to Rex Imperator? Is it s clue he is 3/1 and back to form? Hmm. Clear Spring 7/1 ran well last time and will like the slower conditions and is a C&D winner.

3.45 Epsom - Not sure I've ever backed Fattsota 3/1. But think has a decent chance today. In great form and won this race last year. Haafaguinea is obvious danger

4.20 Epsom - Another race I would not normally bet on, but purely so I can say go on you jockey Mr Alex Ferguson; Hyperlink 11/2. Won his last race by 5 lengths so not a forlorn hope.

4.45 Ripon - Can you believe Osteopathic Remedy has won this race 4 times @ 10/1, 12/1, 18/1 and 15/2! 15/2 again today to repeat the trick. Why not? Won last time out. Inglebly Angel 20/1 in a much easier race. Ignore Ascot race as looks likes does not go well there.

5.30 Epsom - May not be today, but keep on side of Approach The West 20/1 until 100% sure not going to make it. If reproduces maiden level will go close.

Had £1300 e/w on Pallastor so money back. £150 on Mutual Regard. Imagine I did that the other way around. Had a strong feeling about that one and the double with Muhaarar paid another £1k. On top of Queensbury Rules and Tropics landed just shy of £5k. 4/6 in the Scoop 6 and the other 2 were placed!

Ascot, York and Goodwood Festivals have all treated me well this year.....

2.00 Goodwood - The Lampo Genie 6/4

2.40 Deauville - The Wow Signal 11/4

2.55 Curragh - Kingsbarns 10/11 doubled with 4.40 Leading Light 4/11

3.10 Deauville - Pollyana 5/1 form with CDA and Anodin

Bets 23/08/2014

After Glenard and Pale M rocked home in first two yesterday I was lined up for phat trebles, but nothing else obliged!

Segal has gone for:

York 2.40 - Connecticut 6/1, Adventure Seeker 12/1
York 3.15 - Accepted 8/1
Goodwood 3.30 - Chil The Kite 7/1

So much racing today.....

York 2.05 - Farraaj 7/4 in top form, loves York, top rated, worthy fave.

Goodwood 2.20 - Effloerscence 11/4 RPR 90 on debut is impressive

York 2.40 - Connecticut 6/1, loves York, ahead of mark, could be great day for Cumani. Adventure Seeker does have a good chance like Segal suggests and also so does Fun Mac 20/1 based on same formline.

Goodwood 2.55 - Magic City 7/1 and Instrgaient 12/1 last's year 1 and 2 could battle out again. American Hope 7/1 has strongest form.

York 3.05 - Hmm. Might be wrong, but on paper I think Muhaarar 7/1 is better than Baitha Alga through Ivawood formlines. Technically so is Jungle Cat, but MJs horses never do well at York and have not done so again last few days.

Newmarket 3.20 - Warrior of Light 3/1, beat elders last time pretty easily and can make all again today

Goodwood 3.30 - Captain Cat 2/1

York 3.50 - I always knew if Glenard won I would go heavy on Pallasator 9/2. I did, but having looked at the card, Ted Veale 20/1 has a huge e/w chance on last year's run and the claim gets today and Mutual Regard 22/1 has solid form behind Pale Mimosa.

Newmarket 3.55 - Tropics 4/1 looks huge based on last run. Intrinsic however 3/1 could also be class after an easy win last time.

Goodwood 4.05 - Exceedingly 4/1 very strong debut form

Newmarket 4.30 - Fyrecracker 4/1 and Charles Molson 8/1 has served me well and think these conditions will suit them both. Charles massive chance with the Eastern Impact form

York 5.00 - Cumani could land a big double with Ajman Bridge 5/1, but it's tough. Raskova 15/2 won ran a blinder behind Tasaday over C&D must have a solid chance. Maybe Queensbury Rules 12/1 but cheekpieces have to work

York 5.35 - Royal Mezyan 13/2 big chance. Lacked fitness last time, but ran well. Won by 6lenghts in maiden over C&D 3 races ago and on that alone is ahead of mark.

Windsor 5.45 - Swiss Kiss 6/1 based on turf maidens could be well handicapped.

Windsor 6.15 - Certificate 15/8 ahead of mark

Windsor 6.45 - Al Kazeem Evs

Bets 22/08/2014

Today Segal has picked:
1.55 – Chancery 12/1, Stomachion 8/1
3.05 – Gabriels Lad 9/1
3.40 – Astaire 28/1, Rangali 16/1

Right quick stab.

1.55 – Wigmore Hall C&D winner in very good nick with 7lb claim. Bloody hell so many C&D winners. Tough. Saptapadi is interesting based on last C&D form. It’s rock solid, but he ran on Tuesday and probably knackered. I backed Glenard 16/1 last time out when 3rd and the winner of that race is 4/1 fave for the Ebor, second place smashed King Fete, fourth place won a decent C2H so it’s damn strong form. The unknown is the track though. Tempted by Pearl Castle, Communicator and Lahaag, but will stick with Wigmore and Glenard. Argh too many.

2.30 – Pale Mimosa 7/2 has solid consistent form and can go one better. Weld had two flops yesterday so hoping not a bad omen. Cavalryman clealy best horse in race at the moment, but age/recovery time might go against him here.

3.05 – That is The Spirit 8/1 has solid C&D form. 3yr olds do well in this and I know they thought of this horse as a Group horse.

3.40 – Astaire 28/1 good choice Segal and I’d never heard of Rangali 16/1 but also a good pick. I nailed this race last year with Jwala 40/1 and 3 years ago with Margot Did 20/1. It’s tough this one. Sole Power and Shea Shea are always top of any list but Sole Power is not reported to be in top nick but I don’t think you will ever get a chance to back Shea Shea at 8/1 ever again and this could be his day to break his UK duck. Looks like has been drawn well too. I’ve ignored Take Cover 8/1 his last two runs but he looks up to the task too although I’d be slightly worried it’s not quick enough.

4.20 – Dissolution 7/2 looks well fancied. I like the look of Bright Flash 22/1. I had the winner of her maiden but I thought she ran well considering a horrendous start and poor draw. Loads of money for Foreign Diplomat but no experience to name. They are both drawn low which will probably kill me though…

4.55 – Short Squeeze cake walked this race last year as he did yesterday. I should take note of that. Probably not worth looking away from the top 3 in this. Mooharib has a chance and Extremity 5/1 is exiting but watch Munaaser’s 5/2 last race. Canter.

Newmarket 1.35 – Stay Silent 4/5 best of those with experience

Ffos Las 1.45 – Heartbreak Hero Evs best form on show

Newmarket 2.45 – Pasticcio 3/1

Newmarket 3.20 – I met someone at Ascot who knows the Meehan stable well and he text me this morning to Alkhayyam 7/2 is one of their best young ones so hopefully a decent one then!

Newmarket 4.30 – Royal Flag’s Evs form with Elkaayed in debut is rock

Goodwood 5.40 – Best of Times 11/8 strong form

Goodwood 6.45 – Great chance back in handicap company; Phychometry 3/1

Bets 21/08/2014

25 minutes card glancing earned me £3k yesterday. Blaine 22/1, Statuatory 12/1 placed, Postponed 4/1, Australia 4/6, Si Senor 2/1, Kibaar 20/1 placed. I doubt my luck will last and have even less time to look before work today and looks hard!!!

1.55 – Valley of Fire 10/1 is a decent C&D winner. Fast Act 6/1 represents Ryan who likes this horse. Ryan landed my Blaine yesterday and has won this race twice before in last 3 years. Segal has picked him and also picked Mubtaghaa 16/1 who has very good form behind Hootenanny. My pick is a massive outsider in Arthur Martinleake 40/1. That Loius DP form is working out well and I’ve taken lots of 10/1 placed on him. Silly race to bet on as even New Providence has a very good chance. ARGH.

2.30 – Cursory Glance 11/4

3.05 – Parbold 12/1 and Segal picked Passing Star 14/1

3.40 – Tag – Free Money

4.20 – Starlet 5/1 – Weld raider.

4.55 – Sparkle Factor 7/1 – Weld raider, Ticking Kate 18/1

5.15 Bath – Executrix 3/1

Bets 20/08/2014

Back to work and am struggling with punting time.

Segal has backed Jamaica 10/3 in 2.30, Postponed 6/1 in 3.05 and Telescope

1.55 - Segal has bailed out of this race. He is always first port of call, but I agree it's very hard. Not stopping me though. Blaine 20/1 looks a decent e/w bet. Would love York Glory 16/1 to bounce back but looks poor at the moment and I always have a dabble on Secret Witness 33/1 and Bogart 16/1 won this last year.

2.30 - Segal says Jamaica 10/3 as do Ladbrokes

3.05 - Segal says Postponed and I think has decent chance, but Kingston Hill 11/8 is surely the one who is leagues ahead on ratings? Problem is Varian and co are having a nightmare.

3.40 - Segal says Telescope 5/1 one close to my heart, but Australia 4/6 gets a massive weight allowance and is surely going to nail this. Ladbrokes say so

4.20 - Statutory 12/1 ran very well in Listed H here last time. Know goes the distance, step down in class and step up in trip, good chance. Totalize 12/1 step down is class and Bantam 8/1 progressive with good form look decent too.

4.55 - Shouldn't bet, but a 1 minute look points to Ternuntum Star 18/1, Kibaar 20/1 and Burtonwood 22/1

7.50 - Si Sinor 2/1

Sunday 17 August 2014

Bets 17/08/2014

Pontefract 2.45 - Alex Vino 7/4 has plenty of lbs in hand on the face of it

Looking at Spinatrix, Imshivalla and Hesbaan, but not enough time to fully look.

Kingman should win in France.

Bets 16/08/2014

No time today, so just very quickly:

3.05 Doncaster - Ya Latif 3/1
3.35 Newmarket - Winter Thunder Evs
3.50 Newbury - Gregorian 3/1

1pm update.. Also looking at Sir Guy Porteous 25/1, Eastern Impact 6/1, Seal of Approval 6/1, Doc Hay 14/1, Trader Jack 14/1

Friday 15 August 2014

Bets 15/08/2014

3.00 Newcastle - Mukhayyam 11/10. Stoute has a 40% SR here so sure he knows what he is doing by sending this one a long way.

3.20 Newbury - I remember landing this race couple years ago with Lily In Pink off top weight and I think Novirak 8/1 could do the same. The favourite is a 3yr old who has been put up 10lb for race won 2 weeks ago and that looks harsh. He could well be decent but Novirak is decent. Look at the form; it is rock solid. Appreciate has been off for a while but Fanshawe knows how to ready a horse after time off.

3.35 Newcastle - Trinity Star 11/2 with Cheekpieces back on and could have done better last time with more luck.

3.50 Deauville - Evita Peron 9/1 is def capable of winning a G3 in these conditions.

3.55 Newbury - This comes down to which form is better. Anthem Alex, Osaila, Cotai Glory or Limato? Tiggy Wiggy represents Anthem Alex form and is rock solid but Limato is probably the strongest form. However looking at distances beaten, excuses and ground I am tentatively siding with Blue Aegean 4/1

4.10 Newcastle - Lobster Pot 15/8 finished a fair way behind Tea in Transvaal on debut and ought to improve with that experience. TIT finished a couple lengths behind Taghrooda so at this level this form will be decent

4.20 Nottingham - Who is further ahead of their mark Scallop or Cay Dancer? Cay won me a pot very easily last time and now up 6, although Cam gets rid 5 of those. And Scallop walloped a maiden field and looking through lines suggestion is wads ahead too. Hmm. I think Scallop 13/8 might be ahead by more as will also no doubt improve a wad too as only 3rd race. I got merked by two Stoute favourites the other day so hoping not another one!

4.30 Newbury - Munfallet 5/1 has now got head in front, is ahead of mark and can go on soft ground. He has been running well behind some well handicapped horses and can now take advantage.

5.00 Newbury - Too The Stars 6/1 cost £800G is so well bred that can't ignore.

6.30 Newmarket - Have notes saying "Applebly looking forward to running this one". Referring to Arabian Oasis 5/2. Has entry for Derby.

Thursday 14 August 2014

Bets 14/08/2014

First four races yesterday were awful. Then I landed 6 in a row in the evening. Felt good. Not touching Salisbury after yesterday.

2.10 Newmarket - Luna Moon 9/4 has decent entries and those with experience look ropey.

3.15 Newmarket - Piceno 10/3 was beaten by a very heavily back Mime Dance. They were 5 lengths ahead of the rest and assuming has recovered can go well here. Is a course winner and Fallon will push him all the way from the front.

3.50 Newmarket - Long Cross 5/6 has best form in book

4.55 Newmarket - Zain Empire 2/1 has extremely good form which has been franked twice.

5.25 Newmarket - Random Success 6/4 looks well ahead of mark, but Apricot Sky worries me.

Wednesday 13 August 2014

Bets 13/08/2014

Salisbury 2.20 - I'm sure I read something somewhere about maiden geldings outrunning price. I might be making this up but at 33/1 Awjab worth a chance.

Salisbury 2.50 - Darshini Evs won well last time out and is well handicapped on debut form.

Salisbury 3.25 - Tercel 6/4 on paper is seriously well handicapped. Beat an 84 rated horse by 3 lengths and opening mark today is 77. Stoute has won 3/5 of the last renewals too. The arguement may be that Potenate beat Hesbaan by more and at weights is better off today against Tercel. However, this is only Tercel's 3rd race and I would expect more improvement.

Salisbury 3.50 - Tearless 9/2 walked a C3H with top weight. I think is top rated in this race and will hopefully improve as well. C&D winner already to further cause.

Yarmouth 5.05 - Johnny Barnes 6/4

Yarmouth 5.40 - Lunarian 7/2 won for me last time and think can win again. Trainer likes this one

Yarmouth 6.10 - Rosslyn Castle 15/8

Yarmouth 6.40 - Authorised Too 7/4 ran on well in last race of last year. Cobwebs hopefully now blown away after seasonal debut.

Yarmouth 7.10 - Ski Lift 11/4

Kempton 7.50 - Fret 12/1 based on Candy's record in races like this at Kempton, although Sandy Cay 5/4 looks decent.

Kempton 8.20 - Muradif 6/4 ought to easily defy 6lb penalty

Tuesday 12 August 2014

Bets 12/08/2014

5.05 Lingfield - Indianaughty 10/11 miles best of those with experience

5.15 Ffos Las - Curbyourenthuisiasm 3/1 ahead of mark on this ground and gets a good 3yr allowance and form is strong.

5.25 Notts - Had "will win maiden easily" in my notes against Thumper 9/1, but no date or source. Hmm.

6.35 Lingfield - If Artic Lynx bounces back to form is in with a shout but Al's Memory 5/1

7.25 Nottigham - At the weights Graphic Guest 9/2

7.35 Lingfield - Lola Montez 11/4. Langigan bashing them home and he had 37% record in 3yr+ handicaps at Lingfield.

Could be a decent day for Robert Cowell?

Weather KO'd me again yesterday...

TAPTETA IS HERE! Meydan racing has long been my pot of gold, but typically they have now reverted to dirt. I am going to be watching every race at Wolves and next year will use this as power.....

Mark J, Ewart and Goodlophin use Tapeta so be worth following them to see how they get on. (Crowdmania, Fajry, Torridon, Right of Appeal)

Wolves 2.15 - Dolorous 9/4 to land first Tapeta race. I'm basing this on her maiden effort, nothing else as any of these might take to Tapeta better

Wolves 3.15 - Free Entry Evs good draw best form but any of these might take to Tapeta better

Wolves 4.45 - Orions Bow 7/2

Wolves 5.15 - Warrigal 3/1 well handicapped if takes to surface

Ayr 5.30 - Awake My Soul 7/2 will like ground, C&D winner, solid and consistent form and easier races than last few.

Thirsk 7.00 - Kommander Kirkup 5/1 well handicapped on Red Stargazer and Dazeno form.

Ouch. That was the BHA Gods shutting me down for cocky mouth chat about how much money I was making. Oddly the 3 horses I crossed off my list, but decided to put in a treble all won… would you believe it?! Still lost about £750, but would have been far worse.

Tom Pricewise Segal is not having a good time and I’ve ignored him a lot of late, but let’s see how he gets on today:

2.05 Ascot – Bantam 12/1
3.15 Ascot – Swivel 12/1
2.20 Haydock – Salutation 10/1, Lahaag 10/1
2.55 Haydock – Educate 7/1

Right, my turn…..

Ascot – I have backed the best horse in this meeting in so many races, but I make the critical jockey error so will remember this, this year…Just want one big price winner from Ascot today and I’ll be happy as this is a team competition so imagine tactics will play out….

Ascot 12.55 – Move In Time 5/1 has won on softer ground, is a course winner and in seriously hot form.

Ascot 1.30 – I’m hoping the ground is soft enough, but it’s a big hope. If it is Earth Amber 9/1 has a decent chance based on last run looks well handicapped

Ascot 2.05 - Don’t have a strong opinion on this so stick with Segal on Bantam 12/1 who has decent chance for the price.

Ascot 2.40 – Two for Two 10/1 has come into form and ran very well at Goodwood last time and Dark Emerald’s 7/1 form is very very good.

Ascot 3.15 – Segal has gone for Swivel 12/1 and I’ll go for Trip To Paris 6/1

Ascot 3.50 – Golden Steps 6/1 has been running well in decent races.

--

Newmarket has turned soft….

Newmarket 2.30 – Tinghir 5/1 will love the ground and Lanigan landed me shed loads yesterday. Enobled might be danger if handles ground

Newmarket 3.05 – Englishman 7/2 solid course form and form. Might be worth a double with Dark Emerald if that form stands up

Newmarket 3.35 – Winters Moon 7/2 to continue Goodophin domination although Arabian Queen is a G2 winner at the course already!

Newmarket 5.15 – Purple Spectrum 7/4 has won on soft so no ground fears and looks ahead of mark

--

Haydock 1.50 – Squats 4/1 has solid form. P.Alexander is the best horse yes but tough ask off this mark.

Haydock 2.20 – I would have picked Salutation 10/1 as Segal has done and Rye House 8/1 is one I always back even though I know needs soft ground.

Haydock 2.55 – Hillstar 10/3 vs True Story 9/2 for me.

Haydock 3.25 – Wee Jean 10/1 decent form and Psychometry 8/1 potential improver and better than last race

Haydock 4.00 – Provenance 7/4 just over Championship

Haydock 5.05 – Satellite 3/1 looks well ahead of mark

--

Redcar 2.50 – Glorious Sun 13/8 form franked

Bets 08/08/2014

Yesterday I hit a 410/1 quad and made another £4k with 10/1, 6/1, 11/4 and 5/2 winners. I'm seriously wondering whether I should bother going back to work. Shades of Silk 4/1 was nabbed on the line which would have brought in 2000/1 five fold....

I have changed things in the last two weeks is I've reverted back to consistent staking (£250 on every selection), sacking off each way bets and used betfair to lay off at low odds. So the fact I've landed half a dozen bets over 10/1 at £250 on the nose has really paid off. I've not lost £1000 on any odds on horses like I have over the year and I've not lost any bets where I've been beaten by a head as they have traded out on betfair. I have to keep this up and if I can make another £15k this fortnight maybe I won't go back to work.....

3.40 Brighton - As long as the ground stays quick am keen on Muhawalah 3/1. Looks on a decent mark. Gutted there is an MJ horse in the race as his horses do me over but he looks a softer ground type horse though expect headgear will help him after hanging last time.

4.10 Brighton - Ronald Harris owes me about £2.5k after his 20/1 Fantasy Justifier nabbed Shades of Silk on the line yesterday. Noverre To Go 4/1 who won this last year of top weight can win it again. Panther Patrol is clearly the best handicapped horse in race but a lot of horses flop here so worth risking he does too. Steve Drowne better keep an eye on Ginzan this time though as he gave him first run last time and also hope he does not get trapped in on the rail.

4.00 Mussleburgh - Alex My Boy 6/4. "he’s a progressive type against some exposed horses we would be pretty disappointed if he couldn’t take care of these", says MJ. Has already been back very heavily.

5.00 Musselbourgh - A very cagey bet on Golden Future 9/1 who won this race last year of 3lb higher pretty easily.

5.40 Newmarket - Guilty 7/4 looks decent, with a course win and solid form.

6.05 Tipperary - Russian Soul 9/4

6.55 Haydock - I thought Alpine Affair 4/1 was really unlucky at Ascot last time. Once he got going he was flying and then Jamie Spencer, suprisingly didn't know which way to go. I have a huge nagging worry about the ground, but looking at his RPR ratings on GS and GF in early season they were similar so hopefully ground wont' be an issue and the blinkers will work magic again.

7.05 Tipperary - Love backing a 2nd string OAB nag. Cocoon 20/1

8.20 Newmarket - That Fast Track form is decent and I'd think Our Queenie 5/1 has every chance, but it does not look an easy race to pick and pehaps some of the older sprinters might do better. Of them Secret Witness 12/1 another Harris horse could be the one after a decent run behind Justineo

8.30 Haydock - Special Fighter is on a double penalty and looks better on fast. The Varian yard has coughing horses and his last 5 faves have been turned over. So have to take the front two on with Emerahldz 11/2 who ran very well against a very progressive Maid In Rio over C&D two races ago.

Thursday 7 August 2014

Bets 07/08/2014

3/8 y'day, but two were 5/1 so on top again. Few more today but all in low class racing which might spell trouble.....

2.30 Yarmouth - Arthur Martinleake Evs has the experience and form

2.40 Haydock - My notes say Azmaam 11/10 is a surefire winner next time if does not bodge start again

3.40 Haydock - Shades of Silk 4/1 looked very green when hanging late on, ultimately costing him the race. Given's bunch running well without winning and jockey booking positive

5.10 Haydock - Ground caught me out a couple times yesterday so I should highlight I need the ground to stay on the softer side of good for Precision Strike 6/1 who won fairly well over C&D last time, albeit English Summer got hemmed in, but won next time out to frank the form. I'm not convinced backing this claimer is the right thing to do as doesn't look great but hoping the horse can win the race!

6.15 - Voyage of Discovery 7/4 massive step down in difficulty with a cheeky 3yr allowance can win this.

6.35 Newcastle - I've been told Park Glen 11/2 is well fancied. I couldn't back it on form but it was 12/1 this morning. Trainer's horses are in dire form so would be a nice surprise to me, but not holding out.

6.50 Sandown - Snoano 11/4 has all the entries to suggest is well thought of and will improve on better ground today

8.35 Southwell - The RP App has given out a Pricewise Extra tip for free. Ordinarily when this happens it's a good bet as if it wins it's gets punters hooked in. I've not looked at the card but Segal has gone for Master of Song 9/1

Bets 06/08/2014

I really should realise by now I make all my big money at big race meets, not on average day to day. However, back to work in two weeks so making the most of the time left.

2.50 Brighton - Crafty Choice Evs

3.50 Brighton - I always worry about horses having tough races too soon before another race, but not with MJs horses. Skytrain 4/1 ran a blinder last time out in a very good race and looks a much easier race.

4.20 Brighton - La Tinta Bay 8/1 beat Mission Approved who nearly won a massive pot at the weekend. Is a course winner too.

5.25 Brighton - Lunarian 5/1 ran an okay debut and if runs to that form with a bit of improvement will go well.

7.10 Kempton - Turning Times 5/2 finished close to Assault to Rome who ran well in a Listed race.

7.50 Yarmouth - Reaffirmed 5/1 was pulling really hard last time. Has shown speed so this drop in trip might be smart. Just let him fly.

8.20 Yarmouth - Needless Shouting 5/1. Some random number text me with this bet. Looks reasonable but price is clearly shrinking because of trainer form...

8.40 Kempton - Musaddas 9/4 has been finishing runner up too many times, but was obviously given a tasted of how to win and get in front last time out. His form over C&D is quick and very strong.
