If only I stuck with the two horses I really liked at Meydan last week and sacked everything else off would have been a decent day with Silent Film 10/1 an agonising second and Star of Mystery 11/4 winning. Anyhow I punted on way too many 'on a whim' and lost more than needed to.
2.05 Meydan - Leaving
2.40 Meydan - Mr Kafoo will go close, but back in a handicap, back in a harder race and back out wide means 9/4 is way too short. If it hit 4/1 I'd be tempted on an ew. Taakeed another tempting ride but going left field...
Al Hadeer 28/1ew. Last twice over C&D had very wide trips. Went off 3/1 in the latter of those. Smaller field, and back to last winning mark and interesting (though speculative) the other Hyde runner is now a NR. Best horse at this distance, second best at Meydan and other than Almoreb and Miller's House best on dirt.
3.15 Meydan - Saqqara King could have romped this but not going to make the cut :(
Castlebar 50/1ew. Running in a G3 here at Meydan over 10f, coming 3rd to Royal Fleet and Star Safari. That form alone would put it over a stone in hand. Then ran over 2miles and poorly in Saudi. Ran it's usual crap first race of the season and if finds any previous form, has the plump draw and 100pc and over this distance is the best. Won over C&D off 3lb lower so can win if at best again. Guess the price is a worry, but lets see.
3.50 Meydan - Manama Gold Evs looks decent. A newcomer could easily pop up however.
4.25 Meydan - When I looked at this race few days ago I assumed Shining Jewel would be fave. No. It's 12/1. HMMMM. English Rose is odds on fave and faves farm this race. Do I back history.

5.00 Meydan - Demain is interesting but wonder if needs a bit of ease in ground. All The Kings Men has been back from 12/1 into 3/1 in some places. HMMM.
Al Salt 4/1ew. It's tough going ew on a 4/1, but too many risks, esp this Boughney horse that's been smashed in. Al Salt looks to have a couple lbs in hand here based on last run which manybe should have won. Certainly penalised like did given the 6lb rise
5.35 Meydan - Imperial Empire 11/2 ew. If back to form best handicapped over C&D. Ran best race for a while lto.
Wolves 215 - Eden Storm 10/1/ew (backed this on Thurs)
Wolves 325 - Catrake Force 12/1ew
