Bets 10/03/2012

There is a lot to trawl through today, but I am ON IT! This week that staked total will smash through the 5k mark once I’ve incorporated my Antepost Bets. It’s Super Saturday at Meydan and some ridic tough races there, but will no doubt have a gander. There is A LOT of money flying around today – be worth following some of it. Looks like Kauto is back in the line up for the GC. All my ante post is on Long Run so hoping, as much as I heart Kauto, the interruption will be enough. Even without the interruption I will not have Long Run beat up that hill….

Meydan 1.40 – I’m convinced this is between Hitchens, Krypton Factor and Iver Bridge Lad. Iver Bridge Lad may have finished ahead of Hitchens when looked to have little room and had a 2lb penalty, but Hitchens rider dropped his whip early on in that race, so I’d back Hitchens to come out ahead of IBL. I can’t however pick between Hitchens and Krypton Factor, the potential younger improving horse. I think Fallon may go harder and sooner on KP and will punt he won’t be caught. Might be a few quid on a tricast here. Ergiyas? Never heard of it, but has some form in Russia. Will that translate? No idea?

Meydan 4.40 – Mutahadee could be special. We’ll find out today. Presvis could return to form as would be a danger.

Sandown 2.05 – Presenting Ace was 14/1 yesterday. The prices at 7.59am are as short as 5/1! I know Segal has tipped him, but there’s obviously been other money for him. Segal has also picked out Carrigmorna King.

Sandown 2.40 – Martys Mission might bounce, but Nicholls goes so well at Sandown and won another couple yesterday. Dover’s Hill will go better back in handicap and looks an interesting price.

Sandown 3.15 – Devil to Pay and Ile De Re both backed by Segal are now short enough, but like their chances. There’s an interesting runner in Swift Lord at 33/1 who battered Raya Star (yes he was butters that day, but I don’t think his mark is high.

Ayr 3.25 – Lot of these will go better on heavy ground. Maple Valley Gale probably doesn’t have what it takes to win this, but at the price with 3 places will love the heavy going over further. Need him to put in a good round of jumping though.

Chepstow 3.40 – Hard to assess a lot of these. Cocacobana might get caught out by the ground and Sandynow’s rise in weight is negated by the jockey so must have a chance. However it’s a Saturday and always worth looking out for a big price in a race like this. I nominate Kathleens Pride. If fit and fighting after break combination of ground, jockey allowance, mark and trainer form could go close.

Chepstow 4.15 – Umoristic looks interesting with form behind Bendant and Esteem both horses who are on my watch list.

Chepstow 4.50 – On the face of it looks like Plein Pouvoir has been beaten hoofs down, but in far better races, will appreciate the ground and gets a cheeky 5lb claim.
