Ascot 2.30 - In the QEII last year Ribchester didn't look the easiest of rides even though started to pull back Minding. Lightening Spear has 3lb extra to deal with so on that race not really that much between them, but I'm not convinced LS is G1 winner as shown in last 5 attempts. Mutakayyef destroyed a G2 field at the festival last year so has a solid chance on quick ground. Dutch connection beaten on formlines. Oh This is Us would have been decent outsider after luckless run last time but poor form at Ascot. Ennaad has cost me enough money and just didn't look good enough at Ascot last time. Cougar Mountain is a big eachway price as has place in this race before but fully exposed. Deauville is 16/1 which with Moore onbaord is frankly farcical. SO in short Ribchester, Mutakayyef and Deauville on shortlist

Ascot 3.40 - If a 3yr old wins this, then fair play to Wesley Ward. We all smashed into her last year and made our money, but this year for me has to be Marsha. She has won the Prix A'bbaye. Won the Temple House giving 4 lbs away but is now has 3lb pull due to the way the group penalties work. Got to be a solid bet here. I expect to see WDC ourun price today along with Goldream but still sticking with Marsha
